Guess who got the Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit finally? This guy.

 

I'll still be around a bit. I'm just going to have to be a lot stricter about my free time. With workin full-time and beginning my dissertation, I really shouldn't spend more than an hour a day online and/or gaming.

My dissertation is in science education. I'm looking at constructivist teaching practices through a particular theoretical lens. Good stuff. Already did a test run on it so it should be a fairly quick year and a half now. (I'm in my fourth year already and getting a little fatigued......)

 

Yeah, I know what you mean. My free time is limited here as well because of my job, social obligations, and working on my story.

 

I need to post on here a lot more. Especially this thread, because DWARVES.

I'll be around less soon too, also school related obligations, but less for me just means only checking on this thread and my other regular haunts, so y'all haven't seen the last of me, nope, neveeeer.

I still need to see the rest of the hobbit movies. Enjoyed he first one, I just never get to the theater anymore unless it's a kid's, haha. (Or a books with pictures adaptation, of course, saw GOTG and cap 2 this year, hehe)

Soraya is considers herself more a warrior then a rogue. Her combat trainer taught her to utilize speed and exotic weapons to combat her targets. Blades, chained kunai, and caltrops all help her to kill her opponents faster. She is the first one into battle, throwing herself like a death dealing ninja, much to Cassandra, and Solis's chagrin. They see her as reckless and wish she would take a more stealthy approach, however she doesn't have a stealth bone in her body..literally. She doesn't even have a single skill from the stealth tree. However this approach has gained her supporters as well. Both The Iron Bull and Sara both support and revel in her daring forward battle fury. While she tolerates the mages she has a heavy distrust of Cole. To her the bastard knows too much about her feelings, and her history...and he won't shut up.

Some fun facts:

• His name, Khaz, come from the word Khazad wich is how dwaves are also known by Tolkien
• I started out trying to make my dwarf look like Michael Fassbender and that's what i got. Go figure.

I saw the last hobbit, and the dwarven armies made me smile. Sure not Dragon age dwarves, they are dwarves nonetheless. It did make me more interested in seeing Kal-Sharok, but also reclaiming a thaig, just like Thorin and the company reclaimed the Lonely Mt. I am not sure if we actually see a thaig go from abondend to slowly repopulated, but could be a neat thing for da4.

Hey again guys, I said a few days ago I'd upload a picture of my Dwarf, so here he is - Anrai Cadash! I tried to make a Dwarf that looked a bit unusual, perhaps because of the lack of a proper beard and long hair like most Dwarves seem to have; I hope you like him!

Just found out why Scout Harding seems so familiar and so likable, especially the flirting...

 

 

...because she's voiced by the same actress that voiced Liara in Mass Effect. Considering the countless times I romanced Liara, it's no wonder Harding was instantly familiar and likable.

I saw people theorizing that a story DLC will probably center around the Qunari, based on found assets in the game files and multiplayer extras. Which is, tbh, kind of a bummer for me. I mean, exciting that Qunquisitors will probably get more specific content, and out of all of them, I think they could use it the most--at least we see other dwarves besides Varric and we got content beyond being made fun of for our race, but...eh...yawn. I am assuming we'll see a lot of that stuff in DA4, so I was hoping for something else. Just conjecture though, so who knows.

Doing a nightmare run right now with a Qunari. I love the race, just not as crazy about the political/cultural aspect of it, I suppose. And it's really more that there are so many other interesting dangling threads from the game to explore. I'm sure I'll end up liking it more than I think. If someone had said "hey let's do a Grey Warden DLC for da2" I'd probably be all "really? Eh whatever", but I freaking love Legacy.

I'm doing an nightmare mage qunari, too. I'm not too crazy about their culture like dwarves, but the "inhumane" look is what I like, and that they have so many haters! I'm tempting to bring Varric with me, so I can have a dwarf around. What are you doing on this run? I heard sera like the qunari the most!

I'm so thirsty for more Dwarf plot in this game, you have no idea. I'd love to have a DLC where we explore what happened to Orzammar so many years later or other interesting shenanigans (maybe more about the Merchant's Guild with Varric?) but the cynical bitter side of me says that'll never happen because Bioware loves Humans and Elves too much. Bioware, prove me wrong, I want to love you. @.@

As for Bioware loving elves...well, I'll be honest, showing a race a lot doesn't mean giving them positive content.

We will get more dwarf content, eventually. Perhaps I'm being too optimistic? But it really feels like they are building up to something, and the fandom seems to be responding to it, so. Hope!

I made Terra an assassin, over tempest, with a bit more points into subterfuge. I RP more as a literal assassin in her Carta years. Protecting caravans, since lyrium makes a looooooooooot of sovereigns to a lot of parties, plus, taking out competition, which we know, there's a lot of.

 

So, going to the Conclave probably saved her from becoming an unrepentant killer in the long run

I'm still on my second playthrough with Asarja, she's come a long way since Haven. Flirted around a lot too with Blackwall, Sera, and Iron Bull, but she picked IB at the end. They fit really well together.

 

 

For DLC, I'm hoping for something that involves Kal-Sharok especially regarding that one War Table mission. Taking Varric with my Cadash to the Hissing Wastes was great, but too short like the rest of the dwarf content.

 

I'm curious how they somehow mastered the Taint considering they're still around, and close proximity to the Anderfels. Not to mention they destroyed the Cadash thaig for harboring some of the elves after the fall of Arlathan. Solas would probably go nuts if he found out about that little tidbit.

I love this image of Nasir. He just seems so done with the whole "You are a chosen one, surviving what you do, saving us all" diatribe he keeps getting.

 

Also, I'm recreating Nasir right now (and I want to get him perfect and then I'll make a few saves in the beginning with him) but I need your input everybody. Based on the pictures I've uploaded to here before, like on page 76, is this recreation of Nasir more or less what he looks like in the previous pics to your eyes?
