I love the idea of the two being blended together and I def don't think they're mutually exclusive.... I think it's probably one of the more interesting things to think about, how dwarven Andrastrianiasm would look.iirc I wrote a bunch about this awhile ago in the thread. But maybe I'm just not very charitable here, because I don't think Bioware finds that something that merits dwelling on, and I think our Cadash was meant to be generic Andrastrian or possibly atheistic/agnostic and nothing more, same as Adaar, same as Trev, so in the context of them providing us with RP lines, I would assume that on their part, when they wrote something that boiled down to Andrastrianism belief/disbelief, they felt that was a perfectly good line for Cadash as well as Trev.

btw, I checked my screenies and my stone following dwarf picked option 4, about fanatical belief.  "All of this happened because of fanatics and arguments about the next world. It's time we start believing in this one." and that seemed to fit him pretty well.

Ohhh, I should have picked that one. I like that the best. That is waaaaay too long of a cutscene to redo just to change one line, y'know? =p

I retrieved the Andrastian conversation with Varric. I personally get the impression that he's actually kind of neutral on it, that he's just along for the ride because there's nothing better out there. (He's never really taken a strong stance on anything -- mage vs templars, etc. He's written to go with the flow and just be a decent guy all around.) This is the one part that I was a little disappointed that I couldn't ask him about the Stone, but he's never been to Orzammar so it's understandable why it wouldn't come up.

Cadash: "Tell me the truth, Varric. Do you think I was sent by Andraste?"
Varric: "****, this is going to be awkward."
Varric: "I guess I do?"
Varric: "Either you're guided by the hand of some higher power, or you have the worst luck."

Investigate -- [5. You believe in Andraste?]

Cadash: "I wouldn't have pegged you as an Andrastian."
Varric: "It's a great story. It's got heroism, love, betrayal, and random musical numbers. What's not to like?"
Varric: "I don't have a nug in this race. It could be bullshit, it could be true. I'll never know."
Varric: "But I like the idea that maybe you could save the world with a song."

[1. That's no reason to believe.]
Cadash: "That's not a reason to believe in me. It might actually be the opposite."

[3. Could be both.]
Cadash: "Let's be realistic. It could be both."
Varric: "You've got a point."

[6. Are those my only options?]
Cadash: "Why are those my only options?"

Varric: "Look at all the **** that's happened to you."
Varric: "You were saved from the explosion that leveled a mountaintop, and fell out of the fade."
Varric: "You traveled through time."
Varric: "Faced down one of the ancient magisters who started the Blights. Had a mountain fall on you. And lived."
Varric: "One of those things would be impossible. All of them together? That's a miracle."

[1. So I have divine bad luck?]
Cadash: "So, on the basis of my extraordinarily bad luck, you think I'm Andraste's Herald."
Varric: "If you know the story of Andraste, you know that bad luck is sort of her thing."

[3. I'm not the chosen one.]
Cadash: "Varric, it's just coincidence. It's not destiny. I'm not some chosen one."
Varric: "You can keep saying that. Meanwhile, I'm gonna stand watch in case it starts raining cows or something."

[6. I see your point.]
Cadash: "I'm starting to see your point."
Varric: "Just ... try to warn me before falling into the Fade again, would you? I hate that place."

So, um, awkward question time: what kind of birth control do you think is used in Orzammar? Spoiler tagged for sensitive eyes.

I have no idea what their birth control is, if it exists, but Zerlinda's dad told her to throw her child out in the Deep Roads.

Does anyone know which of the tombs in the Hissing Wastes gives you the Legion of the Dead armor schematic?

I'm at skyhold and I sorta just want to run to the Hissing Wastes real quick and grab that schematic and explore the region later when I'm a higher level.

Thanks in advance.

The tomb farthest east on the map. Mountain Fortress Camp is closest to it. If you're just entering Hissing Wastes for the first time, mount up and head north and just hug the right side of the map. The Mountain Fortress Camp is at the base of some sort of ruins. You'll need to take a dirt ramp up a mountain to get to the tomb that contain the schematic.

And thanks to you, nothing but Legion of the Dead armor for my Cadash for the rest of the game.

Oh god, I had forgotten all about that. Time to break out the brain bleach.

Yeah, I remember hearing something about mages in the Circle having some advantages in that regard, though clearly it's not foolproof (looking at you, Wynne).

I guess it could be... enchantment! :P

The father of her child was a templar, so who knows what weird counters to magic might have happened, lol.

*snicker* Well, technically he isn't a Templar any more and it's unclear if he still has much of their abilities.

So, I'm currently rolling a female Dwarven archer and I have to say, I'm really enjoying seeing her in action.

At the moment, debating whether to go pro-Templar or pro-Mage. Since dwarves can't be mages and as a member of the Carta who presumably sold Lyrium under the table to both sides, they've not really got a vested interested one way or another who wins?

I'm half tempted to go pro-Templar, but since I'll help Cullen kick the habit and he'll help others in the rank and file do so, that kinda knackers the Lyrium trade who are already suffering due to the influx of Red Lyrium on the market. Having the Templars kick the habit and causing the Mage Rebellion to be crushed, could potentially ruin the entire basis of the dwarven economy and really hack of a lot of your old contacts in the Carta, who we know aren't above putting a hit on you already?

Argh, why do I overthink this decision every time I do a playthrough?

I really enjoy Reska, my dwarven archer. Pro-Templar run as well, but I'm still deciding whether I'll keep Cullen on lyrium or not. She's a bit more concerned about ensuring the lyrium trade than Zhenya, but there will always be Templars and mages wanting lyrium that the chantry doesn't want them to have. No, you aren't overthinking, I think we're all considering a lot of the same things.

I've overheard conversations in Haven that indicate that the Carta favors templars over mages (templars are steady business, mages aren't regular, but when they buy, they buy big), but like you said gold is gold and in the end, they don't care where the money ultimately comes from. And I haven't had the opportunity to keep Cullen on lyrium, but it's my understanding that you're allegedly able to tell him he can wean himself once Corypheus is dealt with. I remember seeing a video of a mage romancing Cullen keeping him on the lyrium and then reminding him at the epilogue that they can start the withdrawal process soon. In theory, you could prevent the epilogue slides of other templars following suit since Cullen has no example to provide.

Edit: Then again, the Carta DID kick you out. =p

Hey guys! Sorry for the prolonged absence. What've I missed? :D

Where have you been all my dwarven's life!!? Well, I've finished Cespar's playthrough, and moved on to Adaar, which I've come to love dearly. So much that I've written a couple of background stories for him. I plan on having him meet Cadash briefly. Adaar was a mercenary, so I'm sure he has crossed path with the Carta, and he's a mage, so of course he would need his "fix."

I'm sorry! School started up again and I got swamped.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear Cespar's story is finished! *is still praying to the ancestors for DLC*

Do you have any screenshots of your Adaar? I know this is the dwarven thread, but still :D

Oh no worries! I'm going through the school thing right now!  ^_^

I'm little sad, but dwarf after dwarf wouldn't had let me experience the qunari.  I've been reading up on their lore and looking at Fan art on my free time.

Ces Adaar(canon, maybe?)
