Doesn't Adaar know some Qunlat words?
My best guess is that Adaar only knows a smattering of Qunlat they picked up from either their parents or other Vashoth/Tal-Vashoth they've worked with. They don't seem to know it well enough that they don't have to ask Bull to provide a translation whenever he's said something in Qunlat.
Does make sense though why Cadash and Lavellan are more fluent in their respective ancestral language than Adaar is, since Dwarves (even on the surface) and the Dalish tend to value tradition, whereas Tal-Vashoth and Vashoth might try to distance themselves from the Qunari language as part of their rejection of the Qun and anything associated with it.
Cole mentions that they used to be Dwarves and still think they're Dwarves, as I recall.
Remember the Gangue Shade, and given Valta's comment on feeling Renn in the Stone, and things seem like they might piece together.
With how the Gangue Shade might tie into things regarding the Stone, makes you wonder what other Origins enemies that we thought were inconsequential at the time might actually be important lorewise, such as the Trickster Whim, Fade Beast and Shah Wyrd?

Malvernis, the bonus boss in Legacy, definitely looks a lot more interesting now. Turning the Stone into slime and wreaking enough havoc on the dwarves that they bury him on the surface.

Does anybody wonder if connecting with a Titan could cure Bartrand's madness?
Bartrand's madness seems to be the result of connecting with a Blighted Titan. Given that lyrium is the blood of a Titan, and red lyrium which originated in the PT is corrupted, it stands to reason that somewhere there's a Blighted Titan out there. Probably is the source of the Darkspawn, and has some ties to the Golden City, on some level.
Or maybe the lyrium's Blighted, but the Titan is dead. Wouldn't be surprised if BW pulled a Lovecraftian reference by having a dead Titan and saying "even dead gods can dream", like they did in ME2.
His mind's already connected to one. Probably isn't gonna do him, or another Titan, any good if he connects to one now. Valta seems to have a symbiotic relationship going on, where she draws from it and it draws from her a touch. I imagine the same would apply for Bartrand, and a new Titan might experience madness, if not some level of Blight.

How do we know the song of another Titan won't overcome the tainted effects of Blighted lyrium?

We don't, but as of now, based on what we know, it's a long shot with not a whole lot going in its favor.
As an aside, we know that in the Hissing Wastes Bull and Cadash will have a convo about the tombs -- more then likely Inq. and Bull, rather then solely Cadash -- and Varric and Cadash get one as well.
Do the other companions get anything? I brought Sera and Cole for one journey and Cole does say about the Demons in the tombs "They used to be Dwarves. They think they still are" like I thought, but Sera's comment to all of what happened was, upon Nasir saying that he lit the wrong order and it wasn't right, "Ya think?!".
Which made me laugh, but I was hoping those two would have their own things to say.
Of course I still need to open the final tomb now that key's made, so maybe there's something?
EDIT: alas, they were quiet here as well. Unless Varric overrides them. I brought him along as well but I thought that Varric and Bull both played even if they were in the party together. My memory might be wrong though.
....one would think Dorian might have something to say as well.

It might, but you'd risk that untainted Titan being tainted instead. Is it worth risking something that's fairly catastrophic to save one person?

@TEWR -- As far as I know, only Varric, Iron Bull, and Blackwall have commentaries for the tombs (the long ones). I don't know the priority order, but I know Varric will override Blackwall if they're in the same group. Sera will tease Blackwall if they're in a group together during the commentaries. Dorian will make a snark to Iron Bull if they're together. I don't recall anyone joining in for Varric.
Another thing I noticed was that if you're in the Crestwood flooded caves and you come across the nugs, Cole will comment on the dwarves not remembering the dwarves. And I'm not positive if Varric will override Cadash, but whenever I had him in group, he definitely did. (Too tedious to investigate as it's random which party member will comment on the nugs -- even if I just brought both Cole and Varric, sometimes Varric will be the one to talk about braised nugs instead of Cole speaking up. Argh.)
Edit: Found my transcript of what these three have to say: http://gilsa-childof...companion-tales

So, I've only just completed Descent, had to get high enough level in this run, so had to wait a couple of weeks!
It was quite good, although I'm not sure about the ending. Still, it was fun to walk around with Snake.

In DAO, Leliana's friend had an ancient Dwarven incantation of "The Stone lives beneath Orlais." So I guess it's safe to assume that's true?
But I want to know why would the Stone lead Valta and co. to the Storm coast, rather than near Orlais?
I am more or less convinced that there is a Blighted Titan ... or maybe the Taint is just naturally occuring to that Titan and that Titan had blighted/ proto-darkspawn within it.
Since the breach "stirred" the Titan in Storm Coast and was also stirred "over 1000 years ago" then perhaps the Red Lyrium Titan awoke when the Magisters breached the Fade.
It's said that Titans shaped the world "within(real world?) and without (fade?) so maybe Red Lyrium Titan is doing that?

Hello Dwarflings!
Well as some of you may know the trailer for the new DLC came out! And, by the Ancestors, it looks good! And EPIC! (and if you haven't seen it go to the Solas Thread on page 4463 and check it out!)
Anywho!!!!
It seems like this is going to be the last DLC.. So how do you guys feel about your Cadash's and what their mark on Thedas has been? Postive, negative, neutral, funny, serious etc???
And what about your relationships with

I saw!! The good news is that fans are finally going to get their closure on Solas, which is what they've asked for every single time a DLC has come out. I feel like Descent has gotten punished for not being a Wolf Hunt. Now that this is coming out, I see people talking about also picking up Descent now, which makes sense. When people are happy, they start picking up the other things they skipped over in protest.
I like my Cadash. I don't know that I wanted her to stay as an Inquisitor because she's just a thug flying by the skin of her teeth. She did her job in closing the Breach, but I don't see it as her job to run things politically, etc. I'm curious how things will end for her, especially if this is the last DLC. Morrigan was right that people were going to be gunning for the Inquisitor because she/he is so powerful now.

@Gilsa
That's how my Cadash felt. After dealing with the Mage-Templar war, the Wardens and then the Winter palace, sealing the Breach was just the final nail in the coffin for her. She felt like her job was done and she leave the Inquisition and (maybe) start a family. Her experience overall was a positive one. She made long-lasting friendships, met the love of her life and helped save the world. Couldn't get any better than that right? ![]()

Nasir grew into the role of Inquisitor in my 'Verse, though he ade it a point to bring in Hawke and my Aeducan as Inquisitors as well -- in fact, both the companion cast and my other OCs feature, and they're Inquisitors too, with Nasir/Tobias/Xanthos being High Inquisitors -- to try and balance out the power dynamic because he didn't trust himself to have carte blanche authority over the Inquisition -- particularly after his run-in with the Envy demon after he got the Mages.
He tried to make the world a better place though, righting wrongs and all that, while also playing by the rules as much as possible and if need be breaking them. So his mark on Thedas is overall good, though he will be understandably pissed that after all he's done... after all the hard work... it's still not enough and he will be called to answer for things.
(honestly excited to hear Nasir get pissed. When he got angry at Cass and Varric I was so happy)
Though in my 'Verse Nasir's mark -- the actual one, though I realize you didn't ask about this -- has troubled him since... well... the beginning. It causes him pain, the magic spreads, makes him ill, etc. Josephine will even ask what it's like and Nasir answered that it feels like his nerves are on fire.

Cool, I just had a Hissing Wastes specific banter between Bull and Sera (I think). It wasn't tied to the Dwarf stuff, just the area. I'm paraphrasing a lot of it because it wasn't until Sera's last line that I even thought I got an area banter.
Bull: You know, I think I like it here
Sera: I've seen better. It's boring.
Bull: I like it. It's simple. You get up, get going, stop at camp. It's direct.
Sera: Nobles keep sand for their nugs.
I dunno something like that.

I really doubt one broken mind will affect an overmind like a Titan. It's more likely Titans are the more dominant mind. And the more dwarves that are connected to it will lessen any chance of Bartrand's illness affecting it.

I'm not sure physical size or dominant mind matters in this instance. A virus can be deadly and you can't even see it, and the taint can corrupt lyrium which is a Titan's blood (the reason I use that particular comparison.) Also consider a computer virus which can be a relatively tiny line of code and the damage it can do. Bartrand's one person, and not even that important (maybe not even to Varric) in the larger scheme of things, so I don't personally see the benefit as worth even a small risk of the contact corrupting a Titan since it appears they can be tainted.

You assume Bartrand's illness is contagious like the people used to think insanity was contagious.
FYI: it's not.
Bartrand's condition could just be the same as other lyrium-addled people, except his was caused by red lyrium.

So with the new Golden Nug feature coming in the next patch.
I'll have my legion of the dead armor ready for my early Cadashes while I'm still at Haven? No more riding through the hissing wastes with a level 12 dwarf frantically avoiding all the rifts and venatori while trying to to get to the ruin and unlock the legion of the dead schematic.
Thanks, Bioware. ![]()

Yep! Considering how expensive some of those patterns are, and you get them late in game and they're race restricted, I'm SO relieved. Especially for the one I bought without realizing there was a race restriction. By the time I realized I not only couldn't use it, I couldn't even use it for a companion, I was too far past that point to want to go back and load a save game, sigh. Now, that pattern might finally get used, lol.
