Naw, I dislike the Chantry infringing on Orzammar's religious and cultural practices as much as anyone, but my duster figured they needed all the hope they could get.

Though now I just picture Burkel falling to his knees like PRAISE ANDRASTE! I just... meta trololol him. Uh, assuming he didn't get himself assassinated between DAO and now.

That's pretty much what my Cadash did. He didn't believe in the Maker (at least, not in a sense of "only the Maker exist", and even then he's more of a Stone Guy) but he had a Chantry built in the garden because he figured the people under his command, being mostly Andrastian, should have that place of refuge.

Though I'm disappointed that the little "Chantry" room is still a dilapidated piece of **** where a chandelier's on the ground, debris is everywhere, and the pews aren't even organized.

Actually, now I'm curious. Did anyone have their dwarf drink?

The only character I'm planning having do that so far is my elf, but I'm not there with her yet. I am not sure yet whether or not Big Tex will,

I'm torn between having my canon run for Nasir drink from the Well or not. On the one hand, it does seem in line with his character. He's basically the guy who will take one for the team (which is why after much thought, he decided while being a Templar would be handy and useful, being a Champion was far more important) and as far as anyone knew it was a dangerous route to take.

He also knew what Abelas meant by the Well's dangers, so it sort of reinforces his desire to drink. Suffering from a lot of PTSD that's sort of been going up... and up... and up.... well, he doesn't want Morrigan to risk her neck for this.

But on the other end of the spectrum, seeing that

Spoiler

It's hard for me to figure out what would happen. I'm torn between what Nasir feels and what I, the writer, enjoy.

I rolled an elf for Solas, got pretty far, read about what happens, and went back to an earlier save and romanced Cullen.

I love Solas, but

Spoiler

If dwarves could romance Solas, I'd be all over it. I could write a book on why that'd be the ideal romance. But I think its hilarious that I ended up finding pairing my elf Mage with Cullen way less gross than with an elven apostate.

Oh by the way, who else has seen this?

Not the best image taken since I'm not up close to it, but it's a Giant Nugmuffin wearing a tophat that chimes some weird creepy music.

@veeia -- I know what you mean. After I beat the game and saw the final scene, I thought:

Nope, you get no special options like "let's spend time together" when you talk to him after the romance is locked in, unlike all the other romances. (I assume, I know you can with Sera, Blackwall, Cullen, Dorian, and Josie...idk about IB or Cass yet)

Yup, you can spend time with Cass to your heart's content so long as it's pre-endgame.

My graphics card just broke, and so I'm playing on integrated graphics, and its' horrible, but I'm also terrified that when I take it in, they'll need to have my laptop for awhile and HOW WILL I PLAYD RAGON AGE????

...I'll be posting a lot more when that happens lol, but for now, playing my laggy, shiny, horrible game like a proper addict.

Aww Veeia! Well look on the bright side, some people out there don't even know what Dragon Age is. You should be so lucky to have the opportunity to experience a life-like breathing and beauty world. At first, I wasn't going to drink from the well, because my character is already stuck with this glowing green hand, and I knew it wasn't something right about the well, but I had to believe. Morrigan obviously didn't care what happens to her kid if the well did something bad, so really I was thinking mostly about Kieran. I'm glad that I made the choice that I did. Cadash could take the whispers, but I don't think Morrigan could take it if those whispers told her to leave Kieran, especially how that emotional scene with the family reunion.

Hello fellow dwarf fans! I have been reading content on this site for a long time, but have never participated before. This is my first time anticipating and playing a Bioware title at launch, and not well after the fact, so I have been spending more time here than ever before.

My inclinations towards wanting a dwarf character are high, but I have played through parts of the prologue sequence multiple times, and each has shown me the same cutscene model problems. I tried both a male and female dwarf, and then tried one default to see if it made any difference, but in each case, the dwarf gained human height for Cassandra's guided walk, when she helps you up, and when Solas grabs the marked arm to close the first rift. I am curious whether this might simply be a graphical bug exclusive to the older generation (PS3) version of the game, which the newer versions do not experience. I am still waiting two more years to get the PS4, but if I know the newer version doesn't destroy my immersion, I could put up with the glitch for now.

The height thing is not a glitch. However once you get past the prologue it doesn't happen as much.

^ This. The only other time I distinctly noticed it was after the Orlesian ball mission, dancing with Cassandra, which only happens if you have a locked-in Cass romance by that point. There might be others, but it doesn't immediately stand out in my mind.

Honestly I'd rather deal with my dwarf barely being in the camera than suddenly being almost a foot taller. :\

Yeah the height animations can be a bit inconsistent, but overall past the prologue they do a pretty good job of maintaining that integrity.

Welcome! :)

Prologue is terrible. Height, exaggerated facial animations, washed out colors, etc. Just get past that and it becomes a lot better. There will be some inconsistencies, but in a 60+ hour game, a few seconds here and there aren't really that big of a deal.

It does happen in the Blackwall ball scene (rolls off the tongue nicely there, doesn't it) depending on which action you choose. Seems taller on the balcony, but more realistic in the second shot.

Thanks for the welcome, and the responses. I am a really big dwarf fan, but I was sure I wouldn't be able to stand the height fluctuations if they were too pervasive. I am going to give it a go now.

I have been meaning to have a canon shield warrior who is a Templar for a while now. My Warden was a female dwarf noble archer, and I would love to pair my character of shorter stature with Iron Bull. Additionally, I have never had a canon gay male leading the way either, so I am off to create a male Cadash warrior!

Awesome. When you tear yourself away from the game every now and then, feel free to share screenshots. We loves them all, yes we do. (DAO screenshots very welcome, too.)

Ha!  I did this too.  There was a thread about it in the character customization subforum a few weeks back.  I'm addicted to making characters in this cc, so it was a challenge that I couldn't refuse.

Spoiler

I did this back on the 360.  Now you've just reminded me that I have to do it on the XBONE too!  Maybe I'll make my lady Aeducan and lady Brosca, as well.......!

Also, i.o.u. one 'like'.  Stupid like quote limit.......

Oh and speaking of pictures, crossposting from the BW thread, here's a photoset I made of all the really well done (imo) height differences in the Cadash/BW cutscenes.
