On the topic of Lyrium, templar, magic and dwarves here are just some reflections regarding what Cole says.
Cole says that templar "fill" themselves with an "old song" that takes all the place magic could use and therefore magic can not comes in (interestingly enough this is exactly what Ser says when speaking about the templar specialisation, he insist that templar deny magic, not simply dispel or block).
He says also that the dwarf feel the same to him, which explain there resistance to magic and their incapacity to use it, there is no place in dwarves for magic to come through.
The above makes me think that dwarves might be "elder" than the other races of Thedas, predating the time of magic.
Could they have been servants of the Titans (wharever they are) in a time when there was no Fade and no magic ? And what then could be responsible for the creation of the Fade and magic as Thedas knows it now ?
Flemeth mention, when Talking about Mythal, that "she was betrayed, as the world was betrayed". I always wonder about that sentence, could she refers to the creation of the Fade and magic?
Oh Boy! I do like a good riddle! (and I worry that despite a very demanding job, I have time to muse about a fictional world history, I blame Tolkien for that
)
