Bioware is trolling us! I've lost all faith with all the poor communication (or lack thereof) ![]()

I am absolutely loving how Bioware is putting out dwarven lore at the same time as #Dwarf Appreciation Week is happening on tumblr. If this doesn't lead to a DLC, at least the timing was good, y'know? =p
If they do put out a dwarven DLC, the only thing that I hope for is a dwarven throne since they gave the qunari one in the last pack. Everything else will be a surprise.

Yes, it's good timing, and I'm balanced between hope and the feeling we're being trolled since the armor pack released was qunari, not dwarven...
Edit: Speaking of the armor pack, does anyone have the modded female body who has tried the armor pack? If it doesn't override the body mod, I'm tempted to get it. Otherwise, I'd just be emphasizing what I dislike about the vanilla body, lol...

The modifications to the Skyhold pajama meshes are not universal changes, meaning other armors are not impacted by it. To change specific armors, those would need to be extracted and changed as well. Now from what I've read in modding threads, the gist is that DLC files are encrypted so it's difficult to extract those meshes/textures to modify them. Modders tend to leave the DLC files alone because -- and I'm not fully clear on the why -- they don't want to risk getting banned for cracking these files. Might be a piracy thing since not everyone pays for DLC.

That armor is totally for fan service, and I'm okay with it.

Which saves me the cost of buying the DLC, lol. Why spend money to emphasize something you already dislike intensely? I don't care about bare midriffs nearly enough to put up with returning to the extreme Dalish and dwarf body types. I'd only be tempted if I played male IQs more than occasionally.

You know, the one that warns you about how you'll be eventually discarded once you start getting old.
Beraht is obviously younger, so maybe this beggar already was a middle aged man when he joined the Carta?

Looked up Beraht and Goilinar's info in the toolset. Here's what it says about them:
Name: Beraht
Age: 50
Cultural background: Casteless dwarf.
Description: The dwarven crime lord who controls the PC's family. Successful smuggler; confident; built a criminal empire from nothing.
Purpose: Nemesis for the PC; killed at end of origin story.
Speech Patterns: Swaggering, slang-heavy, fairly modern sound and cadence.
VO Casting Notes: Patrick Fraley
Demeanor: Rude, in-your-face, mob-boss-y
Flaws: Overconfident.
Personal Background: Beraht used his ties to the surface to smuggle lyrium and start a criminal empire. He rules the casteless of Orzammar through fear and bribery.
Special Skills: Really pissing off the PC.
Accent: None, but slang-heavy.
Appearance: Jowly, heavy-set dwarf; nouveau riche
Archetype: Crime boss.
Relationship to Player: Starts as player's boss, becomes his nemesis, then is killed by him.
Ties to other Characters: Pimp to Rica; lover to Jarvia; boss to Leske.
Name: Goilinar
Age: 45
Description: Homeless dwarf who hits up the player for money and taunts him about his life.
Purpose: info-giver about dwarf commoner PC's first quest; local slums color
Speech Patterns: Aggressive and ungrammatical.
VO Casting Notes: Rob Beckwith
(Goilinar hurt his leg in the mines and was forced to resign himself to begging.)

Ahaha. This is so true. My casteless wanted to shank him as soon as he opened his mouth.

Ok. We dwarven's fans might as well confirm a dwarf-related DLC.

Bioware needs to learn the middle way between "announcing they're releasing a DLC the YOLO-way aka the day after the announcement" and "killing slowly their fans with teasing". ![]()

I forgot how they use to do it. Oh, right, they would announce it on their blog. We would usually get a tralier after that, which would tell us the release date. Speculating on the tralier would soon begin after that.
I can't wait until we are giving more dwarven's lore. I need more of the dwarven's lore to speculate on. The Cole and Kieran's lines were great, but we've already took them apart.

Agreed. The wait is killing.
Can I get a trailer, please? Or some background info on the DLC so that I can plan my current Inquisitors around it and figure the best time to play it.
I'm just hoping its not some MP DLC. MP is alright, but I play Dragon Age for the story, the lore, and the characters and with something as awesome and interesting as the dwarves, darkspawn, and the Deep Roads it would be a shame if it was only explored in MP. Where it couldn't be done as well as with SP.
Just my opinion no need to spread it around.

Didn't get very far with my last run (DA burnout after 300 hours), so back to playing and starting a new game again after a few months gap (and Witcher 3).
Slight face modification and more dlc to play with now ![]()
Jack is back, and I'm liking the Avvar look ![]()

Oh, sod it, please don't let all this teasing be for something for MP. I have almost 0 interest in multiplayer (other than maybe an occasional drunken fun run with people I know.)

@Drumknott -- Oh, that looks great! I'm personally getting the itch to replay my canon again even though I was crashing and burning on my last run. Flycam now has the ability to pause cutscenes (that's going to make my next game even longer), there's more mods out that I'd like to try, and with all these dwarf teasing, I just feel like we might get some dwarf love (even if it's a simple throne and one outfit like the qunari and avaars got recently).
@Tish -- I hear ya. I don't do MP either.
