Question: Are people bothered by dwarf/non-dwarf relationship? I feel that Cadash and Cassandra could settle down and have kids away from the inquisition. Somewhere new, like up north in Tevinter.
If you're from Orzammar and your lover is an elf or a human (especially an elf), I imagine there'd be lots of cracks about their lack of masculinity/femininity, since dwarves tend to fall on the extreme ends of that spectrum -- the men are burly and hairy, the women voluptuous, etc. All dwarves are stout, strong, and muscular, but I think in general there's more sexual dimorphism between male and female dwarves than, say, male and female elves. So, as far as hateful comments go, I can imagine some close-minded dwarves talking disparagingly about your partner, like... your human woman has no curves! Your elven man looks like a ~girl~! (Didn't Oghren say Zevran had small breasts for a gal?)
Apparently dwarves are haughty (surprise, surprise

), view themselves as the "superior species", and look down on non-dwarves... and relationships with non-dwarves. Obviously this is a cultural thing (more Orzammar than surface dwarf, I'd imagine) and not applicable to everybody, but it's an interesting factoid.
On the surface you're gonna get a lot of the reverse, and a lot of what you see in the fandom... "Eww, why would a beautiful human woman be into a gross dwarf man?" or "Dwarf ladies are ugly/look like children!" Cracks about height -- like Bull asking Varric what it's like to stare at people's asses all day, Sera commenting on how incredibly short dwarves are and how it'd take two of them standing on top of each other to look Bull in the eye (he says they'd get a good view either way lmao), Oghren saying he's just the right height to give a human woman a good time... and so on and so forth.
Plus, the fact that it's apparently very difficult for human x dwarf couples to conceive has got to make some people in-universe wonder if it's "unnatural". Couple that with religious differences, the Chantry not believing that dwarves were created by the Maker (though obviously there are individual Andrastians who feel differently -- Varric, probably Leliana as Divine?). And elf x dwarf couples are, of course, only capable of producing dwarven children. I honestly don't even know if lady elf hips are equipped to birth dwarf babbehs. No clue about how qunari fit into all that.
Just a bunch of curiosities... I think about this a lot haha. Of course multicultural organizations like the Wardens, who are closely affiliated with dwarves anyway, are gonna be more open-minded than your average Joe Peasant, but.
Canon-wise there's Luthias Dwarfson, Mae and Thorold..?
