A little off topic but anyone know if they are doing those CGI companion trailers for all the companions?

I really hope so! I loved Viv but Iron Bull's and Varric's trailer was bloody marvelous
Really want to see Sera and Blackwall! ![]()

I don't think so. The first teaser trailer was of the Inquisitor, Vivienne, Iron Bull, and Varric. Plus there is only five days left, which means we might get one last finally launch trailer.
I'll be doing a mixture of both. I want a real living flaw character this time around, instead of someone who picks all the right things or all the bad things.
Nice! Are we sharing concepts for our dwarf Inquisitors? I’ve got two solid concepts right now and I’m pretty sure that both will get played.
My second playthrough will definitely be Graeme Cadash. He’s going to be a dual wield rogue with either the tempest or, more likely, artificer specialization. He’s going to have one of the short parted hairstyles with shaved sides and a short trimmed beard (with braids, if possible). He’ll have light blonde hair and pale blue eyes. No tattoos and just one or two light scars. If possible, I want him to have his main hand weapon be an axe and his off-hand weapon be a dagger.
He’s going to be a reluctant Carta member. I’m imagining him as having always struggled with his Carta work because of his morals. However, his loyalty to his family has led him to continue the work. He seeks out the diplomatic approach to solve issues so that he doesn’t have to use violence. He’ll definitely resort to bribes and, if need be, threats (bluffs) in order to get his way without causing injury. He’ll see the Inquisition as his way out of that life and will throw himself into the work, despite having no belief in the Maker or interest in the mage conflict. He will attempt to make ‘an honest go at it’ this time around, but will fall back onto smuggling, bribery, and whatnot to get the job done. He’ll be fiercely loyal to his friends and allies. He is definitely going to romance Bull, who will lighten his humor a bit and allow him to relax.
Any thoughts? Description of my female Cadash warrior to come!

Yeah, when we all got the game; everyone will show their Dwarves and I love the background you got for your character
Tell us how the Bull romance goes? ![]()

Unfortunately as a rogue you can only dual wield daggers - no axes sorry ![]()

Will do with the Bull romance. Since he's going to be second playthrough, it might be a few weeks before I'm ready to post his pic though! I'll definitely be following the thread until then though.

Bummer. I loved that in DA: O. One axe, one dagger. I'm sure that there will be interesting enough looking daggers in DA: I, though. I seem to think that Isabela could have a "dagger" that looked like an axe, right?

That's fine
I'll probs post up some pics of my Dwarf and his romance Cassandra
But with the game....I have to wait for a few weeks maybe December :'( I'll be away on hol, when I'm back...I'll show what my Dwarf looks like for you all
Second dwarf concept. I have always had a “thing” for lady dwarves. I’ve been fascinated by them since discovering the fantasy genre. I’ve just always felt that they were underrepresented and underutilized. One of the things that drew me to Bioware was that I could play as a lady dwarf in BG, which was totally amazing to me. Since then, I really love having lady dwarf heroes. Both of my female Wardens were dwarves and, even though it’s likely that I’ll only play a single female this time, she’s almost certainly going to be a dwarf. It really depends on how much I like qunari. If I do a female dwarf, it will be with my third or fourth playthrough.
Agathe Cadash will be a “sword and board” warrior with a reaver specialization. She’ll fight with a mace and shield and wear dwarven armor. She will have the shoulderlength half-shaved haircut, with dark auburn hair and green eyes. I picture her with darker skin, blood red and/or white facial tattoos and numerous deep scars. I'm also thinking that she's going to have some light stubble. Just seems right for her.
She’ll be an enforcer and thug for the Carta. She’s an ‘ask no questions’ type of gal. A soldier more than a general. Because of that, she will lack tact and discretion. She’s definitely an ‘ends justify the means’ type, so she’s not above blackmailing, roughing up, assassinations, and outright murder, if need be. She won’t be ‘evil’ though. She views this as the most efficient way to get the job down. She’s a pragmatist at heart. She has no vested in either side of the mage conflict, but I can see her siding with the Templars solely because she knows that there’s a lyrium market there. Not sure how she’ll feel about the other issues. I’m planning on having her romance Josephine, which might seem a bit off for this character, but I’m seeing Josephine as bringing out her caring and protective side. She’ll take on the Maker himself to keep her safe.
The one thing I can’t figure out…..why would a character like this stay with the Inquisition? I’m hoping that, by the time I’ve played through once or twice, I’ll be able to figure it out, because that’s the only thing that doesn’t sit right with me.

I know what you mean! A few years back, I never used to play females but since the start of DA: Origins; what was it 2009? I started playing both genders and I love it
My 2nd PT will be a female Dwarf and she will romance Sera but I haven't got a backgorund story for her yet
Just got my male Dwarf's story done
And I like the description of your female Dwarf
And I do believe that Josephine will bring the best out of her

Well, she probably wants to know what the hell is going on with her hand.
And maybe "save the world to save her playground" kind of thing like Sera, only more mercenary about it? Inquisition seems to offer her the best seat of power for all that.
Also: I know you said elsewhere you're not terribly spoiler averse, so have you seen the prologue? There's a compelling reason in it for her, for sure.
Your dwarves sound awesome. ![]()

Yeah, I'm sure that "WTF is going on?!?" is a pretty compelling driving force. I guess it could make sense that she could start working with the Inquisition out of both 'WTF is going on" and "Hey, this could lead to some serious bank for the Carta if I play my hand correctly....." and, as the story progresses, be influenced by other factors. That could make sense.
Yeah, I watched the prologue but didn't remember anything standing out, but I'm sure it will trigger when I play it in a few days. OMG! I'm playing this game in a few days??! So exciting!
And thanks for the complement on my dwarves. I think my qunari is the best one though! I'll have to tell you about him sometime. Then I'd love to hear any ideas you have too, veeia!

I think we might be choosing the same hair style. Graeme kind of sounds like my character when it comes to the moral. Ces Cadash will honor the Maker in private when no one is around. I don't many people would take Pro-chantry criminal really serious. He isn't going to have one tone, but may say right or wrong thing from time to time. Because think about someone going from criminal to head of a army, they won't be able to keep up with the others like that.
Are you going to role play that Graeme learned his diplomatic skills from someone? I like how the inquisition is a way out of criminal life for most of us, instead of a opportunity to collect more money than the carta allowed for us. Which side do you see Graeme supporting, since he would have to cross that bridge sooner or later? Or are you just going to play and see which side Graeme is feeling?

I'm thinking either top row, second column or middle row, fourth column. I'll have to see which looks best. I'm also not opposed to middle row, third column. But that's about all for me. How about you?
I like the idea of Ces "slipping" from time-to-time because of his background. Interesting take on it.
I think that Graeme will lean towards the mages. There's a similarity between a mage who can't control the fact that they were born with magical powers and are in a bad situation because of it and a dwarf born into a Carta family with few other options. I think he'll sympathize with them. I'll have to wait to see how it will shake out, though. I want to allow his character to evolve naturally. I like coming up with a vague background (like these ones), but not plan too far into the game so that it can be more organic. It gets harder to do that after having played the game, though. I just restarted DA: O with a lady Brosca and I gave up after completing a few of the faction quests because it was boring to know exactly where that story was going to already. It's one of the reasons why I'm so excited about DA: I. I'm ready for a new adventure.

You should share your qunari concept here, if you want.
It's not like there's a great thread for that kind of discussion outside of the general "who your character" threads (well there was, but I am fairly sure it shared the same fate as the elven support one, yes?) so this can be a "****** free safe space" for people to share qunari concepts.... just shuuuush dont tell any of the people who like to argue about the Qun. ![]()
I posted my idea awhile ago....hrm...oooh, okay, I found it. (just spoiled since it's a double post, no spoilers inside it). One a side note, I'm amazed that this thread has moved so fast that a post I made three days ago was like, 10 pages back. We dwarf fans are chatty lately. :DDDD
Is that hair style only for humans? or is it used for all male genders? ![]()
Is that hair style only for humans? or is it used for all male genders?
There's no separation in hairstyles by gender. And pretty much everyone except qunari get the same hairstyles, I understand.

That's correct. Humans, elves, and dwarves share hairstyles with males and females having access to all of them. Qunari have separate (and greatly limited) options. Males and females have a few unique ones for them, but nothing major with the exception of a style that is male only.
Also, there are about 6-8 more styles than are shown in that picture, but most of them are variations of a buzz cut.

To the dwarves!
Unfortunately, I will probably wait till my second play-through to be a sexy bearded dwarven lady, simply because I don't want to be race-locked out of any potential romances. (I'm glaring at you Cullen and Solas.) HOWEVER my main warden was a dwarf and I shall honor her memory in all my play-throughs. ;-;
Also, psyched to be playing someone from house Cadash. I mean, being Aeducan + a living paragon was good, but being in the same house as Shale? In a prominent crime family? Awesome.
When you guys create your Dwarves, do you know what sort of look your going for or trying to design him/her off someone?
My original concept for Zhenya (warrior) was: Blonde, short curly hair, violet eyes, fair skin (no freckles). The curly hair is a problem, so I may end up with one of the buzz cut/short ones for her. If there was a mohawk or some sort of complicated thin braids, I'd much have preferred that. She's probably going to be mid-30s, and have at least one facial scar, a facial tattoo (but not a casteless brand), and little to no makeup. I'll be trying for feminine enough you wouldn't mistake her for a guy, but no one would ever dare call her "cute" (with the possible exception of IB).
Volya (rogue) is Black short curly hair, very pale brown eyes with olive green outer ring, dark skin. Mid to late 20s, a least one facial scar but no tattoos (too memorable on a rogue), very light makeup. Angular features.
For both, I'll start with a default and work until I like the result.
Everyone's latest dwarves sound amazing! Wrote down some more concepts for mine but I'm at work (and...probs shouldn't be sneaking on the Bioware forums
) for the next 9 hours or so...might post 'em later.
@veeia: Funny you should mention your Hella Cadash being fond of the Dalish btw - I have kind of the opposite, a Dalish elfquisitor whom I headcanon as having spent years working with surfacer dwarf smiths. (He is a ridiculously honest, hardworking type who does not approve of the Carta. I think of him as Ned Stark Elf.)
Random question: Did anyone else roll living Paragon Aeducan/Brosca for DAO? How would they react to your dwarfquisitors?

The more the merrier.
I agree - it's awesome we can be a part of Shale's House. Hopefully someone will mention her in the game.
