Ok, I'm not planning to romance The Iron Bull - the height difference is just too big for me. Also he's not my type.

 

However, I think Merry has a different opinion. Whenever I leave her alone next to the Bull sooner or later this happens:

 

 

The first time I saw this I was like - OMG what are you looking at, Young Lady?! However, after a while I got to conclusion Merry has issues. I really need to get her laid.

 

Are any of my Dwarven Sisters or Brothers riding the Bull? If so what do you think of this particular romance?

Way too funny! And possibly done on purpose by the devs (after all, Oghren made a joke about being the right height to give a human woman a good time...)

 

I originally planned to romance him with Zhenya because of the height difference (I thought it would be fun to see how they handled it.) But the, um, personal tastes aren't compatible, and I'm not willing to rewrite Zhenya . I'll probably create a dwarf for him eventually, though.

I thought about romancing IB as a Dwaf but he has a better chance of killing me then a dragon does if I dare do that.

I went for "Ruffles", as Varric loves to say.

Also Seda looks awesome as always! I'm really impressed how many different characters CC allow us to create. Although CC has several issues which kind of drive me mad, if you spend enough time with it you can make really fantastic inquisitor.

Cole just told Varric that he likes traveling with dwarves,    . MY favorite character in the series likes traveling with my favorite race  .

I was tempted to pick IB when he mentioned a couple times that he had a thing for redheads and my character just happened to be a redhead. I flirted with Sera, laughed at the conversations, and was sure she was going to be it. And then the next day, I completed a quest for Blackwall and had more dialogue with him. He hit all the right feels with how I like to play my character so I picked him. I'm a huge fan of Lukas Kristjanson's writing so Sera will be my next playthrough. DAO was my first Bioware game and I picked a dwarf to play. When I found out there were "romances," I scoffed at the idea of a dwarf wanting to romance a human. Pfft. I started one because I was curious how it worked and Alistair surprised me when he worried he wasn't good enough for a dwarf. (D'aww.) Ever since then, I've been somewhat nostalgic for dwarf/human pairings. If there is ever a day where a dwarf romance becomes available, I will genuinely be torn between playing as a human romancing a dwarf or being a dwarf chasing another dwarf. =p

Just have to say...all your Dwarves look amazing and so beautiful! I'm still on hol and hopefully home tomorrow night but Game has delivered my Dragon Age Deluxe Edition! So....when I'm home, I'll be spending a few hours creating a badass Dwarf (hopefully) haha I've changed my character's name to Borrz now but don't know what gender to go :/ Do I go the badass, heavy hitter Borrz or the sneaky but deadly little Dwarf Iggie?

I tend to like my female dwarf warriors (or did, still haven't seen video of one to know whether the new skinny female dwarves are convincing as immovable tanks).

There are "new skinny female dwarfs"? My female Two-hander looks fine to me in regards to her frame and I haven't seen any pics of skinny looking dwarves.

They are noticeably thinner than in DAO, especially in the shoulders and arms, so much thinner than the male dwarves that I don't think they look like the same race anymore *shrug*. I know most people don't share my opinion and seem to love how cute they now look (not that there's anything wrong with cute), but I would have liked one race with women who still looked like they had enough muscle to hold up a shield through a normal fight and swing a heavy sword.

I went with warrior and picked 2H to explain the scars (no shield to hide behind). In one of the early conversations with Josephine where we can fill out the blanks for our background, I told her:

... that I guarded the caravans of smuggled goods and we often got ambushed by rivals. I liked the bodyguard angle better.

Edit: Tishina, I had the exact same concerns about the new model, but after playing for a good while, I'm satisfied with the plate armor adding enough bulk that she feels like a powerhouse, particularly with the shoulder pads added in.

Haven't forgotten about this thread or my own dwarf stuff, just trying to finish up my qunari play first before I record more videos and post a comic/fan art I have plans for.

 

A question though, for anyone else who's done the Orlesian ball with a dwarf and an LI (especially if it was Cassandra)

I recently discovered your LI is supposed to show at the end of the quest and you have the option to dance with them. That didn't happen in my Dorn play. Instead, Josephine showed up. Not sure if this was a bug or if I wasn't far along enough in the Cass romance to get it just yet. Kind of disappointed. D: Will have to see on my replay of Dorn and do the ball later along in the romance, but did anyone else get this scene with their LI? I know Aimo had hers with Blackwall.

Oh, thank you for letting me know! The videos I've seen have tended heavily to humans, female elves, and male qunari with one or two male dwarves. I have yet to really see a female dwarf warrior in play. And that's probably the background I'll take for Zhenya.

I have to say that Thoryn Cadash is rather depressed that he had no chance to flirt with Scout Harding yet!

 

The poor guy will probably have to settle for Cass then.

 

I am going to have every character I make flirt with her. Harding LI option for DLC!!

How many of you are playing archers? After 25 hours of playing (I'm currently level 9) I find archery a bit of dull and I'm thinking about re-specing for dual daggers since it looks more exciting (also bows are kind of weak in damage department ). Does archery get better later? (I have all skills from archery tree on basic and full draw on advanced. Also I have stealth from subterfuge tree)

 

Also do you pick the skills of your NPCs or do you use auto-leveling? I think I need to re-spec my team mates (who should get what?) cause no matter how much I try I can't clean up the vault in Valaamar (which is by the way the coolest part of the game yet - why can't we get a game about dwarves?!)

 

I would be grateful for help / hints / tactis.
