Been awhile since I checked with this thread.

 

Great to see such interesting conversations on the titans, and theories on the dwarfs. Always make for great reads.

 

I've been playing Jaws of Hakkon DLC (Ps4) user and I've been really enjoying it. 

 

I love the additional info on the Avvar, and how this DLC has added new depth and perspective on them which up to this point as has been very limited. 

 

If the rumors are true about next DLC being on the Deep Roads then it makes me even more excited and hopeful about getting new lore on the dwarfs, darkspawn and to explore the Deep Roads some more

Found a very old response by Mr. Gaider on dwarves and dreaming.
"Dwarves do not enter the Fade when they dream, yes. This doesn't mean they are barred from the Fade (as is evident from the fact that a demon can force them in), they simply do not go there naturally.

There's a very good reason for why they don't enter the Fade. I'm not going to tell you what that is, but I will say that it has nothing to do with their resistance to magic. Rather the reverse: their resistance to magic comes from the fact that they don't enter the Fade -- which also allows them to mine dangerous lyrium better than other races would.

Will we ever discuss the reason they don't enter the Fade? Possibly. If that makes you pout, then sorry. "

As we find out in conversation with Cole, the anchor 'fills us' and this is, i believe, is how Solas can talk to us in that dream.

Just thought id share this with everyone as it took me a little while to sort of figure it out.

@themageguy -- I think this will be addressed eventually and dwarves will get to be the star of the show at some point. I'm very curious in what happened to sever the connection to the fade. The plot thickens.

I agree with you. I hope there is something in the next DL, especially if the rumors are true about it involving the deep roads/dark spawn/grey wardens.
Though im sure it will be much more prominent in the next dragon age game

My memory is hazy because it's been so long, but I remember being really disappointed with Golems of Amgarrak. My dwarf was a returning Paragon, but she got acknowledged like any regular warden. She could have been an elf as far as they were concerned. Blah.

Oh, I hadn't seen that post before, at least not the whole thing, thank you! Though looking at the original post that he was responding to and his answer, now I know where I had the impression that dwarves still dream, they just don't enter the Fade when they do.

OK, this is probably the best hair mod I've seen because it gets to the heart of most hair complaints. It fixes the receding hairilne and removes the sideburns. This mod only affects a few hairstyles because they don't all share the same scalp. Took a screenshot in CC of what the change looks like on a dwarf female. (I didn't think to see if it impacted the males as well.)

I just tell myself that that just means when they do give us one, it'll be so good that it's the one everyone raves about. I can dream anyway

Yeah you can see why many people got very confused about the whole dreaming and dwarves issue.

In origins id assumed it was through the taint. In inquisition, the solas dream scene seemed odd until the conversation with cole where he says the mark fills the dwarven inquisitor.

Probably true, but it's still bizarre that you can't actually ask about that as a dwarf...

Man... I need to get around to replaying Inquisition, haven't played it since Jaws of Hakkon and patch 2... I also need to figure out how to install mods, because I've got a list I've been meaning to go through and add into the game, particularly hair mods. Seeing some nice ones on here. Doubt I'll change Dorn's hairstyle but it'd be nice to have his hair look better. I think Witch 3 hair is spoiling me with its beards blowing in the wind It's making me miss my dwarf, and I still haven't finished a play with my elf or human inquisitors yet.

 

(Side note: Yup! Still here. Been super busy here... moved into a new apartment, day job kept me busy with all the the studying, training and stress... but I recently put my 2 week's notice in so I should I have more time soon. Just wasn't a good fit plus I got hired by Dragon Con as their paid intern Graphic Designer and I'll be replacing their current full time graphic designer after this year's con. Couldn't turn that job down. )
