The numbers are pointing a certain direction, but I don't want to make a Dwarf thread at BSN until we can settle on a name.

 

People have said the Dwarf Support Thread sounds pessimistic. 

 

I have had a few votes for "Keeping up with the Cadashians."

 

Does anyone have other suggestions? Please chime in.

More seriously: the elf thread here is called Arlathan. Maybe we could call ours Tapster's Tavern after that fine establishment in Orzammar?

I'm dwarfed out for the day. Spent most of my day, literally, copy/pasting and formating the first two posts of the Dwarf page on DAF

I know the formatting isn't lovely. I'm arguing with the BBC code page more than I'd like 

 

Like, I think I spent 20 minutes trying to get the Dwarf names list to not be hidden under a spoiler tag with the Dialogue and... yeah, I figured it's more important to move the info rather than try to make it pretty right now.

I'd like to see the thread started by a long-time regular (maybe Vertigomez or Merela?) if for no other reason that it makes it easier to make changes to that first post on the thread where people tend to look for info. We've had over 2 years experience now with a thread with an absentee OP. Not saying we don't appreciate the enthusiasm, etc., but we've been stuck between being unable to make changes, or deserting a thread that's shown longevity/activity...

Oh, I like Tapster's Tavern! It's more inclusive than any of the other dwarven locations/organizations I can think of. I don't want something campy, it tends to stick long after it's stopped being funny or cute.

There were suggestions on the thread name somewhere in the late pages of 200-300. (It starts at 279)
TEWR suggested: The Assembly: Praise the Ancestors -- Where Dwarf Fans Gather
Tishina suggested: The Dwarven Assembly
Bhryaen suggested: Delving the Deep Roads: Dwarves and Allies. Also suggested merging some old Harding thread names in the mix: Little Package of Murder and "Delving the Deep Roads: All Things Dwarfy (and this means YOU, Lacey Harding)" and "From the Assembly to the Deep Roads: etc."
Vertigomez mentioned fondness for the old: Dwarven (Master Race) Appreciation Thread
Olwaye suggested: "Delving Deep : the dwarven community" , Stone Halls of the Dwarfs( in game title of a book by Genetivi), Children of the Stone and Crotchgazers( wait... scratch that one)

I'd forgotten about these, it's been a while. I do think Tapster's Tavern is more inclusive than anything connected to the Assembly or even Children of the Stone (either of these to some extent exclude casteless or surface dwarves,) and has more staying power than the funny ones. Novelty wears off fast.

I've signed up for all 3, for the moment, but eventually I'll narrow it down to one (don't have time to check multiple forums all the time.) Right now, it looks like RDA has the most dwarf activity (Phoray, I saw the name, thank you! And nicely set up, I'll post when I get time to read things.) But I think the other thread I follow is probably heading to the BSN...

I've never been namedropped so many times on one page. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Big thanks to Phoray and Merela for starting the new HQs and to Krypplingz and Seven and everybody else who's been combing through the thread, saving precious dwarf content.

I don't think it'll pose too much of a problem to have two (or more - however many sustainable lifeboats we end up with) threads on different sites. We're a fairly closely-knit bunch, all things considered, and we'll likely be sharing content on both threads anyway? So I'm not worried.

(By sharing, I mean that I'll be recklessly spamming dwarfy goodness from one site to another, because reasons.)
