Wow!! That's just stupendous! The outfits totally feel lore-friendly, too. Great job.

Thank you, Gil'! Askthebroodyelf really did a great job. Fjal' outfit is based on a "retexture for Halamshiral outfits" mod I once saw on Tumblr, and Cass' dress is based on a real medieval-themed wedding dress. I'm happy it suits her so well.

Corypheus actually only has red lyrium grafted onto his person in Inquisition, as a result of Bianca contacting him and him discovering it bears the taint and thus allows him to use it as fuel for his spells along with the whole 'power of the Blight' thing. Look at his Legacy rendition. It's absent.

Remember, the Magisters of old were reputed to have used the blood of countless slaves and 2/3 of the lyrium they had to breach the Fade, but it's clear that it happened in their homeland (see the note on the Claws of Dumat. It takes place in Sethius' home).

It's also a fact that a kossith settlement in the south of the Korcari Wilds fell prey to the Darkspawn before the Magisters entered the Golden City by about 20 or so years. Which is pretty clear that the Magisters are not the first Darkspawn, merely the first Awakened Darkspawn. And with my theory on page 269 that the Darkspawn are the result of a corrupted Titan -- since Genlocks were the first ones noted to be seen -- it would explain a lot.

And no, those from Orzammar don't believe it. As one example, you have Shaper Czibor's entries on the matter saying it's all a load of BS.

Why would Cory have discovered the PT then only to have to be told about it again, when no Darkspawn has ever set foot in there?

Hell, you'd have to explain to me how in the same year the Magisters invaded Dumat got tainted when it takes the Darkspawn centuries to find one through tunneling efforts.

I'm in agreement with most of this, especially that darkspawn have probably been around for longer than the magisters. As the dwarves tend to point out, it stretches plausibility that the magisters breached the Black City, fell, created other darkspawn, uncovered Dumat, and started a massive assault. It looks like darkspawn were already nipping at the empty stretches of the Deep Roads between thaigs for a number of years, growing in strength. By the time Aeducan started to lead forays against them, Dumat was in charge. *shrug*

However, the kossith colony wasn't wiped out before the First Blight, wasn't it? It was established about fifteen years before the First Blight is said to start. It's just that the Wiki Timeline mentions it being wiped out by darkspawn during the Blight in the same entry, to save space.

Also worth noting that Corypheus has blue lyrium in him in Legacy, matching the accounts of ancient Magisters being mutated by lyrium.

I really want to play a dwarf who can draw upon a titans power and shape the stone.

The earthy abilities of the earth shaker sha brytol are soooooo damn awesome.

Makes stonefist seem lacking lol

Actually if they do bring about a magic using dwarf class in future games, i hope that their magic is a bit of mix mash of stone spells, force mage spells from dragon age 2, and enhanced melee attacks.

Leave the lightning, flame and frost to the surfacers

Stonefist can work for Mages and "Shapers." Like Mages make the Stonefist from rocks in the Fade, like the Rift Mage ability describes while the Dwarven one could be making it from surrounding rocks.

From what I've heard, all the Descent DLC does is hint at stuff. Nothing in the way of big revelations.

That seems somewhat disappointing.

But was their existence in doubt before?

For instance, nobody's ever seen an Old God but everyone agrees they exist.

I'm big on quotes, but I've been waiting for people to have a chance on the game before I started pulling random tidbits I enjoyed from the DLC. However, this quote is relevant to Tish's comment above:

Also am I the only one who was kinda annoyed at the codex from Josephine trying to explain how we should act around Orzammar Dwarves if we're a Dwarf ourselves? I mean I realize we're in the Carta but still, it bugged the **** out of me being told that stuff.

Am I the only one curious that now they've been debunked as Titans, what the giant creatures that inspired the Gate Guardians are?

Funny the "recent" mention of magic-using dwarves in this thread. I just went to the Hissing Plains for the first time and in one of the ruins came up a codex entry speculating about how dwarves were able to "install" magic demon-summoning traps into their crypt puzzles. Research into the question revealed that there was a dwarven word used in related ancient literature that meant something like "stone waste" or "stone impurity" as part of the explanation, asserting dwarves are able to draw magic from the properties of stone! Dwarven Stone Mage- new DA class... XD

I saw those in the Hissing Waste just yesterday too, and was thinking about them!

I think that it's made up for by the minor reveal that Cadash is our second bilingual Inquisitor (after Lavellan) and able to read Ancient Dwarven. Even if they are a little "rusty" with it, it was cool to know they'd actually learned the language when most dwarves (on the surface and even in Orzammar) no longer bother to learn it at all.

Cole mentions that they used to be Dwarves and still think they're Dwarves, as I recall.

Remember the Gangue Shade, and given Valta's comment on feeling Renn in the Stone, and things seem like they might piece together.
