She's so pretty!! Good choice going for sera, going down her romance path with a dwarf lady always gives the best dynamic imo.

Hi folks, I wonder if someone can help me with my current Dwarf playthrough of DAI. Firstly, I just want to say this is my third playthrough, my first as an Elf Rogue is still saved, my second is deleted. Also, I played all Dragon age games untill now, all DLC and always did everything possible since it's a masterpiece of a series, I actually finished Dragon Age Origins as a Dwarf Noble (Aeducan) and sacrificed myself, so no more Hero of Ferelden for me in DAI.

 

Anyway, the thing is I want to use this playthrough for Dragon Age 4 but want to change some things I did differently on my first playthrough but I don't know if it's possible that's why I keep my first as a back-up.

In this playthrough I have already allied myself with the Templars and the Greywardens, want Cassandra as my romance (always choose her), have Gaspard as the only ruler and have Leliana as divine.

 

Maybe you already noticed my problem, indeed, I don't know if it's possible to have Leliana as divine in this way and I have checked all over the internet already. Most people have her divine but have Celine + Briala as rulers or Gaspard + Briala as rulers. Is it possible to have all this with only Gaspard as ruler or is it impossible?

 

I checked by counting points on the Dragon Age Wikia for the divine section and it "should" be possible if you blame the Chantry in Cassandra's talks and propose her to leave the job alone. Also making sure Leliana takes the job and promote it to her instead.

Maybe someone here knows otherwise I'll have to test it but that of course takes much more time

I'm looking at the points now. You'll have to be really careful because most of your choices seem to favor Cass rather than Leli so far. Do you remember what you chose when you accepted leadership of the Inquisition? That may help or hurt.

Yeah, I head about it being good. And plus I'm doing all romances so that once I get trepasser. I'll be all set!

One thing I like about playing a dwarf is how much easier it is for me to make decisions. Like, choosing the mountain pass, sneaking Blackwall out of prison, or choosing underworld knowledge perks comes naturally when I'm playing a sneaky Carta dwarf. Or if I'm going for a more blunt character I can put them in a suit of armor and have their solution to everything be, "PUNCH IT TIL IT DIES."

Obviously you can do this with any race but it's easiest for me with dwarves.

Also this reddit post blew my mind. I don't even know where to begin?? Here's the helpful tl;dr summary:

Dug into the Cadash name, wasn't disappointed.

House Cadash would kick some major lore ass as possible direct descendents of the Forgotten Ones. Also, thanks to tinfoil, everything in the Cadash Lore points to the Anderfels, Kal'Sharok, Arlathan and Weisshaupt, where the Hero of Ferelden and (if recruited and alive) Bethany/Carver are stationed, where Hawke/The Warden are going, what Solas intends to do, and possibly where everything in the story of Inquisition is leading us to.

My brain is too smush to make any sense of it, but it was a fun read.

Currently playing a f!Cadash Inquisitor for the first time, and she is FUN. The special "I'm a dwarf" dialogue is sometimes pretty funny, and I'm playing this lady as scrappy, sassy, and usually blunt (her invitation to Blackwall to come back to her quarters was hilarious). I'm yet to play a Qunari Inquisitor, but so far, I have to say, I think the Cadash character has the most fleshed-out backstory and the sassiest specialty lines. Smart Carta dwarves, gotta love 'em.

 

I haven't gotten too far into the Blackwall romance yet (still in Haven), but I'm looking forward to it. I tried the romance a while back with a Trevelyan mage, but she was kinda more into Cullen and ended up breaking up with Blackwall after the Revelations quest and moving on to the hunky ex-Templar. Since Cullen isn't interested in dwarves and I already exhausted his flirt options (because I, the player, cannot ever resist flirting with Cullen, no matter what character I'm playing), I intend to stick with Blackwall this time. I'm already impressed with his comments about Cadash's criminal background. She'll be good when she gets to the Big Reveal. I mean, she's done stuff just as bad and just never got caught (nor felt the need to confess, so that'll be good for her admiration).

 

Yup. Really enjoying my f!Cadash playthrough so far.

Wow, am I ever bad at names. After reading this, the most apparent thing is that Quiz Cadash is related to Shale from Origins. Is that friggin' cool or what? I hadn't made the connection before, but I also have never played a dwarf. Will someday, I've got them planned.

There's a mod that removes the racegating for Cullen if you want to play that one (just mentioning it as an option if you decide you don't like Blackwall's.) Some of the cutscenes are a bit amusing with the mod...

Just a few days ago I enthusiastically started a new playthrough with a second dwarf, only because I could then participate more actively in this thread, which looks like one of the most fun and friendly ones in this forum, after a long time of mostly lurking. 

 

So, I really hope I'll be seeing some more of you at the forum Leo mentioned, or anywhere else you might decide to sign up. It would be sad if this thread wasn't going to be continued elsewhere.

Honestly, I don't know. I'm a little stunned that they think Q&A sessions and brief handshakes with fans at cons is enough, sigh. Basically, it limits their level of feedback to the tiny number who can make it to a con and actually get that remote chance of asking a question. The forums do a lot to build excitement leading up to game launches too I have no idea how I'll follow DA fandom now because we could always count on important things being passed along here. With Tumblr, it's hit or miss at best, and I honestly have no interest starting up yet another account somewhere.

 

I'm on Tumblr - tishinada. I know a few of you there, but hope to see more.
