I got that dialogue once but I also had Solas in the party as well. He chimed in with something to add about the nugs liking it down there. Nothing special, just an additional line in regards to this dialogue banter.

Lol I feel like I'm grasping at every dwarf related thing to mean something bigger!

Oh no it certainly means something more lol. The Dwarves don't remember the Dwarves either means their past as mages or just how little the Dwarves have of their empire these days.

EDIT: Although I wonder if the Deep Roads were made as huge as they are for the Titans.... whatever they are.

Loving this stuff! I thought Varric would lend some insight on dwarfy things, but Cole is doing a better job with that, lol. =D

Not just the Deep Roads, but Orzammar as a whole. Which could go hand and hand with the titans thing and the dwarves not remembering the dwarves. The "true" dwarves well could had being giants, but lost their way in greed and corruption, which could very well be the castes and casteless thing. I'm now thinking of the forbidden fruit that Adam and Eve ate, which cursed mankind forever. Something similar could had happened to the dwarves.

I would expect Cole to offer more insight on dwarves than Varric. We all know Varric really doesn't care about the traditions that the dwarves upheld.

Bleh, I need to meaningfully catch up with this thread sometime soon, but I had to stop by with this. My kiddo (he's 5) loves makign characters in the CC, and today he made a male dwarven warrior.

His name is Cat Rift Cadash. Kiddo's bio: "he is a dragon fighter with good manners. he closes rifts. sometimes he shrinks bad guys and then steps on them."

The deep roads are probably only as big as they are to allow to caravans between Thaigs, rather than for a specific people. It would be like judging the height of bridges that cross over roads to tell us how tall humans are, the best judge is to look at the height of doors. No race is going to build doors smaller than themselves. The doors in the Primeval Thaig are only really big enough to allow a Qunari through and even they may have to duck their head slightly with their horns. So while Dwarves may have been slightly larger, they wouldn't of been any larger than any current race living on Thedas.

I guess that could be one thing, but we are just throwing out crazy theories for the dwarven people.

Hopefully a DLC addresses the Cadash Thaig or Shale Cadash, before we even think about moving on to a different protagonist (even If I don't want to change protagonist  :( .)

I know, but still it would be wise to keep our crazy theories somewhat logical. Otherwise unless Bioware completely ignores what they have established our theories won't get close.

We know Dwarves were larger in some aspect, physically doesn't seem likely due to building design, unless they shrunk a whole foot or so. So that leaves few other possibilities for how they were larger, were Dwarves once THE mage master race, with powers putting all overs to shame? That would be a surprising reveal as Dwarves are generally the most mundane magic wise in just about every fantasy setting.

Hopefully we get the background at some point but I find it unlikely to happen in Inquisition. It would be interesting to see the Dwarven architecture in Tevinter though, might help piece some information together as that is all fairly recent construction compared to most things we see Dwarf.

Ooooh, that tattoo and beard combination works sublimely well for Farin. I like that a lot. I like the bald look. It reminds me of Kardol (Legion of the Dead leader back in Origins).

I know what you mean about wanting to find meaning in everything. I've had to refrain from posting my crazy theories until I did more research and then be glad I never spoke up prematurely.

I used to save the dwarves for last so Kardol and his legionnaries could get the ultimate darkspawn battle -- the archdemon itself.

I'm sorry these pictures are so big. The old forums used to shrink them down a lot so we just posted full size so people could right click and see the full version if they wanted. I'm all whoah when I see how they look nowdays.

Why thank you :) Can't wait to get the Legion of The Dead Armor, I have a Dwarf helmet ready but i just need that armor before going on more story missions xD Getting the side quests done and increasing my level for the Hissing Wastes :) You did the same as me in Origins, let the other races fight and softer the Darkspawn and then have the Dwarves charge in and well.....show Thedas what Dwarves are made of ;)

I don't know about you guys, but I'm still not over Bioware giving us half a romance with Scout Harding and just not finishing it. I want to know about their date at the tavern. It's so damn cute. Where's my dwarf romance DLC?

I like Scout Harding and all, but if she was a romance, I'll still go with Cassandra as Cadash partner.

You guys keep talking about Scout Harding flirts. I've never seen them on either of my characters. Is this male only? Or do I need to be nice to her 100% of the time? Give her a nug? LOL. =D

It's not male only, but you don't get them if you're locked in a romance, and they're not in her first few appearances.

Yeah, it's a bummer, because it feels like a prelude to something, but it ends with her going "You're serious? Let's get a drink sometime."

Honestly I prefer romances that are more integrated into the storyline/are content heavy, so even if you had a drinking scene, I probably would't do it....in the same way that I just freaking adore Samara and she'd be ideal, but the Citadel DLC moment isn't as satisfying to me as a full romance....BUT yeah, I totally get why people are upset. :(

Last time I threw out a crazy theory concerning the Dwarves I was proven right.

Hell, last time I threw out any sort of well thought out speculative in-depth venture I was proven right.

Just saying.... I haz a track record :P
