Still, I'm both angry and sad. There was no other place I can think of where people could meet and share their love for dwarves so freely and happily. Shitposting, meta and lore discussions, screenshots, some art sometimes, it was wonderful. And you guys are so kindhearted and welcoming.
Now, should we move to reddit or something?

Lurker here on the dwarf thread; hadn't gotten around to my Dwarf play throughs but had them planned. I'm new to DA; 4 month old fan.
I refuse to go to a place that prepares for our arrival like we are something to be scrapped off their shoe. Also, I like reading forums and not weird tree style comments where people can downvote you if you're unpopular. I want to read the silly, the stupid, the poor english; We're all fans, ya know?

I haven't been on much for a few months because my life imploded (quit job, car stolen, started graduate school, medical issues, etc). Plus I've always been more of a lurker than a poster at any rate.
However, this is still my favorite thread on this forum and some of my fave people because **** yeah dwarves. I'm probably going to migrate to the various places that we all end up, but it won't be the same. Just wanted to let you all know you're awesome.
If any of you are tumblr people, I'm madmagemaidmarian over there, come say hi & maybe we could mutually follow. I'm also on twitter and twitch (LadyCadashing for both).
For anyone who's on Discord (and honestly that should be all of you, Discord is pretty awesome), I've gone ahead and made a Dwarf Support Thread server on Discord.
It won't really replace the BSN and it's not as useful for archiving as a forum is, but it might be a good place for a quick refuge while people sort out where they're going and try to stay connected. Discord is free, you can use the browser app or download the desktop app, and once you've signed up for a name you don't have to do anything else except join the server via the invite code. Please give the invite code to anyone in this thread if they're looking for somewhere to chat: https://discord.gg/csvgBGN (it shouldn't stop working but if it does let me know and I'll generate a new one).
I hope that you guys will use the Discord chat. It's really easy and might make a good way point until we can get a new permanent home set up somewhere.

I was always holding myself back because it would take me quite some time to write a relatively short text in english and by that point the discussion had already moved on, leaving me insecure if I should post it anyway or even in the first place.

I still don't regret a single minute I lurked in this thread. It was nice reading all your ideas, theories and speculations, seeing pictures or screenshots of fellow dwarf enthusiasts. My DA4 experience will be poorer without it.

I feel you. Even as a native English speaker I often have trouble articulating my feelings about things beyond "Me like it" and worry I'm not contributing anything useful. I wish I had just dived in!

- BSN'ers are looking into starting a new BSN forum elsewhere. You can read about it here.
Other suggested places to continue the BSN community that I've seen are:

I'm also currently looking into a way to archive this thread, or at least to copy it to a new location.

I'm going to extend a warning to you guys not to sign up with this forum alternative, I keep saying BSNers warn folks away from it due to the creator.

I'm not really one for badmouthing people, so I'll try to keep it as short and "neutral" as I can for people who weren't around for Cas "heyday" on the BSN:
Cassandra Saturn is either the most dedicated troll I've witnessed in my 9 years on the BioWare Forums or simply the most narcissistic and pathological liar I ever encountered.
Multi account self-adulation (those RealKorra post praising Cas in every thread about the new Forum? That's her too.), "leaving" the forum every week with a grand good bye post, only to retun a day later under the cheering of the fake accounts, getting downright vindictive against everbody not hailing herself in every possible way, harassing those people and trying to scam people out of their money. Those being just the tip of the iceberg.
And that is not the first board she has opened up. All went down in flames.
You could just take a look at her tumblr side(s) to get the basics.

Cheers for the clarification! Causing drama would be one thing, but harrassment and scamming? I'd rather keep my hopes up for an entirely new forum created by the community, in addition to RDF.

What a thing to come back to
I'm one of those people who is currently kicking themselves for their casual lurking and not participating in discussions with you all more often. Very sad to hear about BSN closing down. I'll definitely be hitting all you guys up on these new social media forums, though. I stand by what I said earlier, this is easily the best thread on the whole website and I'm depressed that it's being taken down. So much speculation, not just for our beloved dorfs but for Dragon Age in general, will just disappear. Even if I didn't post all that often I loved knowing that this thread (hell, even this website in general) was here.
All my gamer friends in real life are all big human and elf fans (nothing wrong with that, of course), but I was always the oddball who loved the ale-swilling, stout folk and saw them as interesting potential protagonists and not just comedic side kicks. It was refreshing to come here and see how many people were fans of them too and connect with each other over their love of this fantasy race and their lore in these awesome games.
I'll be under these new websites as puckishrogue94, or some variation of if the name is already taken *grumble grumble*. I've already got twitter (I use it to promote some articles I write from time to time when university isn't eating me alive) and I'm signing up for reddit, tumblr, discord and realdragonagefans.

Do you need help with this? I started with this yesterday after ArcaneEsper's suggestion, but I think I got just about as far as you did, and it'll be pretty time wasting if we both end up copying the same stuff. 
Awesome that you're doing this, though.
