Kal Repartha, I like that.
On another note, I'm almost far enough on my Dalish warrior PT that I'll be getting Zhenya underway finally. Probably two or three more days if things go well.

We've only seen your dwarf once!
Do you have some ideas on what would have made the experience flow better as a dwarven protagonist? What changes would you have liked to see in Inquisition?
I'd like to take a crack at this one.
We're coming from the Carta syndicate that was uprooted to the surface as a result of The Warden's actions in Orzammar, though to be frank the Carta has always maintained a strong presence on the surface -- strong enough to at least present them with viable alternatives, anyway. Beraht had many contacts on the surface that helped him establish everything he did in Dust Town (from miners to merchants to even muscle). The Dwarf in the DC origin that we can kill was bringing in lyrium, and we've been part of the illegal lyrium trade as a Cadash member. A larger emphasis on this and having the Mages and Templars want our assistance is a start. Indeed, the M/T War would need to be a larger thing, not just confined to one dinky little area when it's a continent spanning war.
We also have to remember that Bhelen used the Carta as his own personal hit force for Renvil Harrowmont. So they're not above helping out the nobles under the table.
Next, a better examination of faith, from Andrastianism to the belief in the Stone. A chance to argue for what you believe in, rather then have it shoved under the carpet and dismissed. A chance to instead argue for a melding of beliefs, how one religion doesn't necessarily mean a condemnation of the other. To be honest, I came into Inquisition expecting a sort of Reformation-esque thing. The entire world has all these interesting beliefs, from Rivain to the Dwarves to the Elves... yet Bioware wanted to roll with traditional Andrastianism all the way through.
Some quests in Orzammar or Kal-Sharok would also be great, along with more things about Dwarven lore and history forgotten to the ages. Hell, I would even say that the Cadash family has a vested interest in helping get rid of the Red Lyrium in the world because it's bad for business (self-generating means it's also cheap, to say nothing of how buyers are becoming fewer and fewer for regular lyrium). Orzammar itself would be sought after by the rebel mages and Templars (haven and lyrium for the former, just lyrium from the latter).
Hell, I can think of a buttload of content that should've been done based on the War Table missions (which seem to possibly contradict with statements made by characters about an area, like Hawke, or just make the forces of Corypheus look inept). But as for more Dwarf stuff, having the Cadash family be more prominent and involved and a larger focus on the Mage-Templar War would be a start.
Further, a more Dwarven-themed Skyhold would be great, rather then just the draperies, banner, and bed we have. Maybe even look for Golems, or have Dwarven statues decorate the castle. And a bronto mount.
I'm sure Veeia has more ideas as well. Perhaps I will have more too, in an hour or so.
In the end, it's a human player that does it. The dwarf is just there because Bioware wanted your money at the last minute.

I wish him/her luck. Despite being so damn random. His first task should be to execute me..
Honestly.
I don't know about some of you here - but being told the way I RP is wrong is pretty damn irritating. I have issues with aspects of the game from a meta perspective, but wanting to play different races, faiths, alignments is pretty stock type RP'ing in my book.
In regard to a Cadash/Cassandra pairing - a friend put it like this 'Cassandra is one who has an open mind and it coexists with strong beliefs and opinions - it's kind of the reason why race/body type wouldn't matter to her.' It's a point I agree with after playing DA:I - I might have thought otherwise prior to playing given the limited interaction we saw in DA2 - and her her initial dynamic with Varric. I'm seeing a lot of things well beyond race here that would matter in any relationship with Cass.

It's stock in RPGs,but not with this premise specifically. The whole thing wasn't even designed for it at first. And it shows. And forcing the "stock" perspective is lame. It's a money grab.

That's the sad thing. Some of Cassandra's fans are so less open-minded than Cass herself.

OK, I'll drag her out for a few minutes tonight and try to get some pics. ![]()

Too true, but let's limit our talk in here at this point to dwarves, or our dwarven love of Cass and leave them to themselves.

No, we're not. I'm a product of mixed race. I also have friends of many perspectives, despite being religious. I don't hate gays, for example. I try to extend my hand to others.
But I'm an RPG fan. That is the gist of it. I like real vision in storytelling as well, not randomness. It's serious business. ![]()
You guys can be defiant all you want, but you know it doesn't sit well with you either.

Possibly, I might even agree with your subversive comment if I thought that most people wanting to play other races were looking to 'break the game' in some fashion, but I'm not seeing it in any great volumes, just people wanting to explore the lore of other races and being dissatisfied with the quality of what's presented. On that account, you might be right about the money grab, I really can't answer that, just my own experience having recently playing a lot more elven characters it's obvious they built in these things to be explored and I'm enjoying the content with the different races more than I have in previous games.
Overall I just get the feeling that they may have been overly ambitious for the game, and things are lacking on that level. That's not to say there aren't some awesome things in the game.
Some dwarven love for Cass!

I can understand a girl liking it.. especially a girl with a chibi avatar. She likes cuteness.
You. Not so much.

I don't do Cassandra/Cadash personally. I *do* support others who do.
Believe me though, I will lie awake tonight, crying, as I dwell on your certain disapproval and disgust of my pairing of Dorian/Cadash, however.
Woe is me.
Please, don't feed the antipathy. Even with ignore, it's hard for me to miss the replies, and I'm not here to debate someone's issues with them. I'm here to discuss dwarves and DAI and their LIs and anything else enjoyable. Please? ![]()

No, no. You really think I expect that? I don't want you to care about my disapproval just as much as I don't care for yours. This is just an impasse, as I keep saying.
But I think as you play the game, on your own, you'll feel off about the dwarves without my help. I'm merely voicing it all outloud. Enjoy the substandard experience.

The only thing "off" about Dorian/Cadash are the animations in their kissing scene. They kind of just shove their faces into one another, and Cadash tends to grow and shrink throughout the scene, but that only makes me laugh in a good way.

We should all just ask each other questions about our Dwarves.
I'm curious, if Leliana vacates her position with the Inquisition (after Corypheus is dealt with), would her successor be Lace Harding?
I know it's speculation, but she seems to be the most prominent member of Leliana's group whom we meet, and she's even there during the confrontation with Corypheus, although she narrowly misses being part of the final battle.
So I created a male dwarf with an American accent - my fem dwarf has one too. It felt sort of right even though I think the fem American is a little flat at times. What did others choose?

I apologize. I kind of find it fun to troll back.
Anyways, Go Dwarves!

Not sure she's the type to take over Leliana's job.
She's lived out in the wilds her whole life, she's an excellent scout...not the makings of an excellent spymaster. Only person I could think of that could ever fill her role (that we know, anyway) is Varric, really.
