Heh. Dennet is actually worse for the taller races because the camera pulls back so we can watch the human/elf/qunari stroke Blackwall's beard (dwarves just get the camera zooming in on their own faces instead) while Blackwall holds the Inquisitor's arm. That's where Dennet pops up in the background. I left Dennet in Hinterlands because I never felt right taking him away from his family when all he did was watch one lousy animal in Skyhold. (If they wanted him to be a real horsemaster, they should have had a real stable with all the mounts we've purchased actually showing up to fill the space.) Plus the added bonus of him not being around during the romance scenes. No Dennet means I can't buy the horses and hallas that he sells, but since I only ride nug mounts (obtained via the war table), this isn't an issue.





No Dennet anywhere! =p



@DwarfofOrzammar -- It really is up to you. I tend to change it up based on banter I want to hear. If you go with Blackwall, then avoid Viv as the mage because their banters are a real drag to listen to. Varric + Solas will yield some interesting dwarf conversations. Varric + Viv will center around the books he's writing and he will be inspired by Viv as a villain for his books. Iron Bull + Dorian will unlock their romance if you're not pursuing either. I'm not sure who Cassandra pairs up well with. I know that she and Varric will continue with their "dragged me against my will" line of conversation. Iron Bull is chill and gets along with just about anyone.

Thank you for the info Hmmm...i guess I should roll with Durin, Bull, Varric and Dorian And some of you may hate Durin but......

I don't think we ever discussed the Cadash's codex card. I was trying to figure out the meaning behind it, but I don't have any ideas.

Right I need help............I'm a Dwarven Warrior and I don't know who to have in my party :/ Do I go for Iron Bull, Cass or Blackwall as the 2nd Warrior? I'm having Varric as my rogue of course and finally, do I have Vive, Solas or Dorian as my mage? Thanks for taking the time to read this

Cass and Varric are pretty funny together. I haven't had Blackwall or IB in the same party as Varric yet. Blackwall and Dorian have a few banters that are pretty funny, like the one in my sig line after Blackwall asks about Cory. Cass and Solas have some good banters as well; they develop a fairly respectful relationship (at least in my PTs.) Solas and Blackwall have a few sparks in their banters, especially if Sera's the third person in the party. I think it all depends on what kind of banter you want to listen to honestly (if banter is your concern?) If spec is what you're trying to work with, that's just going to depend on your play style.

 

Edit: and just realized I somehow didn't see the last two hours messages, lol. Orz, hope you have a safe, unstressful move!

They're deepstalkers; pack animals of the dark who are a bit unsavory. You're a member of the dwarven underworld and your former associates come back to haunt you. It's a bit more straightforward than some of the others.

Someone in that thread once spoke of The Dwarves, written by Markus Heitz. I've just bought the first book, and I really like it. Dwarves, dwarves everywhere ! I couldn't be happier ! So far Tungdil is adorable (as much as a dwarf can be adorable) and I'm quite fond of the twins. Feels like it'll be hard to resist to the temptation to buy all the remaining books at once when I'll be done with that one.

Feels like it'll be hard to resist to the temptation to buy all the remaining books at once when I'll be done with that one.

 

I did!  I mentioned it (well, in response to someone else who mentioned it first.....)!

 

Yeah, it's great.  I'm still sitting half-way through the third book because I just don't get recreational reading time anymore, but it is pretty great.  Tungdil is awesome.  The twins are awesome.  I liked Boendal the best.  And Balyndis is a badass.  After the first book, I bought all four in one shot and I don't regret it, even if I'm still working my way through them a few years later.

Bwahahahaha, this nails my reaction SO exactly! Of course, except possibly for a comment or two from Varric in one of the games about human dreams and the Fade, they've pretty much ignored the lost opportunity for hilarious dialogue for three games now (I was always amazed my dwarves couldn't comment in DAO, but two games later it's still happening?... )

This dwarf is suppose to be young, so he's about 24.

I do wish my Cadash or Aeducan could've called out how strange it is to be dreaming in the Fade. As far as Dwarf dreams go on a normal basis (meaning for your everyday Dwarf), it seems to be akin to just normal dreams we have -- considering Oghren's dream is nothing at all like a Grey Warden dream.

Nice! Adan is a pretty cranky old man, and seems he would give along well with a Tempest. Nice read, especially adding more depth to a minor NPC!

Just a little something I wrote months ago (before the game's release actually) but I still like it, so here it is:

Fjalar had to bit his tongue for preventing himself from making some snarky comment. It was easy for Cassandra to order him to stay still, really, when she was the one holding the scissors. But it was from his head the blades were getting closer, and he liked himself with two ears, thank you very much.

 

“Is this really necessary?” he protested. “My hairs are fine the way they are.”

 

No mention it was freezing in this bathroom and he was shirtless. The innkeeper had begged for forgiveness, explaining his regular customers weren’t the type to wash more than twice a year and he didn’t usually waste woods on heating up an empty room, yet his lady had assured the man it would do before dismissing him impatiently. Big talk, really, coming from someone fully dressed.

 

“No, they aren’t,” the Seeker countered, speaking slowly like she was addressing a stubborn child. “They are too long and that’s why you need a haircut.”

 

“Why are you the one deciding they’re too long anyway? You’re not my mother,” he grumbled, rubbing his arms in a vain attempt to chase the goose bumps away.

 

Cassandra rolled her eyes. “No, I’m your lover, which feels more or less the same to me at the moment. Now hush!”

 

The dwarf sighed and lowered his eyes. A pang of sadness clutched at his heart when he saw the first lock cut by the blades falling on the ground. However, he was forced to give some credits to Cassandra: she was working fast, and she announced the ordeal was over in no time. Reluctantly he looked up at the mirror; both his ears were still here, which was good, but his hairs were so short he wondered why she had not simply shaved them off with a razor.

 

“The moment will come you’ll regret doing this to me, Cass,” he said gloomily. 

 

“I don’t see how I could regret making that big head of yours a little lighter, love,” she snorted.

 

“You will tonight,” Fjalar assured her. “You will when we’ll be making love and you’ll find yourself with no hair to bury your fingers into anymore.”

 

“I’m sure I’ll survive,” she smiled wryly. “Besides I may have fewer hairs to grab but I can see your pretty eyes once again. No mention the others will be grateful as well, since you should no longer mistake them with our foes.”

 

“It only happened once,” the Inquisitor groaned, “and I apologized to Cole afterwards. It’s not fair to bring that incident up every time you want to have the last word.”

 

“Like I need it to begin with,” the Seeker smirked, and she pressed a kiss on his cheek. “You know, I’m sure your beard could use a trim too.”

 

“You’re a cruel, cruel woman, you know that?” Fjalar groaned as he brought a protective hand up to his beard.

 

Really, what was he thinking the day he had fallen for her? She was nothing but a demon wearing the shape of a temptress...
