Id love to see a Spoils of Orzammer item pack. That would be oh....so sweet.
Maybe we would finally get a dwarven throne. And decorations like in Orzammar. Lava fountains maybe? ![]()
Guys.... We can only hope now. *Holds excitement.* ![]()
Would you brave the darkspawn-infested Deep Roads in search of lost dwarven treasure? http://bit.ly/1eh50Lt #DAI
There isn't a dwarf alive who remembers the Deep Roads as they once were. They were the network of tunnels that joined the thaigs together. To be honest, it isn't even right to give them such a simple term as "tunnels": they are works of art, with centuries of planning demonstrated in the geometry of their walls, with the statues of the Paragons that watch over travelers, with the flow of lava that keeps the Deep Roads lit and warm. The cloudgazers up on the surface talk of the Imperial Highway built by the magisters of old, a raised walkway that crossed thousands of miles, something that could only have been built by magic. Perhaps it is comparable to the Deep Roads, although we dwarves didn't need magic.
I suppose it doesn't matter anymore. The darkspawn rule the Deep Roads now. When Orzammar sealed off the entrances to the Deep Roads, abandoning everything that lay out there, we handed over the kingdom-that-was to those black bastards forever. To think that there are genlocks crawling over Bownammar now, tearing down our statues and defiling our greatest works! Corruption covers everything we built out there. Every dwarf who goes out and comes back says that it gets worse with each passing year, the foulness spread a little further.
And the cloudgazers think the darkspawn are gone just because they aren't spilling out onto the surface? Huh. One day, when Orzammar is gone for good, they'll find out differently. Those darkspawn won't have anywhere else to go but up, and they'll do it. The surface folk will have themselves a Blight that will never end.

Guys.... We can only hope now. *Holds excitement.*

I would like to se more of dwarves in future games, maybe something that will lead up to something that makes them grow again and not die out.
I believe that's Orzammar's problem, because of the darkspawns. We don't really know if it's a problem for Northern Thedas' dwarves.
Yeah if I remember correctly dwarven numbers in Orzammar are dwindling because their proximity to the darkspawn/taint/etc. is affecting fertility. Not sure if Kal-Sharok or surface dwarves face such issues.
My current head canon has Cadash family fertility unaffected since Alcina's parents produced 4 children with relatively no issues. They've been long removed from Orzammar.
Would be nice to visit Kal-Sharok. Read somewere that they was possibly tainted and closer to the blight than Orzammar.
I really would like to visit Kal-Sharok as well. That small mission on the Table with some of the dwarves living there was nice. Their motto also reminded me strongly of the Grey Warden's one.
On a different subject: I followed your advices, Ces, and changed a few things in my fic. Thanks for the review. ![]()

That's been speculated, but I'm not certain there's any firm evidence of that.

No prob, and I'll take a look. I'm going to pm you back in a little. ![]()
I hope we're giving back origin stories for DA4, which would kind of introduce us to Northern Thedas. A chance to choose between the Kal-Sharok's dwarf or Ambassadoria's dwarf would be a great way to show us how different those two groups of dwarves are. It would be really fun role-playing a dwarf with the taint.
I need this to be true.
I need some single player DLC

That would be great, I'd really like the schematics for Carta armour (to spare us having to mod it in) or proper Legion armour (with the heraldry). Would be fun to see the return of some old armour sets as well, such as the Hirol's Defence set or Golem's Might from Awakening, because who doesn't want a Paragon's armour or some armour that was made out of a Golem shell?

A Dwarven throne is something I've wanted from launch, Endrin had a pretty sweet looking one in Origins.
I'd love some Paragon statues decorating the throne room (like those near the vault). For some added fun, perhaps they could come with some codex entries from Gatsi critiquing the "poor" craftmanship of the shaper (perhaps an old rival) who carved them... because we all know by now, you can take the dwarf from Orzammar, but you can't take the Orzammar out of the dwarf.

Such handsome men, all with beards! ![]()
I think they are... and knowing my luck, if we do get a Deep Roads DLC, it'll be on the one day I decided not to check the forums. Seriously, it happens every single time I decide to spend the day catching up on my book reading.
Gaming is making it very hard to be a bookworm these days.

So there's something that's been bothering me about dwarves.
Namely, the abundance of dwarf ghosts running around. Is this a result of their souls not heading to the Fade after death, or do spirits just become fascinated by these creatures they never see in the Fade and try to live out the dramatic bits of their lives in hope of understanding?

I haven't seen any ghost dwarves. I think that maybe spirits could take their form like you said.
I was mostly thinking of the ghosts of the Casteless warriors in Kal'hirol in Awakening. ![]()
Also, the dwarf prince of a thaig falling to darkspawn that was possessed by a demon is still curious to me.
Hmm, a reference to the Deep Roads, now this today. I do think they're trying to tell us something. At least I hope they wouldn't wind us up with nothing behind it, sigh.
As far as dwarven ghosts, I don't see why they should be any more surprising than other ghosts...

I don't think they were Ghost, but something else. They didn't react to the Warden like spirits would.
Dwarves aren't cut off from the fade, but they just don't go there when they sleep. Well, expect Inquisitor Cadash. He/she's a special case.

Those were the memories of the stone. Or rather lyrium, which is what dwarves really refer to when they talk about stone sense and stuff. Lyrium absorbs people and the memories and possibly souls of those people, and makes it become part of the lyrium. This is how dwarven ancestors live on to guide the dwarven people, they become part of lyrium itself. Obviously the stone/lyrium was showing its memories of what happened there to anyone who found the place afterward. I think the stone wanted people to know what the casteless did, the unknown sacrifice they made. It helps that those same casteless became part of the lyrium collective, because that gave the lyirum a personal reason for showing what they did while they were alive.
I needed some dwarfiness in my life since BW seems intent on trolling us. I decided to make it a family affair and create Alcina's second oldest brother, Doudrin. I'll play him so I can get my PS4 hard PT trophy. I'll be back to post pictures of him later.
Now to the discussion at hand, I thought dwarves were cut off from the Fade??? And that the reason why they are may have to do with the Titans? I might be mixing up the various "lore" BW has been putting out these days.
