Awakenings companions just got dumped like bad dates I think, unfortunately, with the exception of Anders/Justice, who...without trying to turn anything into a debate, got a bad treatment IMO so... Sadly, I don't think any of them will show up again, even Nate, who got his 5 seconds in da2. Which bums me out, it's my favorite group of companions and I wish they'd gotten a full game.

I thought she had three pigtails?
I always forget that random pigtail that comes out the back middle section of her head. ![]()

Yes, this.
They had so much potential and I agree it was a great cast.
Add in Finn, Shale, and Ariane and I'd take this hybrid group over most of the Origins cast.
I cant explain why I like the Expansion/DLC characters more then the original cast, I just do. And for it I am cursed bc the companions from the DLC/Expansion have been sadly forgotten.

I would love to meet a Silent Sister in the future...Is one of those things from DAO that endend up forgotten, I would have loved to know more about that order.
I think that a Silent Sister companion would be really difficult to do, but if they pulled it off, she could be a really interesting and unique character unlike any that we've had before. I think of Utha in The Calling. Even though she didn't have any lines, Gaider really did a great job of giving her a ton of personality. It will probably never happen, but a guy can dream, right?

Justice lives in my headcanon (he even says in Awakening that simply killing his host wouldn't send him back to the Fade). I like to imagine him somehow finding his way to the Inquistion, in this dual-nature of his (Justice-Vengeance) and meeting Cole and Solas. And the two of them talking with him. Nasir eventually meets him too after Solas introduces them to each other, and it's a process to get him to a state of being where he's better adjusted -- whether it be Justice or Human Justice.
I personally prefer Human Justice, given what little we saw of his development in Awakening where he wanted to experience the mortal world's beauty.

I loved Utha. ;___;
I did too.
But I gotta know what the Architect's secret is for hair growth. Utha managed to get a full head of hair again!
It must be the taint. Just rub-a-dub-dub it on your scalp and voila!

Nice! I also diverged a lot there but in a different way, haha. My canon Hawke killed Anders (I love Anders and I could actually never kill him in the game because I'm a wuss lmao, thank god for the Keep) and there I have Justice returning to the Fade, to try and refind himself and his purpose after being so intertwined with Anders. The main reason is because I like the tension between Brosca (who takes the place of Loghain in the Fade) and Hawke, who both knew very different versions of Anders/Justice, and both have complex feelings about their role in the whole thing and lots of reason to dislike the other one. And of course Justice is involved in the whole Fade sequence.
I'm glad the HoF hasn't come back for a lot of reasons, but the conversation she could have with Hawke about Anders/Justice...wow, that would be fascinating, ngl.

I feel a drabble coming along! Must think on it more on the morrow, since Tobias Hawke ends up meeting Xanthos Aeducan in my world-state during Inquisition.

We know they became mute/cut their tongue only as a final vow... actually, an apprentice Silent Sister that can decide to take the vow and became mute, or stay as she is, would be quite interesting... or, if I remember correctly, they are accompanied by another dwarf that "translate" what they have to say.
Still, it would be quite interesting know more about that order
and yes, Utha was a very well depicted character, with a well flashed out personality. Siche we just see her in Awakening, but I can't remember see her anywhere else in the expanction, I still hove we'll see her again.

A mute character like another Silent Sister would be cool to see in a future game, I'd love to see the devs see if they are up to the challenge, since they'd have to make them communicate solely via gesture, facial expressions and body language to show us what they're thinking?
Would be good as well if we as the player could fill in the role of translator, perhaps because the character is someone we've known for a while?

I just left it to the default Edric as I couldn't think of a more "dwarfy" name
Edric is pretty good, but here's some names I'm gonna use and have used:
Odane, Thoren, Mael, Garan.

I, uh, actually made a list of all the dwarf names used so far in Dragon Age. (I'm writing a tabletop campaign set in Orzammar, and once I started making a list ...)
Anyway, if anyone is having trouble finding a dwarfy name: behold! (Note that this list is complete and includes names I doubt anyone would want to use for an Inquisitor. Although calling them Varric or Branka or Ogrhen would actually make perfect in-universe sense. Maybe that's why nobody uses their first name ...) This includes the names of all the dwarf characters, as well as many others drawn from the codex and elsewhere. I've probably missed a few that are in codex entires and such from DAI, but this is a LONG list.
As you can see, we've encountered far fewer dwarf ladies than dwarf gentlemen
. I also have a list of known house names, if anyone would find that handy.

Awesome list A-R!
Here are a few others that are drawn from the character creation description of the tabletop game. The list is on the wiki:
- Sample female names: Althild, Ethelwid, Hildred, Kedwalla, Milburga, Orta, Peada, Sigge.
- Sample male names: Eadrek, Kerdik, Kynewulf, Oerik, Oswulf, Roshek, Vengest, Witred.
There were also a few in this list that you've already included, so I deleted them. Just thought you'd like to have them, but not sure if they 'count' since they are just 'suggestion' names and the tabletop wasn't written by a Bioware writer, as far as I know.

I ended up keeping Edric for my dwarf inquisitor. I went into the CC not knowing what I'd name him, and when I was presented with the default name. I was surprised by how much I liked it.
Thanks for all the name suggestions. I definitely need a new name for my second dwarf inquisitor. Yes, I'm already planning on him even when I haven't finished my first.
That's the power of the dwarves.

There's also Hendir, Prince of the Dwarves, mate of Tyrdda Bright-Axe, Founder of the Aval'var and Father of Morrighan'an, Queen of the Avvar (Hendir for short).

I don't know how I missed this guy in the last two games, but I did a double take when I saw a dwarf on the Skyhold ramparts and he was wearing the sweetest looking LotD armor. Wow! I really wish they'd share this schematic with us. This is just amazing.

NOOOO! He's on a trap door! Someone warn him!
That's really a bad ass set of armor he has there. Doesn't look like the LOTD armor we were blessed with. Ugh, should had spun a story.

Is that Korbin? It's been awhile since I played MP, but I loved him. ![]()
edit: I googled it,and it is in fact him. I like all the MP characters, tbh, they're fun even if broadly sketched and not narrative focused. (not surprising to me since they were all written by Sheryl and I tend to like her stuff a lot) He shows up in some of the war table missions too. I think he's the one Cullen makes the jerkface dwarf comment about, lmao.

Wow. I don't play MP. I had no idea he was a MP character. Neat! I googled because you mentioned it. I love he's got an actual background instead of being a random dwarf standing around Skyhold.
Korbin is a highly regarded warrior from Orzammar who volunteered for the Legion of the Dead. As a result of the alliance between the dwarven king and the Inquisition, Korbin now fights on the surface against Thedas' greatest threats.

There's another dwarven character in MP. Luka, the Alchemist. I didn't play enough to unlock her, but her background is pretty awesome. She is also often sitting around Skyhold, by the stables, and shows up in WT missions.
Luka remembers the prison in the Vimmark Mountains: She was nobody, clearing out tunnels for the Carta, not important enough to know the truth about why they were there. She watched as the Carta descended into madness, never learning who was pulling the strings. When Hawke destroyed the prison, she was trapped, alone and forgotten. It took years, but she got out, using salvaged treasures to blast her own exit out to freedom. Then the Inquisition came calling, for they too remembered the prison, and what was kept there.

Oh my gosh, I think I know who you mean. There's a hooded dwarf that sits there and has a belt with lyruim vials all around. I wondered about her!
