Back again asking for help.

I just got the 'business with the Carta' War Table Operation and I'm not sure which adviser to use. Sadly, the  Wikia has little info on this wartable operation, and I don't want to mess this operation up accidentally.

Thanks in advance,

What does the text say? I can advise you if you can tell me the gist of the mission and the advisor comments.

My Cadash has become a Champion.

And I had to nice race/carta specific conversations with Dorian and Blackwall.

Dorian's was great especially him mentioning that when people in the south will think of dwarves instead of merchants they may now think messiah b/c of my dwarf inquisitor.

So all and all another satisfying time playing as my dwarf inquisitor.

Quick question: do we know if Branka's relationship with Hespith began before she took off for the Deep Roads, oor..?

Quick question: do we know if Branka's relationship with Hespith began before she took off for the Deep Roads, oor..?

I'm not sure. It could be she looked for comfort when Oghren disappointed her, then the obsession with the Anvil took over.

I had the impression it started before she left for the Deep Roads and that she wasn't discrete (Oghren seemed to know about it in advance.) It felt like that was part of the reason Oghren wasn't taken seriously when he asked for help to look for Branka.

Thanks dears!

I was kind of under the impression that they were together while she was with Oghren, but I guess it's never really confirmed one way or the other.

It is. Seweryn fought his own father in a proving to earn his battle status two years prior to when he would normally have been able to do so.

Sweet. I don't remember that tidbit so thanks for mentioning that!

That reminds me -- a while back we were sharing what our companions said when the party came across the nugs in Crestwood, remember that? Here's a video of all the companions with their comments. Worth watching since there are different people in the group for maximum banter. (Sera's reaction to Varric's comment about braised nug was completely new to me.) The only thing this video doesn't have, I noticed, is that when Cole talks about dwarves not remembering dwarves, that Cadash will say "are you saying I don't remember myself?" (The inquisitor is an elf in the video.) But we do get to see Varric's reaction in our place though.

Nugs, love them or eat them  .

Fun dwarven fact :I took Elrik fighting the dragons in Emprise du Lion, and I just found his best move, getting between the legs of the beast and hacking his dragony balls like there is no tomorrow

Sad to hear about David Gaider leaving. He's done a great job creating/overseeing the DA Universe.

And Now that Patrick Weekes will be the lead writer of DA, I only have one question:

How does he feel about dwarf romances?

I LOVE the nug compilation, Gilsa! Poor nugs. :P

About Weekes... I have faith in him. Given that he wrote Bull, I doubt he has too many hangups concerning fictional races. Here's hoping?

I don't think he has any hangups. I don't think Gaider did either, tbh, I think that was overstated. I'm more like "does he find dwarven culture, history, and religion interesting?" etc etc.  because honestly I feel like dwarves being so dropped in the last 2 games is less "ew, dwarves" and more "meh, dwarves", you know?

I just recently found out that the Dragon Age's writer that was interested into the dwarven's lore, doesn't work for Bioware anymore. Well not really the last two games, but Dragon age 2 and Inquisition.

I didn't get the impression that Gaider had any hangups either. All the stuff he's written has been pro-dwarf (the most recent example is Dorian cheering dwarves on breaking stereotypes and Dorian gives out approval if you choose the dwarf-specific dialogue when becoming Inquisitor at Skyhold). Sometimes his snark just gets taken the wrong way and he laughs at that stuff, which fans the flames. And didn't Weekes write Iron Bull? Iron Bull was the one making all these observations about dwarven tombs in the Hissing Wastes which was way more than Varric's "hell if I know" commentaries.

@Cespar -- Do you mean Jennifer Hepler? She did the lion's share of dwarf content back in DAO and I had a feeling that her departure probably created a void that wasn't able to be filled. I mean, if you asked me a question about dwarves, I'd be more knowledgeable than most. If you asked me anything about elves, I'd just blink and sweat profusely.

@Gilsa Yea it seems like the elves get more juicy things than every race out there, even the humans, which is surprising. I'm the same when it comes to dwarves' lore, and could care less about the Dalish elves, but the city and ancient elves are nice.

I'm trying to up my lore on the Qunari/Tevinter, and hoping that the World of Thedas Vol 1&2 offers more about the dwarves.

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that Helper was the dwarf expert and Kirby is the qunari expert. I've seen Weekes referenced as the elven expert.

I'm not too fussed about it, that was my just knee jerk DOOOORF reaction. Gaider isn't always my favorite (i'm big frown about the fan w*nk he's contributed to lmao), but he (along with Sheryl Chee) has consistently written some of my favorite characters, so regardless of his greater lore areas of interest or contributions, he'll be missed as a voice in the game.

Hey, it's always possible that the next writer they bring in - assuming they want to keep the team the same size after promoting Patrick Weekes - will be a dwarf-lover :D . (Does anyone have any idea how Brianne and Sylvia feel about them, for that matter?)
