Me too.  I like when it's not a 'perfect' state.  The only way that I can see Bhelen making sense for an Aeducan warden is if s/he is "ride or die Aeducan" or appreciates the Orzammar version of The Game so much that s/he can overlook the whole betrayal part.  Any other Aeducan should go for Harrowmont.  For Brosca, I just can't see any situation at all where s/he wouldn't want to put Bhelen on the throne given that it would elevate your family to nobility and, potentially, put your nephew in line for the throne.  Harrowmont offers really nothing at all for Brosca, in my opinion.

Yeah, basically. Endrin allows you to be exiled because trying to prevent it would have caused a scandal and lost House Aeducan the throne, so I went into the Orzammar mission with that in mind, the house comes first.

As my current PT approaches the end I start wondering what build can I plan for my next character, the evilest dwarf ever known.

But here's the problem: I've already played a warrior and a rogue. I don't want him to be exactly like them or companions of the same class.

My first was a Qunari 2H warrior and reaver. My Lavellan is this cool and balanced mix of subterfuge, archery and assassin.

So how can I come up with a build that isn't entirely the same as theirs or the companions? What makes this task even harder is that most alternatives seem pointless. I checked the warrior sub classes and honestly, they're horrible. I hate the fact that they're so defense centered, with very few skills being actually offensive.

As for the rogue route, Tempest seems pretty awesome. But what would be my initial skillset? Daggers? Archery? If it's the former, does it make sense to use it without adding stealth? Every character that uses daggers seems to fight that way.

Sabotage... I have mixed feelings about that one. Not sure if it's worth spending my points.

I can't tell you what build to go for, but you can make the dwarf feel different from your other characters with either of these perspectives:

Warrior: You can pick the templar route. There's dwarf-specific commentary in going down that path and as an ex-Carta, you can easily RP it as using your connections to get your hands on the lyrium you need.

Rogue: Varric will talk to you about the artificer spec and you'd gain a star option in your dialogue with Bianca at Valammar. Dwarves like to blow stuff up. It fits.

What Gilsa said, and actually a lot depends on which abilities you focus on most. Since you're melee as a warrior, you do need some points into defensive abilities. I believe battlemaster is more focuses on DPS (and honestly, my defensive-specced S&S champion actually does pretty respectable damage.) Champion works for roleplay if you're playing a power hungry thug.

My dwarven rogue is like your Lavellan, though a little sabotage in place of subterfuge. However my dual-wielding qunari with subterfuge kicks butt; I plan to give him tempest. I think it makes a lot of sense to go with dual-wield/subterfuge/tempest or artificer if you really want him to be a serious Cadash thug. Probably artificer if you're RPing him as very traditionally dwarven.

Yep as an Aeducan I knew full well that Bhelen was the better choice but I just couldn't bring myself to choose him after he framed me. Not to mention that before you are exiled you meet Harrowmont who believes that you are innocent. Bottom line is that I just don't have enough in me to have Harrowmont killed after he put his trust into future Warden Aeducan :(

I'm glad that I've been collecting money on my Cadash. I've been holding off on actual "playing" until the Black Emporium came out. Hopefully all the new armor and weapons look really badass. http://www.dragonage.../black-emporium

I've just finished my playthrough with Fjalar on PS4 today. It was pretty epic (and epically pretty! The graphics on next-gen consoles are totally jaw-dropping) and now Fjal' is ready for the Jaws of Hakkon when they'll be released. I'm also eagerly waiting for the Black Emporium. I really hope there will be some kick-ass Dwarf-only schematics for weapons and armors! :D

I'm also done reading all the Dwarves books. Really enjoyed it; I felt my eyes watering a few times. The sad thing is, I now need something else to read. :(

Oh, neat, two more thrones are being added. I love when we get more customization options, but I must admit that I'm curious why there isn't a dwarven throne. We don't even need to judge a dwarf. There are several spread out in the Deep Roads that we can just haul back with us. Or tell Varric he needs to give up the one by his table. ;)

I'm grateful that we at least have some dwarven customization for Skyhold. Hopefully Bioware will feed into our pain and provide more dwarven-only schematics.

By the way, could you provide me with the name of the author the Dwarves books are by...? I've tried to search the web, but there are more than one book about dwarves. Thanks in-advance. :)

Started a new playthrough with a female DW Rogue who looks like Harding and has the British voice.

Loving her.

I can't wait! I have several who need some cosmetic (literally) repairs.

Yeah, I'm a bit frustrated that the Legion of the Dead armor schematic is essentially not available until almost the end of the game. The only thing you really see earlier is the Carta rogue armor you can get in the Hinterlands (and I usually have armor with better stats by the time I get it).

I love my dwarven archer rogue with AWR's voice, it really suits how I play her. And welcome!

I came across this GIF on tumblr and laughed my butt off. I didn't even view it as a bug. Just Cadash making fun of Orlesian nobility the way only a Carta could. It's great!

Gilsa, that's awesome! xD

Also, hello all. I'm Brain Defect and dwarves are my favourite race in Dragon Age. It's a damn shame that so few people play as them. They're missing out for sure. In my opinion Dwarf Noble and Dwarf Commoner were the best character origins in DAO. I don't know how anyone can say that a Human Noble was the best one, for me it was little better than a Dalish Elf(which I thought, was booooring), only because of the fact you can become a King/Queen in the end.

It's awesome how being a Dwarf affected your decision about choosing a king. My Brosca choose Bhelen, because ofc she wanted to support her sister. Though, having read all the discussion here, choosing Harrowmont doesn't sound bad.

I have always thought that it would have been fun to, as Aeducan, support Bhelen the whole time, and then after finding the Crown, choose Harrowmont as king. Does Bhelen say something specific to Warden Aeducan then?

Anyway, my Aeducan chose Harrowmont. Just seemed like a best option to me. I haven't even considered Bhelen. I thought that helping him would be damn awkward, and not fair at all to Harrowmont, since he actually believed in my Warden and helped her.

Though I'm a damn weirdo and in the Keep i chose Bhelen as king on that save. XD'

I'm playing a lady Dwarf at the moment. Love the fact that I'm a Cadash, just like my favourite DAO companion <3.

Meet Cara, little assassin. :)

Fjalar went totally flabbergasted when he found out Cass was expecting to be courted "properly".

That said, today I've made a dwarf inquisitor DW rogue named Logan. Go, my little wolverine! <3

Oh. My. Freaking. Dwarf. This is golden!  :P  :D

"Look at me. I'm a fancy Orlesian noble." - Carta Rat   Ugh, I just love that.

Oh my... Cadash/Cassandra =Pentash (new name for the couple, Merela)  . Fjalar looking badass as always. I'm just so surprised that you were able to recreate Fjalar.

Oh, here is Cespar Gallgin(The Gallgin family is a well-known family of the arts, which is basically writing, drawing, singing, and other types of performances.) Cespar was the first dwarf in the family born with Cipher abilities. (POE):  By the way, all of that's role playing information that I've made up.

Pentash? I like the sound of that. Also recreating Fjalar on PS4 wasn't difficult; I've lost so many characters in the Frozen Hell bug that I've come to know his sliders by heart. I've just tweaked some of them a little; his cheekbones are just a bit sharper and his eyes are more honey brown than plain brown, but that's it.

Also I like your Cipher! I went with a warrior myself; Thogdil (I regret nothiiiiing) is a mercenary who saw too many deaths on the battlefield and decided to start a new life far away from Aedyr. Sadly he hadn't expected the wolves in Dyrwood to be so hard to kill.

I remember my Cadash (avatar) by heart since he's my favorite. If I tried to tweak an old character, he would be so different than the original.  :P  :)

I just wanted to try a class that was different and wasn't accepted so much in the world. Plus, him being a Cipher has make him a little aggressive and cruel, since his family was hard on him because of his abilities, but he still will say clever things every now and then. He's just a writer trying to find his inspiration, but you and I know that fate had other plans for him  ;) . He doesn't trust Aloth and is indifferent about Egar. Hopefully, he'll learn to trust them and loosing up on his  "the world has done me wrong, so I'll do the world wrong" attitude.
