Anyone know a good build for an archer? I'm playing ahead but do I go for Tempest archer or Assassin?

You can find some builds here: http://forum.bioware...ide-and-advice/

Assassin has the best DPS imo and it's a easy class to build and gear up because you don't have to worry about your critical chance and armor penetration.
You get a "free" critical shot every time you shoot from stealth and no cd on stealth if your target dies. Max dex  in the utility slot and critical damage in the offense slot and you'll do insane damage. A real sniper :)

For largest target "Mark of death" is very good (put your mark, do some damage, go to stealth, trigger your mark from stealth to proc critique damage, profit).

Tempest has a very good focus ability and flask of fire allow you to spam long shots. I think it's a fun class to play but a bit more difficult to build properly. you'll have to find a balance between critical chance, crit. damage, armor penetration...

And, you don't ask about Artificer but it's also a very fun class to play. Max. your critical chance (you can reach 100%), a single "leaping shot" will refresh your cd so you can spam one ability after another. And the "hail of arrow" focus ability is very good against bosses like dragons.

I always play in nightmare mode so I tend to min-max everything but the goal is to have fun and imo, the good new is there's no "bad" spec for rogue in this game.

Awh right thank you so much for this! Just came back from work...so DA evening and night now ;) Hmm....is the Artificer traps? I can't remember :/ I might try Artificer out, rock with Cole with his Assassin build, Blackwall and maybe....Solas or Dor?

Yes, artificer have traps. I like elemental mines: a colorfull explosion of all elements :)

If you go artificer, I think this post may also help you http://forum.bioware...ice/?p=17933552

Solas with Pull of Abyss offers you a good crowd control but I don't use him often because Dorian has to be in my team no matter what (I love him too much).

You'll have to spec your whole team for the maximum critical chance because their criticals also refresh your cd. In this  optic, Sera with her flask of lightning or Varric are also good team member for an artificer.

(I say that but I roll my DW artificer with Cole, Cassandra and Dorian)

Have a fun DA evening!

Right thanks :) Hmm....I'll mess around for a bit with this PT (not my main) and see how it goes :) Thanks again

So I thought I could wait to play a dwarf when I upgraded my system, but the dwarf appeal is too strong. Especially reading and seeing so many great dwarfs and their stories and their backgrounds.

It seems I must give in and do what is right and Replay Inquisition as a dwarf inquisitor.

Well, now you've made me sad...

I just want a one crossbow.  :crying:

I think GRRM lives in my head and makes me think of really sad things that can happen to characters...

I might as well post the last batch of pics (so far) that I have of Edric Cadash. Eventually I will go back on the main quests to see if I can get more

The perfect Dwarf! I've said this before but hell, I'll say it again....I would follow this dwarf to the end of the world! :) He reminds me of one of the legion of the dead soldiers in Origins :D

So, I've just came home from work and all day I've been battling thoughts of what if's. Has anyone ever  tried to run with 3 warriors and a mage/rouge before in this game? I'm tempted to try it, just to see how it feels; never know.....could roll with just warriors ;) Sorry if I'm bugging you guys with this, I know its not dwarf related.

I take three warriors (my IQ, Cass, and Blackwall) when fighting dragons, with a mage (usually Solas). Works pretty well for that purpose, at least.

Thanks Tishina :) If I could I would take a party full of warriors but those chests....***dragon age hoarder*** I might stick with 2 warriors, a rouge and a mage....kinda need each class tbh :/ Why can't we have a 5 party member haha

I don't know that the mage is required honestly, at least in dragon fights, if you have elemental protections and such.

So, if you were me for example.....would you try 3 warriors and a rouge for story and then come back with a mage for dragons? Sorry about this :( May the paragons curse me xD

As I undertsand it, I think you'll be better with two warriors, a rogue and a mage for mobbing and three warriors and a rogue for dragons.

You don't really need a mage for dragon if you have a good armor and the "elemental protection potions" from the Val-Royaux merchant.

Ah right okay thank you! :) I might just test it out and see how it I feel about it.....this is where dragon age plays tricks on me haha So many options and my mind goes off in hibernates

If you really want to try it, sure (though you could take a rogue instead of a mage for the dragons, just pick potions and gear carefully like HurraFTP says - I usually make arms and legs with the elemental protections for specific dragons.) I think you could have a satisfying PT without a mage, however, you're risking missing some things if you don't have both a mage and a rogue in the party too.

The joys of dragon age haha Hmm....I'll think it over when I'm playing with my non-main PT. Thank you Tish and Hurra, sorry about all these questions again :L Uhm....my dwarf will be you all the ale you want (no food tho) ;)

So, did anyone else notice the name this letter was addressed to?

I'm guessing Endrin would almost have to be a dwarf (on horsemaster Dennet's farm in the Hinterlands...)

I've run with three warriors when I want to hear their banters. I remember taking Blackwall and Cassandra with me for Adamant even though I was already a warrior because the first was a Grey Warden and Cassandra because I thought she'd want to interact with Hawke, but that didn't pan out. Varric was the rogue that never left my party.

Hey fellow dwarf inquisitors,

I just wanted to drop in and say how much fun I'm having with my dwarf inquisitor (not that should be a surprise)

I really liked the conversation with Josephine in Haven it really helped to establish my character. I was pleasantly surprised by the options and the choices that Bioware gave us. However, it does leave me wanting more b/c I enjoyed it so much. It's a small detail but its instrumental, I think.

I really liked the personalization there, too. It gives enough flexibility for sidestepping the criminal lifestyle or fully embracing it. One of my favorite quotes from DAO is: "Blood or coin, the Carta gets its cut." I like that playing as a surface dwarf is an entirely different experience than a noble or commoner dwarf.

Yeah I was v disappointed at first that we had to play as a surfacer dwarf, but I've really enjoyed it, I think partially because of the interesting things you get to play with as a Carta dwarf.

I think the surfacer Carta  dwarf brings a new perspective. I'm finding it refreshing. I was also pleased that I could select that my dwarf had been to Orzammar on a number of occasions.

However, I do miss not having an origin to play before the Conclave and I do find it weird that no one from your background comes to visit you at Skyhold. I think despite your origin, each one would have a reason to visit. And maybe even give you a mission that you need to complete. It would allow you to further explore your character's origin as well as getting  some more interactions/comments from your companions/advisers about your past before  you were the Herald.

Future DLC could open up origin missions for the inquisitors, which would be fun to experience.
