Will your female dwarf be enough to satisfy his demands? lol
Poor little thing's gonna have her work cut out for her, that's for sure ![]()

Loooove this, two of my fav GW's are my casteless chick/male noble
I gotta start my "evi" noble gal at some point
Psh, my dwarf's going to drink Iron Bull under the table and tank for him. He's going to be all like "This short thing is terrifying!" and I'll be like "yep."
That is my plan.

Might be the other way around. Weren't dwarves supposed to be doin it rather constantly to keep their population up against the darkspawn? And with anyone since their kid has half a chance of being their own caste rather than their lovers?
I'm just saying if they've held up against the darkspawn by outbreeding them they're the race to keep up with.

Well our inquisitor is a surface dwarf, and I'm sure he/she doesn't have to deal with the darkspawns like that. Speaking of that … does anyone know where the dwarf inquisitor is from?

Somewhere in the Free Marches I think. All the inquisitors seem to be from there.

Really? I thought that only the humans were from the Free Marches. Does this mean that Varric may know of the Carta we're from? That would be awesome!

The Cadashes are surface dwarves, so the Free Marches make as much sense as anywhere. The DAI character page says "you spent your life on the streets of various Free Marcher city-states..."
There's been a lot of dirt kicked up about the elven origin being Dalish and grumbling about not being able to follow the Qun and even some "why not a human commoner?", but I haven't seen much complaints really from the dwarf fans. I know for me, I'm just thrilled to have the OPTION to play as a dwarf, haha. I'm relatively happy with the surface dwarf/Carta story, it's interesting and will probably be fun for RP.... but if I could do anything I want (and this is just a pure fantasy/preference of mine, I know they might not even fit in with the story of Inquistion), I'd want to play as a non-topsider again. Orzammar is pretty messed up, but it's endlessly fascinating, and gives such a different perspective. Brosca was my favorite origin, but I'd go for a noble underground dweller again, haha. It'd also be cool if you started the game off as a Legion of the Dead member, and you get to fill in your own headcanons about why you're there.
What about you guys?
Every time i see the title of this thread i always think about a child support for a dwarf ![]()
it makes me laugh.
I would have killed to play a Casteless again... Not anything big, though. Like, killed a dragonfly.
But on the flip side, I've been there. I've bought the t-shirt. Ditto for being a dwarf noble.
We haven't really gotten into surfacer life from the inside, beyond Varric, who's prone to hyperbole and flippant remarks. What do surface dwarves believe? What are they really like? Iunno, but we're going to find out.
And it probably covers more unknowns than exploring the Caste system more.
Argh, Legion of the Dead. My Brosca wore that armor the whole game and died taking down the Archdemon and it was amazing.

My Aeducan lady did the same.
I was so happy when we found out we could be dwarves again. Dwarf warrior lady is a go!
When in doubt, warrior tanks are awesome.
...Your templar idea sounds pretty amazing.
I support the dwarves. They have heart and they are fun. Going for tumbles and sodding it all. I hope to see them do well and many accept the Qun.

Surfacer claptrap.
Surfacer pride!
Is it bad the reason I love dwarves so much is just because my first warden was a dwarf. And the reason she was, was because when I was picking backgrounds I had no idea what they were like and just saw that as a dwarf you could be a priiiiiinnnncceeeessss.
Yeah, that was really awesome. I'd never come across a game before where you could be Dwarven princess. Epic. You can still talk down to people, despite almost all being taller. ![]()
I find myself being tempted to give Dwarves a go this time around. I used to play Dwarves a lot in my youth, playing pnp RPG's - my Warhammer FRP Giant Slayer was a legendary bad ass - but for some reason I could never get behind them in DA.
I won't lie, I do like to be happy with the aesthetics of my character and often spend a long time in the CC - I just couldn't get a dwarf I was really happy to sit through 40+ hours of gameplay with. Also there was something about the arms in DA:O which put me off - can't put it any more eloquently than that.
I haven't seen much dwarf footage other than that video with the female human Inq. Have I missed anything?

That footage with the dwarven scout leader is the only one I've seen.
Honestly, I liked the DAO dwarves, though some of the proportions could have been better. In fact, the first HN I created had a face that I realized halfway through looked a lot like most of the dwarves. And the Origin stories for the dwarves were fantastic (and you really get a strong reaction to you AS that origin when you return for the Paragon quests).
I love that we are a surfacer this way we get another viewpoint of dwarven society we have been a Noble,Casteless & now a surfacer which is awesome.
It's pretty cool, although one could argue you already get that pretty well with Varric...it will be very interesting to have the PC have that background. I think for a total new viewpoint, it'd be super rad to play a dwarf from Kal'Sharok. We know so little about it, but what we do is super interesting....I keep waiting for it to come up in a bigger way!
