Dunno; maybe there are new Specializations in the DLC, and hers allows for Legionnaire Scout which includes weapon and armor proficiencies....

Or maybe it's her sister! :D

Or we can just hope that it's a new badass female dwarf npc that doesn't have any ties to people we already know.  ;)  :D

Priorities. I barely have enough money to live on, and a Wii U is more important than a PS4. I need one for Xenoblade X, which is more important than any amount of DLC for DAI. After that, then I will saving money for a PS4. And it's going to take nearly all the time left until December (when Xenoblade X comes out) to even get a Wii U. So I'll be able to play the deep roads dlc by... Mid-2016, if I'm lucky?

Exposition.

The armour does look far more intricate and dwarven than any previous darkspawn armours we've seen, which lore says are scavenged and patched-together by the ghouls in the horde, although they do have a similar aesthetic love of spikes for the intimidation factor.

The hands also seem far more "human" (or I guess I should say "dwarven") and less corrupted than most darkspawn we've seen, who have hands that are often clawed and elongated slightly. The glowing eyes also match how WoT described the denizens of Kal-Sharok as having an intense, otherworldly look that is weirdly remiscent of both darkspawn and Wardens.

Personally, I'm hoping these are Kal-Sharok Dwarves and not just redesigned Genlocks, they look badass.

The Kal-Sharok dwarves could have used the same method of scavenging armor parts, especially if they have been living down in the Deep Roads for awhile.

Besides, rumor has it that Kal-Sharok could very well be inflected with the taint, which would explain those glowing eyes. But, I don't believe those glowing eyes come from the taint, but Lyrium. Remember, Anders (DA2) when he turned to Vengeance had those glowing blue eyes, which is very similar to those "dwarves" shown in the trailer.

Whatever they are, we'll be fighting them.

I will not lie, reading all the complainings of people about The Descent on social networks gives me no little amount of schadenfreude: "Who wanted to return to the Deep Roads?!" "That's not the DLC I was asking for!" "Are they even listening to their fans anymore?!" "Who cares about dwarves?!"

While we here are celebrating and being excited about it. :D

Ditto. I even have some friends complaining and then they realize I'm a dwarf player and they apologize and tone it down, but they're still complaining. I'm like, "I'll send you guys a postcard from the Deep Roads! See ya!" =p

I made my Cadash some new Legion of the Dead armour so she has something stylish to wear to the Deep Roads. Only I'm terrible at taking screen shots. Just look:

That's the best I managed to get, and I cut off her feet! Meanwhile, Dorian refused to get in formation and steals the shot.

That's some nice Legion armor

It's also possible that her (and the male dwarf) are temporary companions

Now the big question is: will they be romanceable? :P

I think they will be temporary companions like Gatt. But, they are missing in some of the scenes. I'm hoping that we will meet up with them in Orzammar, but most likely it's going to be on the Storm Coast.

So who here feels like the new DLC will explore the Titans that Kieran mentioned? Me, just me?

I don't know if that is a glitch or not, because she is wearing her axe and shield with both outfits. The first outfit is the Carta Coat and the second one is the Legion of the Dead armor. I thought maybe that they could be them companions like Tallis, but with the inquisitor does the fire magic and when they are walking across the bridge, there are six people.

Fortunately, other than wistfulness that we get some new companion/advisor interactions (once their fears were eased that this is not the final DLC,) I haven't heard much. Of course, that might have to do with the fact that most of the people I follow on Tumblr are in dwarfdom or are at least friendly to dwarfdom.  :P  Me, I assume there's actually something important at the end of this trip, and maybe they realized dwarves really got the short end of the stick in DAI in terms of content (pun intended.) Qunari got an LI in the first playable game and devs have been making noises about a qunari invasion for a bit too, though I do feel they got even more short-changed in terms of content, but otoh, none of the game takes place in areas where there are or have been qunari to speak of.

Yea, some people on these forums want the secret to have something to do with elves.

I will concede that they left something hanging at the end of the game I'd like answered too, so I can't entirely blame them for that hope. ;) But otoh, except for some places where they clearly didn't rewrite human dialogue very well (or at all,) elves got at least as much attention as humans, so there's something more than a little self-centered about complaints from them that some of the balance is being fixed, especially since we have to pay extra for the content...

I'm really hoping we will see "lively" parts of the Deeproads. A mercenary camp or explorers making a halt at an outpost.

Having news of your choice regarding Orzammar King could also be referenced pretty easily via passing dialogue. Just to ear a bit more how the city is doing.

Just how short is the dwarven gestation period?

Oghren's son was conceived after DAO and by the beginning of the DAA, he has already been born.

Now, here is the thing. Urthemiel and The Mother are both slain in 9:31. Taking into account that, during DAA, you can mine granite and rebuild the walls of the Vigil with it and mine silverite and make armor for multiple soldiers with it, you'd think DAA would take place over the better part of 9:31.

So, what, do dwarven pregnancies only take a couple of months?

Addressed by David Gaider: http://forum.bioware...ancy-in-thedas/

Poster: From what little is known about the races and childbearing, it seems like the length of pregnancy for some of the races differs from the usual nine month period for humans. Dwarves seem particularly short, since we see that Felsi and Oghren had their baby within approximately 6 months. Was this intentional or just a timeline flub? I would imagine that Elves would be fairly similar to humans, since they can crossbreed. Qunari are a mystery, and it seems there is relatively little known about the infancy of Darkspawn. Just that they come from a Broodmother.

Do Darkspawn have an infancy period? Or are they born prepared for battle and in their state as we see them? I almost picture them having a larval state, but I could be wrong. andy.png

David Gaider: The period of gestation in any story exists in direct correlation to the amount of hand-waving required by the plot, so ranging all the way from InstaBaby ™ to EternaBaby ™.

This is known as the "Baby in a Goldfish Bowl" Effect.

As for darkspawn, you saw their larval stage (or a mutated version thereof) in Awakening, actually.

Don't forget how Mardy can have a kid roughly a couple months after the DN's commencement ceremony -- Dagna says it takes like... two weeks and four days to get from Orzammar to the Circle -- so yeah, there is a love of having Dwarves pop out babies like they're Krogan.
