I've seen the pictures, but not the text with them before. Thanks!

Edit: And man, I love the concept art for the female dwarves in Origin so much more than DAI. Badass with strong shoulders and arms rather than cute petite hobbits without shoulders, lol.

If memory serves, the female dwarf model in Origins was nearly universally derided for its proportions, namely the relatively broad shoulders and longer arms in relation to the torso. Personally, I thought it made them look strong, but the phrase 'gorilla arms' was pretty popular in dwarf threads.

Yay!  Are we talking dwarf-y wishlist for the next game?

I think Harding has a lot of potential.  She's interesting in the fact that, unlike Varric, she really has almost no connection to dwarven culture at all.  She was a shepherd in the Hinterlands.  A surfacer from birth in a human ruled kingdom with a very un-dwarf-like job.  I think it could be very interesting to have her as a companion in a game with strong dwarf connections.

I really hope that they explore the Ambassadoria in depth in DA4.  It's such a unique and different facet of dwarf culture that I would be gutted if they skip it (or, worse, just have one mediocre quest attending to it).  Also, Kal Sharok could be on the table as well.  Personally, I'd like them to focus DA4 solely on the Imperium and Seheron (there's enough there to fill a full game) and to have the Anderfels, Nevarra, and Kal Sharok as the following game.  But, given it's proximity, it's not out of the realm of possibility.  So we could be exploring both the Ambassadoria (well, more like learning about it and interacting with them since there's not much 'exploring' to do) and Kal Sharok in the next game.  Wouldn't it be interesting to bring a surfacer dwarf with us and see how that changes her self-image based on finally experiencing her race's culture(s) first hand?  I just think there's something interesting there that could make a compelling dwarf companion storyline.  Especially since "personal journeys" are pretty common for LI's and, if she returns, I'd put my entire paycheck on her being a bisexual romance for all races.

I would also love to see a member of the Ambassadoria.  I think I've mentioned it somewhere before (maybe in this thread), but I have this idea floating in my head of an ostentatious and foppish Ambassadoria member who would join your group as a warrior.  On the surface, he'd be vain and effeminate and a bit bourgeoisie (in the Marxist sense) (I imagine him being a bit like Zidler from Moulin Rouge or Lyle from Penny Dreadful) but then he'd also be a shrewd and cunning politico as well as a competent sword and board warrior.  It would just flip how dwarves are perceived a bit.  And, I'd like him to be a non-romanceable character (and straight -- just to **** with people's perceptions again).

Finally, as I make very clear in the KISA thread, I'd love a Rock Knocker in the next game.  A strong, proud, dwarven warrior who (for some reason) has ended up as a Rock Knocker.  I could easily see some storyline where he volunteers (as tribute...) to join the order for the honor of his family, which would potentially free him up to be able to choose to join the PC's entourage.  I see him as a typical duty bound noble dwarf (Gorim style) and, of course, a romance option.  And, even more of course, available to other males (and females too, I suppose, since we all want our dwarf LI's, right?).  ;)

I know it will never happen but could you imagine how awesome it would be to have all three of these characters and be able to run a full dwarf party!  You'd just need to make your PC dwarf a dual wield rogue and you could have that (PC), a ranged rogue (Harding), a sword and shield warrior (Ambassadoria), and a two-handed warrior (Rock Knocker).  Who needs magic when you're rolling with that crew?

Sigh......  I'm going to go revisit my current dwarf warrior playthrough on DA: I.  I need more dwarves in my life......

I wasn't around for that initially, but when I heard "gorilla arms" used when I started playing DAO later, the people always said they were talking about the arms being too long, not the shoulders. I'm particularly put out by the change because it flushes the entire f!Brosca origin story down the privy. Didn't happen unless someone drugged the entire city of Orzammar with some really good psychadelics. I'd have understood if it was a minor change, but in DAO, the male and female dwarves looked like the same race. Now the sexual dimorphism is so extreme, as far as I'm concerned, they turned female dwarves into hobbits, sigh. The fact that DAO did NOT create unnecessary artificial distinctions between male and female PCs was one of the things that attracted me to it.

It's as if someone is absolutely terrified at presenting a female body type that looks physically strong. I want a female dwarf who looks like she can spend 10 hours at a forge swinging a heavy hammer, etc. I want Serena Williams-esque, not a runway model. They already have two very slender, non-muscular (visibly) female body types - elves and humans. Why not a bit of variety? You know, we hadn't seen a female qunari (to my knowledge) before DAI, why did they automatically default to, again, a body type that's so much smaller than the male? Dwarves and qunari are non-human races, there's no reason that the women can't be the same size, if not bigger or taller. Instead they went for a much more extreme level of sexual dimorphism, sigh. Until people start seeing a variety of female body types, people are going to continue to forget that women come in a lot of sizes and shapes too. And frankly, keeping the body types between the genders much closer would make the animations that much easier to do...

Agreed, but the game is rated for that while the boards are apparently supposed to be kid accessible. Dunno why they don't just rate the boards for mature games too, but there it is.

Bah I really wish I could share at least some of my dwarves here the last one I tried to romance Sera with was fracken adorable even if he scars did keep weirdly trying to fade out on me. Random question is that a thing? Do the scars heal up over time in the game or something cause i swear mine get lighter as the game goes on.

So as someone who can quite easily get attached to very minor characters I have to say it was nearly infatuation at first sight for me with these two

DragonAgeInquisition-2015-08-13-21-45-04

Even tried to make my male Dwarf look a bit like Renn it didn't work well at all.

So, finally got around to getting two pictures to show off of my dwarf lady Catherine, and just need to do Trespasser to finish her playthrough. Also ended up  restarting my playthrough with Flint, mainly because I forgot some of his decisions and he's one of my favorite inquisitors.

Catherine Cadash: wishes she was born in Orzammar, romanced Blackwall, didn't mind being a lyrium smuggler, sided with Templars, kept the Grey Wardens, had Gaspard de Chalons rule.

Spoiler

Flint Cadash: Allied with Templars, is Andrastian, saw being in the Carta as a dead end.

Currently replaying Origins with a female Brosca and considering romancing Zev, both because I've yet to romance him and because there's a serious lack of Dwarf-Elf pairings in the Dragon Age universe. Well, except for the supposed parents of Sandal... but seriously, why is that?

My next Inquisition playthrough is pretty much the same as Leo's, because I've not romanced Blackwall, sided with the Templars or Gaspard yet. Renn and Valta have made me want to play as a warrior, but I don't know whether that suits a former Carta member or not, because they seem to be more geared to being rogues?

The Carta needs muscle and enforcers too. Zhenya's a warrior (Templar now because I couldn't resist.)

Zevran is worth romancing, especially with a dwarf!

Edit: Think about the Carta at Valimmar (sp?) Several of them are warriors, including one brute with a two-handed weapon, if I recall.

True enough, especially if it lets me keep Varric along for the ride without making his rogue skills redundant, something I found tended to happen a lot in my last Cadash playthrough. Should also make Hakkon and Trespasser far easier on Nightmare than when I tried it with my dual-dagger rogue.

Sandal's mother could also be a human, if I remember properly. But I agree on the rest. :P Not enough Dwarf-Elf pairings, and not enough half-dwarven babies!

Maybe he just took after his mother? ;) Half-dwarves are either "tall dwarves" or "short humans", after all.

Well, it's hard to tell because of his age (11ish?) He may already have most of his height if dwarves mature a little faster (I'd actually assume the opposite, but I'm not sure the devs have anything coherent worked out for dwarves...) And a lot of guys don't broaden until later. I'm assuming, though, that since they weren't going to try to work out how to change his appearance for every possible male parent, they went fairly generically on the theory that the magic used made him look like Morrigan no matter what. I was lucky in that he looked quite a bit like my Misha (Sabrae) Mahariel, just dark haired instead of dark blonde...

Just started a Cadash playthrough. Sword and Shield user. Warden was Aeducan who put Harrowmont and Hawke was a witty mage who romanced Merrill. Warden had a human baby with Morrigan and ended romancing Leliana.

I have no idea how Inquisition is going to handle that. Which is why I'm looking forward to it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who likes Aeducan/Leliana. I feel like they can understand each other better b/c they both got burned by the Game. They were victims to politics. Players in the game that got humbled unexpectedly. Warden betrayed by his brother, Leliana betrayed by her lover/mentor, those close to them (Bhelen and Marjolaine) chose their own power over loyalty.

That is why I think it makes for a good foundation of a friendship/relationship between Aeducan and Leliana. Then again that's just my opinion.

Cadash sword and board is awesome! Even more so with the Golden Nug bc now he'll get his legion armor and dwarf helmet, and dwarf sword and shield as soon as I get the materials.
