Reminded me of BG's dwarves cheering, "Fine dwarven ale!" I went looking for it on YouTube, but no luck. Instead I came across this side quest vid (was fun to watch) from the game "The Book of Unwritten Tales" (never heard of it 'til now) about brewing "dwarven ale..." which was apparently banned because it was so potent an explosive. (Ban dwarven ale!??!) From back when dwahrvs 'ad a thick Scootish ahccnt. Funny it always gets called the generic "dwarven ale" rather than specific ale brews like "The Gut Blaster" or "Head Rocker" or even having more genres of dwarven ale the way we get "stouts," "lagers," and "India pale ales." Dwarves of all folks seem like they'd have a range of ales to boast of- less so varieties of deepstalker dishes.

Hey fellow dwarf-fans!  I've been away from the thread for about a month so I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this before, but remember that German novel series that a few of us were recommending a few months ago (aptly titled "The Dwarves")?  Well, not only is it still an awesome novel, but it's being turned into a tactical RPG!  How did I miss this?!?

Whenever I use a dwarf its always a female Brand named Rikku (yes from FF10) because her sister's name is Rica. Rikku can be a stone cold and yet,be kind and gentle. She hates guards and especially Beraht  because of the way he treats her sister. She never wanted to be a warden but,had no choice in the matter since she was under the penalty  of death for polluting the proving grounds. She thinks Alistair is a weak and naïve  person still, she finds him interesting.

Aww. You're making me miss Dragon Age because of Pentash!   As soon as I get off the Fallout4/PillarsofEternity train, then I'll return to make another Inquisition run. 

Speaking of POE/Dwarves, I love that the village in the White March DLC is a dwarven village.

That's a good question! I can't think of specific names right now, but I'd love a male dwarf voice that was deep, rich, and with a British or Aussie accent (there's no logical reason that surface dwarves should all sound like they're from Orzammar after all.) I'm keeping my fingers crossed to get Harding back; lovely VA. But I'd also like a female dwarf voice that does NOT sound like NE US and with some range outside of infinitely cheerful and "perky," sigh. They've gotten themselves rather stuck in a very limited mindset when it comes to writing and casting dwarves. Even elves in DAI get a much wider range of accents, voices, and personalities - from Briala's smooth Orlesian tones to the Dalish on the Exalted Plains to Sera.

It'd be nice to hear a surface dwarf without an American accent. I think all we have is Bodahn, and he's originally from Orzammar isn't he? The all-pervasive American accent for dwarves, including ones who've been surrounded by humans their entire lives like Harding, bothered the crap out of me. I've never been able to convince myself to use the British VA for either sex because loooore. That said, I'd still love for Scott McNeil to voice a male dwarf PC. He has this great, gravelly, emotive voice.

Though, I didn't get much of a perky vibe from Montano. Dagna, Harding, all the other dwarfy girls though? Definitely.

I remember back before DAO came out the devs we're originally going to give dwarves German accents, but I guess it was too much of a pain in the butt to implement. Maybe Kal-Sharok dorfs will have German accents?!
