Hi guys I'm new to the forums and this is my first post on a thread. I have recently bought the game dragon age inquisition for the PS4 and was seeking advice on how to upload my screen shots on to the site as I would love to share my dwarf with you and hopefully get feedback if possible (don't be to harsh when i upload the pics) lol

Aye, rolling an unbelieving Dwarf who found herself swept along by the early events of the game was just perfect for me - those who would presume to tell me that I played Inquisition wrong can go squat in a cactus patch.

My Cadash went: "Oh, I can have power and money as long as people believe some divine being sent me? Hell yass, let's do this!" She's an atheist and a greedy little liar. xD

I wonder if my Cadash will be an Andrastian, a Stoner, or an agnostic. I played my Brosca as an Andrastian convert, so I may go a different way this time.

Welcome to the forum! Some people upload the pictures elsewhere and copy them onto their posts (since you can copy and paste pictures from elsewhere onto the posts in this forum).

I did that with my Brosca too! Her attitude was "The Stone doesn't want me because of something some ancestor did? Kiss my cute little a**, I'll go join the religion the guy who saved me belonged to."

My Cadash went: "Oh, I can have power and money as long as people believe some divine being sent me? Hell yass, let's do this!" She's an atheist and a greedy little liar. xD

Zhenya is agnostic (in that she vaguely believes in gods, but no one's given her any reason to think they deserve to be worshipped) and doesn't like the Chantry, but she's probably the most honorable and most interested in the welfare of people, particularly ordinary people.

My Cadash who'll romance Cass will be mildly Andrastrian, in more or less the way Varric seems to be. I think people often forget that there are levels of involvement and belief in any religion, and often the majority of people who claim to a religion aren't that strongly involved or it's more of a cultural thing than spiritual, and that can include (and often does) the priesthood. I do think it makes perfect sense for a dwarf whose family has been above ground for generations and who has no place in the Shaperate religion to convert to Andrastrianism, even if just because it's good for business.

The other female Cadash I have in mind is going to be a believer in the Stone who either firmly asserts that (which doesn't seem to get you anywhere) or decides to play along to gain power (which is probably easiest to fit in with the conversations you have). She'll be perfectly happy to get everything she can out of their beliefs (which I think the game is set up to do just as much as the opposite).

I haven't gotten far enough to find out, but one of the Dalish I'm running currently is close to Zhenya in that she believes in both the Creators and the Maker, but she doesn't see any reason to worship them. That's resulted in some interesting conversation with Cassandra (and Mother Giselle if I recall) when she answers that yes, she believes in the Maker. They don't ask if she worships him or follows the Chantry's version of the religion. :P  I like the outcome with Cass, though, when she comments that it's surprising but reassuring since I think that particular Dalish and Cass were sisters in another life ;)

Love him! I'm jealous of how good that hair looks. I'm terrible at the CC, every time I think I have a dark brown-black, I load the game and it ends up dark red, lighter brown, or blue-black.

Yup, here's my dorfette, Hella Cadash, with the dark red hair. I mean I ended up loving it, but I was like WAIT I SWEAR THAT WAS BLACK

She looks really good i love the detail that went into her face and the red hair, in my opinion, looks better in red than it would of in black. The tattoo also looks great on the style of character you have made. its definatly thumbs up from me. great job.

In the spirit of this post, here's a question for you folks: What's your Dwarf's stance on being a part of the Carta?

Got my coffee and orange rolls so I can finally answer this. =p

Zero nugs given about being a part of the (violent) Carta. No apologies whatsoever. Just how life was. It's like Leske and Brosca. They didn't go around apologizing for being dusters. They did what they needed to get food on the table. When Cadash told Josephine that she used to be a part of the Carta, but was pretty much kicked out for being too famous, it made me think, "Aww, that's how it's gonna be, huh?" Josephine asked if Cadash missed that life and she replied that she missed her comrades, that she knew who had her back. It did make the transition as the Inquisitor easier due to the new support system and a very nice job promotion. I liked the war table missions from Lantos. It definitely felt like a Leske reaching out from time to time.

For my second dwarf, the Carta was a non-issue. She smuggled, meaning she just bought fancy surface goods for rich dwarven houses. And of course, she misses that life, she was damn good at her job. Her bosses are probably tearing their hair out trying to find a replacement. The Carta was just business, nothing more. (For my first dwarf, a way of life and comrades.)

DANG! I envy all you who make such good-looking dwarves. I've been struggling to make a half-decent looking dwarf more than ten times, but the best I've gotten so far is one who is on the "meh" side of okay. (I don't want her to be insanely gorgeous, as I actually think being a little on the homely side will contribute to her hardass disposition and make her appreciate Bull all the more... but I would like one who doesn't hurt my eyes to look at for a 40-hour playthrough. >_< )

What's your guys' and girls' secrets?

For me, shortening the face and raising the cheekbones represents a good place to start:

Spoiler

Squashing the features up so gave me something approaching the look I wanted for my Quizzy. That said, I'm still in awe of what other people have managed to achieve with the CC.

I spent four days in the CC for my first dwarf. I kept making it all the way to Haven and deciding something was bugging me enough to not want to spend 100 hours with it. No secrets, just a notepad with scribbles on which feature I liked and which to modify next.

And y'know, my first dwarf ever back in DAO, she was on the homely side because she was a hardass and I was rebelling against the whole princess theme. It wasn't until Alistair said, "Maker, you're beautiful" when that gave me pause. It's shallow and dumb, but I started to want her to actually be beautiful for him so she was revised to looked nicer on subsequent playthroughs. NO REGRETS. =p

Edit: I love your sig. I've never heard those lines. Love the Dalish pride!

Thank you for the suggestions Fandango and Gilsa. I'll give it a try, then post pics of the one I finally manage to get right. =)

Also, Gilsa, totally understand. I started off wanting my Brosa to be pretty homely to explain her attitude and to rebel against beauty-obsessed players as well, but I didn't have the excuse of a lover to change my mind. I just wanted her to be mildly prettier because of shallowness and vanity.

On the Dalish quotes in my sig, thank you! I like your sig too. ^^

Yeah, with lady dwarves you really have to play with the facial features a lot if you want them to be distinct but not....weird...

There's also a problem (for me at least) becuase you can't make a heart shaped face in the CC at all...or if you can, it requires some kind of wizardry I don't possess, and I think it's an ideal shape for a cute little dorf lady, so I was bummed there.

Nasir is very dreamy. I had no idea his eyes were so light, haha! I think all the shots I've seen have been very dark. His nose is distinct and his tattoos and cheekbones go really well together.

On another note, I was giggling really hard today, because I took my son to a Jump Zone style place to play, and there was a HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDY PARTY, BHELEN! sign up there and a bunch of kids were singing happy birthday to a little boy named Bhelen who was just cute as a button and I'm sure much sweeter than game Bhelen, but it made me laugh. I have seen many Belens, but never one spelled just like that.
