Bah there's such a thing as too long and length isn't everything, girth is important too, the better to hit all the right targets with, and I picture dwarf men to have girth in spades.

I mean this with no disrespect to the fine male LI of Dragon Age, but besides maybe Zevran, I can't imagine a single one of them topping Gorim sexually. He just uh, seems to know what he's doing, in general. And he's so very fine tuned to Aeducan's needs and moods.....

And about Gorim, funny story, I was probably one of the few that wasn't heartbroken about him. I thought he was awesome. However, due to it being my first game, I didn't even know where Denerim was, much less that he even said he'd meet me there. I thought that was the last I'd see of him before being catapulted in the Grey Wardens. And then Alistair happened. That rose! We traveled! And then ... Denerim! When I saw Gorim, I was so thrilled and then thought "f***!" Both of my boyfriends were right there. I froze. Pleasepleasepleaseplease nobody say anything. This is so awkward. "Oh, wait, you're married? That's awesome. I'm kinda relieved you moved on with your life despite me screwing it up for you in the first place." I would have felt this big if he reacted to the fact that I replaced him with someone taller.

Nah, my Ozera wasn't heartbroken at all. She was deadly serious about darkspawn and committed to giving the dwarves breathing space to rebuild their numbers, but she was a happy hedonist in her private life (I kind of assumed dwarves would encourage this for children anyway). Since I already knew Gorim was in the market (I recognized him from earlier PTs), I timed things so they talked to him just before Alistair propositioned Ozera when they got back to camp (all loose ends neatly tied up). Gorim wasn't noble caste and Alistair was obviously heading to the throne (if she had anything to say about it) so she never got too attached, but Zevran's personality exactly suited her. If she'd lived, I'd imagine they'd have had quite an entertaining continuing relationship.

I don't think I've share this before re:Gorim, but Dragon Age was my first Bioware game and I had no idea how they worked in terms of LI or how the origins worked or whatever. I essentially went into it blind until after the story I'm about to tell, haha. Oh, foolish naive me.

So my first PT was a Brosca and I ran into Gorim in the market and so when he appeared in the Aeducan origin as her lover I was like "I met that guy in Denerim! Didn't he say he had a wife?" and told her to meet him in Denerim....I assumed that SHE would be the one to become his wife (like mrs Gorim there was an AU Aeducan) so since I adored him, I rushed there to marry him.... only to find out he was already married with a kid.

It was definitely a case of me not remembering everything and not being familiar with the series....but it was awful. I googled and was like THATS IT?? Noooooooo!!!!!!!!???

But in retrospect, probably one of the reasons I like Aeducan/Gorim so much is that he does move on, because it makes their relationship seem more grounded and less squicky. I just don't think they anticipated people rushing to Denerim like "eff the blight where is my boyfriend???"...or else they probably wouldn't have let him set up until the plot had advanced a bit more.

If Oghren is in the group when Brosca sees Gorim for the first time in Denerim, both Gorim and Oghren will not be pleased to see each other. Oghren will call him the prince's bootlicker. Of course, he's silent with Aeducan. =p

I've never had Oghren as a companion yet when I reach Denerim. I'll have to remember that if I ever play a Brosca again.

Likely the same stuff that gets rival points with him in DA2 -- being jerk and not helping people. (Gaider has said there's no one single decision that will make a companion up and leave.)

But the big points was letting innocent people die, especially to achieve extreme ideological gains would be a big one to lose approval. Also it was pointed out that he's probably very anti red Lyrium, so any decisions that aren't about containing it or support the red Templars could be something he'd oppose.

That's a very interesting idea, Tishina. My guess, and this is me trying to lower expectations so that I don't go in thinking every small choice had such a huge impact, is that if he keeps it, it will be more of a background/flavor dialogue + options (perhaps additional war table quest?) than something that radically alters a followers approval path. I like the idea though, quite a bit.
