Yeah I am getting ready to go dark as well dont want anyone to spoil anything in DAI for me either.And my first PT will be my Male Dwarf Warrior/Champion.

I wont go dark probably till the game goes live been really good about avoiding spoilers, and the BSN has been great about spoiler tags so far. The only thing I really want to see is all the skill trees as that is not really a spoiler an will allow me to think about how to build my character which is fun for me while I wait

I don't consider skill trees a spoiler either, it just saves some time when the game launches so you can jump into the game itself.

Yeah I'll be on the board till the 18th.  Then I'll be gone since I will be busy playing.  But I personally don't care about spoilers.  Even if someone told me every major plot point and ending to this game it would not take anything away from actually playing it for myself.

sometimes I am the same as you Jason but for this game I am trying to avoid huge spoilers little minor ones are fine though like who are the romances and what happends in the first 5 mins I don't care. But the really big plot points I would be a little peeved if someone spoiled that for me I want a raw moment to enjoy those

I'm sticking around because I can't stay away, but I say I'm probably going dark soon because as soon as spoiler thread titles or whatever start happening, I'm gonna bolt, and this way I get to say goodbye in advance.

 

Erm, so my Hella Cadash concept so far.... is uh, weird, because I was joking about how it'd be funny to have a hipster dwarf who appropriates Dalish culture, and then I started imagining how that would work and realized it would be perfect for a first PT (because the character would be an inconsistent disaster and thats usually how my first PT goes anyway), and so now I have one. 

 

I don't think I've posted the whole idea anywhere, just bits and pieces everywhere, so basically I have:

 

Hella grew up around criminals, so in order to define herself in opposition to them, she's "lawful good". I put that in quotes because she's really only like this to rebel, and as soon as she leaves them, her priorities are gonna shift according to who she's around...so basically she's gonna be a big old contrarian special snowflake hypocrite no matter who she's talking to but mostly it's gonna be "f** the man", it will just depend on who the man is in any given context. She's got a good heart, really.....but she's naive and sheltered and reactionary. 

 

She'll be pro-mage but I can easily see her messing things up and ending up siding with the Templars out of confusion or frustration because she's a disaster and also resentful she can't have magics. 

 

Hella thinks the Dalish are the bees knees and  will defend/champion them at first in an over the top THEY ARE PERFECT way. (If they are super rude to her I can see herself going "f*** you" though eventually, because she's always gonna go with her immediate feelings over her ideological stances). She uses the British quizzie accent, because that's how the Dalish talk. She's gonna ride a halla, have a long story about how her dwarven tattoo is basically a vasallin, worship the creators, and be obnoxiously anti-Andrastrianism.  She's gonna be convinced that she's a direct descendant of the people who helped the elves escape Tevinter in Cadash Thaig and that she's probably at least 1/64th elf because of that. She's gonna be mad that's not enough for Solas. She's gonna romance Sera, because elf hipster.

Hehe, thanks, it makes me giggle I think it will be fun to play, although most of it will be headcanons as I play, I don't expect to have options to talk about believing in the creators as a dwarf, for example.

haha I did that with my Origins playthrough but she aclimated more as time went on but she did do many "humans are crazy, and elves are not much better." moments

I love this since like you said that is kinda how your first play through always goes as you learn your way around the world.  Your just already there. heh

Haha, yup! I prefer to roleplay rather than pick decisions based on my reactions, but when I try to do a more rigid, consistent character on the first PT I find myself going "wait what would happen if I selected that option....." or picking an option without really thinking through the consequences and ending up doing something totally OOC or going "but I wanna click that!!!!!". So my plan this time is to try RPing a character who is well defined but who would do basically anything and have it make sense.

haha, yeah I always try and stay in character, its why I really liked the SWTOR conversation system if you didn't like how your character said something just hit esc quickly and start the whole conversation over again \o/
