That was great, vertigomez.
Leliana/Brosca is one of my favorite Origin pairings.
Your Brosca was wonderfully fleshed out. And his interactions with Leliana were top notch.

I second the request for more. Those two make an adorable pairing...

OK, sorry this one took so much longer than usual. I don't usually have writer's block like this...

Not DAI-related (but still dwarfy!), but this song is haunting me right now. Both versions are putting tears in my eyes.
Listening to "Song of Durin," while reading up on the dwarf lore on the DA Wiki is a powerful combo especially reflecting on everything the dwarves have lost. ![]()
I need more dwarf content. Come on Inquisition. Let's visit some of the fallen thaigs, and further help the cause of the dwarves.
In the meantime, I'll probably start up DA: Origins. As much as I like my Cadashes, Aeducan and Brosca will always win out probably bc the playable origins and how much depth they give into not just the character's background but into the dwarf world and culture. It doesn't hurt that they can become Paragons. ![]()
Okay, it's decided off to restart Origins. ![]()

As much as I love my Brosca, Cadash feels more personal and alive for me. He/she is going to be the one to change how the people of Thedas views dwarves. Brosca/Aeducan saved Ferelden, but Cadash saved Thedas. He/she is way more important than a Paragon.
Plus, I've more passion/fun writing fan fiction and connecting with my Cadash than I did with my Brosca.
Of course, Brosca is still dear to my heart, and he'll always be. ![]()

Yeah, got the same feeling. I mean, I adore Galar Brosca and Freyja Aeducan and I still plan to write about them, but still, it's Fjalar I prefer. Him having a voice and facial expressions count a lot, I guess. The formers I never heard except in combat or while interracting with things ("Can I get you a ladder so you can get off my back" to you too, Gal'
) and they were as expressive as a rock (except for Return at Ostagar and the creepy facial expressions in romance/DR scenes). While Fjal', I know how he sounds when he's happy, when he's pissed, when he's worried and when he's in love, and I know the way he smiles and the face he does when he's going to bite someone's head off.
I really hope, if Bioware keep making multi-race character selections in the future games, that one day NPCs will comment about how dwarves keep saving the days if you played Brosca/Cadash/Other dwarven PC. That would be great. ![]()
I love Narasi Brosca and she'll always have a place in my heart but Alcina Cadash just connects with me. She's more alive to me so it makes connecting a lot easier.
I have a blast writing fanfic and dreaming up fanart for her. I usually make my first PT my canon (usually a rogue named Ryal) but this warrior Cadash changed that. She may be my third PT but she's completely stolen the show.
I'm having fun writing fanfic for dwarven IQs, but I just can't connect to my Cadashes the same way I did to Koshka Brosca or my Aeducan. I think that's mostly because I'm not even mildly enthusiastic about any of the LIs for a female dwarf, and partly because they feel shoehorned in at times. There may have been a couple of oversights with a Brosca or Aeducan in fitting them into the story, but the origins and the Orzammar content really anchored them in the story.

Yea, the emotionless facial expression of Cespar Brosca played a huge role in why I couldn't connect very well with him. People around would give their heart out to him, but he would still look at them with that dead stare. It was really bad with Leliana (my old love) and him had their special time together, and he would look at her like all of the other Npcs. Come on, Brosca, this is the girl of your dream. Pentash (Lady Pentaghast and Master Cadash
) are a couple that I've connected really well with, and it's nice to see them show how they feel about each other with facial expression, especially during the poetry scene when Cespar walked behind Cassandra. The way he looked at her showed me a hell of a lot more than BroscaxLeliana sex scene.
I respect everyone else who prefer their warden to the inquisitor, but some people prefer the Inquisitor to the warden. We just aren't very vocal about it.

All of my Dragon Age's life, I've been waiting for some Npc to talk about all of the heroes been dwarven.
We came a little bit close with the warden's letter to the same race inquisitor. ![]()
Aeducan was my first character at all in Bioware, much less Dragon Age. I think I had to register on the forums to get some DLC so I used the same name as the character I was playing and ever since then, she's been the symbol of everything I like about Bioware Games (DA, Mass Effect, etc). So I will always be fond of Aeducan for nostalgic reasons. I really love that Aeducan had a personal message for Cadash in the HoF letter so her presence still permeates future content.
I will say that one of the more challenging moments in Inquisition was trying to separate my inner Aeducan from Cadash. Cadash had no history with Morrigan, no real reason to be hostile with her (and she also had no real reason to spontaneously grin at Morrigan, which happened four times involuntarily /eye roll). Aeducan would have never let Morrigan have the well, but Cadash had no interest in it. I mean, I went with Cadash's RP, but I was very tempted to break character for Aeducan's benefit. ![]()
Kader was my first surface dwarf. Very little content with her in Awakening, but it was fun trying to imagine what a surface dwarf would think of the Deep Roads stuff and honoring the casteless sacrifice for the Shaperate memories and so on. Not a very satisfying game, but it was a nice exercise in a different perspective.
I made a recording of a Dwarven children's story from WoT2, I also posted it, and a few non Dwarven ones, in the World of Thedas Volume 2: Chantry, Chantry, Chantry thread.
How the Deepstalker Came to Be
a common tale said to be originally told by Paragon Ebryan, writer of Songs That Only Nugs Can Hear. Many dwarves tales for children involve deepstalkers

You've a soothing voice, Lady Artifice. Thanks for that. ![]()
It's great to read how people connected with their characters whether they were a Brosca, an Aeducan, or a Cadash. And how these great dwarfs inspired people's creativity and their muses to create works of fanfiction and fanart. So that a universal truth could be spread: dwarves are awesome.
And here's hoping for more dwarf content in Inquisition and future Dragon Age games.
Funny thing is that I was THIIIIIS close to starting with Brosca first. I remember thinking, "Pfft, I'm not playing a princess. Pass." I said as much to my husband, but he said that he read up on the origins and that the devs were particularly proud of the noble storyline. Don't recall why, but it was probably the cutthroat politics since that wasn't the norm for fantasy dwarves. I remember being surprised by the brutality of dwarven ranks and the fierce pride they had for their home. It was really refreshing and I just ate up the lore from there.
I actually started with Aeducan, because at the time, I was still stuck on the "traditional dwarf"and Aeducan seemed right up the alley. We had the dwarven son taking over the army, the jealous little brother who wasn't that good at anything, besides having a golden tongue, and the big brother who was next in line to become the king. We had the shield that ran in the family, (how I miss the Aeducan shield, it was very weird getting the Aeducan's mace as Brosca) which we all know that dwarves are the greatest warriors, so some kind of weapon had to run in the family. So pretty much Aeducan's origins story was very "dwarven."
Then came Brosca, and then there was Cadash. "Criminals" saving the world, one country at a time. ![]()
Soo... I've finally caught up in the Game Of Throne. I've falling in love with Daenerys Targaryen (
), and the love has poured into my Dragon Age's characters (Cadash).

Looking good, sir!
That makes me think, there used to be sliders in the CC Reddit subforum for making a lady dwarf look like Emilia Clark, if anyone is interested. ![]()

Thanks! That white hair, though!
We need a LI with white hair or have Emilia Clark voice a LI. Better yet, have Miss Clark voice a LI with white hair. Even better, have the LI be based off of Miss Clark.

PS: Sometimes her hair look white and then other times it look like bleach blonde.
I decided to start a new DA:I playthrough on Hard difficulty today (I want that trophy). And with no hesitation, I went with a 2H dwarf Warrior (future Champion) named Thogrim.

Sadly that beard model glitches through his nose, so I headed to the BE as soon as possible.

I prefered the old beard, I admit, but this one will do!
Nice Cadash, Merela.
I like the beard upgrade. It suits him better.
My first Dwarf was a two handed champion. (It's good to be a champion)
I already have my next Cadash planned. I'm thinking archer/artificer. I'm going to start him up when new DLC (deep roads
) comes out.

You should probably start him early so when the Dlc is out, you won't have to rush just to get to it.

Hmm, the chance to start playing another Cadash earlier then planned...
Sounds good to me. ![]()
Just created Orion Cadash.
I found the name fitting for my archer/hunter/artificer.
Looking forward to another dwarf playthru

I need to finish my dwarf since E3 is now over with. Those reveals held me back. ![]()
