I get frustrated because the people who are the biggest jerks about dwarf content never post in the dwarf thread, or contribute to dwarf discussions on tumblr, or add to a dwarf dialogue in any meaningful way/ often they don't even play as dwarves themselves, I've noticed. They're just jerks.
But I doubt Gaider or any of the writing team associates dwarf fans with that element, because they complain about everything. At least I hope not.
Agreed!
Not that this diminishes the dwarves' plight in any way, but it's like that for elves too. The biggest jerks about elf content are usually the ones that never play as elves themselves, and who don't contribute anything meaningful to elf-related discussions. The only difference is they do post in elf threads; they spam, derail, flame, and troll it out of existence.
Part of the reason I love coming into dwarf threads. They usually involve a much more friendly atmosphere, positive discussions, and a dedicated fanbase. In fact, now that I think on it, it's probably best that people who're jerks about dwarves don't come into dwarf threads, since it keeps the fan threads clear of toxic discussions, flaming and trolling. (Just a thought.
)
I can't even talk about Cassandra in her fan thread, because people attack me for romancing her as a dwarf. I'm not going to change what's in my signature, but I'm going to stay out of that thread.
All right, really? What are people's problems? Love takes no form! Beauty comes in many forms!
Yea, someone thinks it's a fetish. They even went so far to call the people that romance Cassandra as a dwarf or qunari, freaks.
In the spirit of contributing to the dwarf discussion, this reminds me of a great scene in a great episode of Dragon Ball Z Abridged (time mark 3:45 - 4:05). After the tall, blonde, beautiful Android 18 (who looks like a normal human woman) kisses Krillin (a short man), her brother asks the following question:
Android 17: The h*ll was that? You got a thing for dwarves now?
Android 18: What if I do? Societal definitions of beauty are BS anyway.
And that's my answer to that crowd.
