I ship jokester Cadash/Cassandra. He pretty much is the balance to her serious side. I feel that she would be able to let her burdens down with him, because he doesn't come from a perfect life of privilege and would know how to take her weak side. Cadash haven't only broken the stereotype for dwarves, but he gives Cassandra a new outlook on life.(In my head canon he does lol.)

Question: Are people bothered by dwarf/non-dwarf relationship? I feel that Cadash and Cassandra could settle down and have kids away from the inquisition. Somewhere new, like up north in Tevinter.

CleverCadash x Cass just kills me. It is absolutely perfect. I reloaded Olim for that and no regrets. Cry.

Bothered? Probably low level harassment, mostly joking, but honestly, my CleverCadash is so terrifying smart and schemy, I think it would only be by idiots who don't realize who he is...and soon regret it. He's a bit like Viv, he can destroy a man with a sentence.

That's the weirdest thing, because the fandom apparently does seem to have a problem with it, despite the games showing us evidence (such as the legend of Luthias Dwarfson) that people in Thedas seem to have very little problem with human-dwarf relationships?

Conversely, the fandom loves elf-human relationships, whereas the games show that Thedas has a major taboo about that sort of thing going on?

Funny about those two hooking up, since they're the most played race in the game. Human and elf makes human. But human and dwarf makes a half-human and half-dwarf, and I don't think we have seen that before. I know they're suppose to be taller than dwarves, but shorter than humans.

Isn't there a theory Sandal is a half dwarf? I mean, yeah, theory, but interesting.

Of course the only possible half dwarf we can see confirmed is Kieran so....right now it's just WoG, right? Who knows what they'd end up doing if they thought something else was more interesting.

If next game is set in Tevinter, I expect to see mixed race human-dwarf couples at least.

Fingers crossed everything will be alright this time!

If your daughter has problem with motivation to work you can always threathen to disinherit her ;)  Who knows it might help :D

I understand the sightseeing thing - I always want to check every crevice and look under every rock.

As for being slow - I started my first PT on November 19. It's now December 22 and I'm lvl 16. However, I have already 86 hours! I'm taking my time and I fully enjoy the game - I waited long enough for it.

What was your problem with Valmaar? I finished it so I can help ;)

It's not so much a motivation to work as something major happening every time she's supposed to make the trip over.

My daughter's also been moving relatively slowly (she's a completionist)

I found my way past all the rooms with gears, etc., but you're supposed to go down one more level to seal the tunnel the darkspawn are coming through. I just went in circles for half an hour both yesterday and today trying ever thing I could to try to find a way down, but couldn't find it. There's some ladders in one spot, but they run out without actually reaching anything. My daughter may help me tomorrow.

If you're from Orzammar and your lover is an elf or a human (especially an elf), I imagine there'd be lots of cracks about their lack of masculinity/femininity, since dwarves tend to fall on the extreme ends of that spectrum -- the men are burly and hairy, the women voluptuous, etc. All dwarves are stout, strong, and muscular, but I think in general there's more sexual dimorphism between male and female dwarves than, say, male and female elves. So, as far as hateful comments go, I can imagine some close-minded dwarves talking disparagingly about your partner, like... your human woman has no curves! Your elven man looks like a ~girl~! (Didn't Oghren say Zevran had small breasts for a gal?)

Apparently dwarves are haughty (surprise, surprise :P), view themselves as the "superior species", and look down on non-dwarves... and relationships with non-dwarves. Obviously this is a cultural thing (more Orzammar than surface dwarf, I'd imagine) and not applicable to everybody, but it's an interesting factoid.

On the surface you're gonna get a lot of the reverse, and a lot of what you see in the fandom... "Eww, why would a beautiful human woman be into a gross dwarf man?" or "Dwarf ladies are ugly/look like children!" Cracks about height -- like Bull asking Varric what it's like to stare at people's asses all day, Sera commenting on how incredibly short dwarves are and how it'd take two of them standing on top of each other to look Bull in the eye (he says they'd get a good view either way lmao), Oghren saying he's just the right height to give a human woman a good time... and so on and so forth.

Plus, the fact that it's apparently very difficult for human x dwarf couples to conceive has got to make some people in-universe wonder if it's "unnatural". Couple that with religious differences, the Chantry not believing that dwarves were created by the Maker (though obviously there are individual Andrastians who feel differently -- Varric, probably Leliana as Divine?). And elf x dwarf couples are, of course, only capable of producing dwarven children. I honestly don't even know if lady elf hips are equipped to birth dwarf babbehs. No clue about how qunari fit into all that.

Just a bunch of curiosities... I think about this a lot haha. Of course multicultural organizations like the Wardens, who are closely affiliated with dwarves anyway, are gonna be more open-minded than your average Joe Peasant, but.

Canon-wise there's Luthias Dwarfson, Mae and Thorold..?

If I remember correctly you have to go through the bridge (that is next to the place where Carta boss is. I think Alpha Hurlock protects it?) to the other side of chasm and just follow the road. I know I did it so it has to be pretty simple and straight forward.

I'm a completionist as well :)

Yeah, that does seem weird. I'd say it was because people like the taboo, but I suspect it's because elves are more conventionally attractive, and those people who are obsessed with tall and thin are freaked out by the idea. They can cope with elves because they are that unrealistic ideal. I figure it's a problem of having a very limited idea both of beauty and of what's important.
:P

OK, the road must have a glitched wall or something in my PT, because I've killed two different alpha hurlocks, one of which was on a bridge, and still never found a road that didn't just lead right back to a place I'd already been. (However, I think I've mentioned that I have an unusual ability to get lost :P )

Did you have a mage in your party? I think you have to use an Energize ability to close it up. It's not a super obvious thing, you just have to walk close to one side of the bridge...that bridge is right next to where the thing you Energize is.

I have nothing against dwarves romancing humans and elves (and other dwarves of course - but we all know that will never happen, right?). However, Qunari are for me just too big. I feel like Merry is constantly gaping on Bull's carrot when they go on a mission together.

Still Oghren remark about his height and human women is one of my favorite quotes from DA:O :D I just love that red haired drunk and I miss him very much.

Bull is huge even for a qunari, haha. When my lady Adaar stands near Varric, I'm feeling it, lmao.

While I've been lurking on and off, I might not get much of a chance to post over the next few days due to Christmas and doing my (mostly) completionist Dorn replay, but... Stay lovely, my awesome dwarven family, and enjoy any and whatever holidays you celebrate! :D

Yeah, but Solas isn't always a lot of help. He and my Dalish haven't gotten along (and having Sera in the party probably isn't helping :P )

Just created my first dwarf.

<------- He's a double dagger rogue and I'm so excited to play him.  I love the fact that dwarves have the Carta background in this game.

Eh, different strokes for different folks, I suppose. I think the height difference is cute, even if it's on the extreme side... lol. I will probably only ever pair Bull with dwarves, elves, and Dorian.

I assure you, female dwarves can be just as badass as any male. My favorite character to play is a female dwarf warrior.

Maybe...Idk...I cant get a male dwarf to look the way I want, but the female dwarves look great...SO I may be saving the badass warrior for another playthrough and do my ninja rogue dwarf female this one

Thanks!  Yeah, I'm really pleased with how he turned out.  His beard is a bit shiny in this pic though.

Welcome Sandal! (even if you're probably an old god in a body of poor dwarf) Sit with us at the table, drink a beer and enjoy being dwarf ;)

Your character looks very nice. What is his name? What spec will he get? Who will he romance? Do you have any backstory for him? (yes, these questions are very important to us :P ) We want to know everything about our new Brother :D

Just finished the battle for "Here Lies The Abyss" with Stonehelm  and what a mission! Loved it and of course...seeing my Dwarf lead the charge! :P I'm creating a 2nd character, for when I complete the game and I don't know which look is better :/ Can you guys give your opinions and see which one's look appealing? (Love them all but know clue which one to go xD) Thank you my fellow Dwarves :)

My favorite one is Option D.

Anyone knows if the Warden's Castle mission has a suggested lvl of hero? I'm currently having fun in Emprise Du Lion - but I fear overleveling the main quest.
