On totatlly unrelated note - the award for the most overpowered companion goes to Vivi. I love her as a character (she would be awesome LI), but Spirit Blade is just overkill. She jumps around a dragon (at some point I really felt sorry for him) dealing about 500 dmg with each blow and mana that is constantly regenerating. How is that fair? In the end dragon did kill her (no wonder since he's like 4 lvl higher then her), but she alone took 1/4 of his health bar.

 

And I thought Arcane Warrior from DA:O was a spec for munchkins... Silly me Knight-Enchanter is way worse...

I think this thread is so active because dwarf fans are very passionate, even though we're a minority.

Elf threads get super toxic within about 5 minutes of being created, human threads are a bit redundant, and I have no idea about the qunari devotees.

Exactly! Some of us are valiant tough as nail warriors. Others are cute as a button lady rogues. However, we all support each other. And we do not criticize. Play whoever you like. As long as you're having fun - we're happy too!

Stonehelm is proud to be in this family! Us Dwarves maybe few in numbers compared to other races but.....we are stronger plus....we have War Nugs haha

We are one big happy family! I can just picture it now......all of our Dwarves around a big table for Xmas Lunch, drinking, playing Dwarven games and singing Dwarvish songs! And of course.....Varric telling us a story haha Go us! My Dwarven brothers and sisters

I really want to play as a female dwarf since my last playthrough was a guy, but if I am doing dwarf I cant get over wanting to be a badass like Dwalin..so I keep getting pulled toward a male lol

I assure you, female dwarves can be just as badass as any male. My favorite character to play is a female dwarf warrior.

If nothing else goes wrong, my PC will be fixed up on XMas eve, and the game DLed over night, so possibly on XMas day. If my daughter has to back out of making the trip over again, I'm giving up and buying a new laptop even if I have to live with Windows 8 temporarily (yes, I hate that OS more than I love DA). In the meantime, I've played over 30 hours on my daughter's computer with that dalish warrior I posted shots of a while back. (Apparently I'm really slow since I'm only level 9 still ). I've spent a lot of time lost, especially in Vallamar (sp?) in the Hinterlands (I never did find the way down to finish that quest). I also like to sightsee

This is my Cadash. I originally had intended to make her blonde as a in-joke to the "sun-touched" insult that Orzammar dwarves have for their surface brethren, but I was ultimately inspired by the redheaded warrior dwarf card at the CC. She is a 2H warrior with a violent Carta background (escorted caravans, ambushed by rivals, etc). I love her. I love all the dwarf references in the game. I love Aeducan/Brosca writing a letter to Cadash. I love Blackwall asking about her Carta background. I love Varric and listening to his views on being a surface dwarf. I love my dwarf bed -- Lady Aeducan would KILL to have Cadash's room -- and all the dwarven decorations throughout the place! (I wish there had been a dwarven throne, but not gonna get too greedy!) I squealed when I saw the nug mount!! (I had hoped for a Bronto, maybe, but this was sublime!) I LOVE THE LEGION OF THE DEAD ARMOR! This was a great game.

Hella and Agathe are not related because I ship them ok.

But yes we are a small, devoted group. And don't get locked due to drama like elves do, haha. Bigger group there, but for elf stuff I stick to the elf group where every convo isn't derailed.

Remember ladies and gentlemen, Tali had a small but vocal support group. Anybody else noticed the amount of pop up threads that are literally questioning everything about how and why a dwarf could do this or that….

If your daughter has problem with motivation to work you can always threathen to disinherit her   Who knows it might help

 

I understand the sightseeing thing - I always want to check every crevice and look under every rock.

 

As for being slow - I started my first PT on November 19. It's now December 22 and I'm lvl 16. However, I have already 86 hours! I'm taking my time and I fully enjoy the game - I waited long enough for it.

 

What was your problem with Valmaar? I finished it so I can help

I don't even read the "how dorf work???" threads tbh. I do my dwarf missionary gospel spreading in other arenas, those are just too ridiculous for me.

I need to follow your example! I tend to overdue the sjw for the dwarves sometimes. Is it bad that I feel so pissed off when I see people talk really down on the dwarves? Like for example, "Dwarves are ugly, and shouldn't be a race option." Veeia knows who I'm talking about. (Someone from the Cullen's bisexual thread.)

I ship Solas/Cadash so much it's not even funny. I mean, he obv doesn't deserve her which is why he never made a move but the waves of longing coming off that bald nerd were ridiculous. Like, settle down son. Go take a nap, make better life decisions. Maybe someday you'll deserve the dorf booty.

My coping mechanism is to make at least 20% dwarf related posts in non-dwarf threads.

Yes, I had to use lusting after a human to do it, but I will use ALL available tools no matter how dwarfy they are or aren't, much like Dagna.

Nah, I feel the same way when people rag on Hawke as well, who also gets a lot of undeserved hate from people who didn't like DA2.

 

Now, if Hawke had been able to romance a dwarf in that game, we'd obviously have had no problems!

Yeah I'm same with Hawke and Da2. Also Velanna, Carver, Merrill, Blackwall, Vivienne, Isabela, and Sera. And I don't even look at Anders content.
