It certainly makes you more reliant on strategy guides, just to make sure you aren't wasting your time and only go after things you can put to use.

I notice the merchants seem to sell a butt load of parts for Bianca, which seems weird since it's a one companion weapon (and as much as I like him, I'll probably rarely take him because I've always found dealing with traps and such annoying).

With Borrz; I'm going to take Blackwall/Bull, Sera and maybe Dorian once I get him :) Varric will be used for my qunari or something

well the reason for all the bianca parts is because Varric cannot use a bow and most people will leave him as an archer so thus all the parts, you can also craft bianca parts as well.

also keep in mind the parts actually change the way bianca looks D: for those who did not notice ;)

I really don't get it why out of sudden armors are race restriced. In DA:O every race could use every armor and everyone was happy...

I don't mind this because armor in DAO looked like they were made for humans first and then scaled down for dwarves. It didn't look right, especially with the oversized shoulder pads. The exceptions were the dwarven armor that came out of Orzammar, particularly the Legion of the Dead. I had mixed feelings about seeing humans run around in them, like the armor somehow magically got bigger. Legion of the Dead is a very specific group of dwarves and I definitely appreciate that their armor is race-gated now. If a human player wants to pretend they're a badass in black armor, they're free to re-roll into the master race. ;)

I need to find the qunari only armor. I found an elf-only, and the Legion of the Dead armor is dwarf only. So somewhere out there will be a qunari-only. I'm really enjoying my qunari's play-through more than I thought. At first it was just to try out the "new" playable race, but I stayed up the whole night playing with him. And I haven't done that for a while.

Edit: Oh, forgot to include screenshot of my character riding the dwarven mount. I am so tickled with the amount of dwarven stuff that has made it into the game. I am just floored, I really am.

Ces, what class are you playing as? Because I'm interested by the Qunari and I might have a mage but how you finding being a qunari? :)

I'm playing as a Necromancer, which is my favorite class in the fantasy world. My favorite race is dwarf, while my favorite class is Necromancer. I had that same problem in Baldur's Gate,  :P . I'll just said that the Qunari is coming in real close to being my second favorite race. The only problems are in cut scenes. I'm too tall to see my character face sometimes, and the back of my neck clips through my shirt. I like how my companions was reacting to not only me being a qunari mage, but an Necromancer qunari mage.

So bottom-line, I'm having a lot fun playing with the qunari, and I seem more immersed into the world. Which is why I wished that I played my dwarf on the second play-through, but I just so eager and ready to play with a dwarf  :( .

Love the photo! However it does sound as if dwarves and qunari are getting a little shorted on armors if there are three full sets limited to humans (and Legion of the Dead is dwarf warrior only). With my luck, I'll consistently get drops of great armor for a race/class combination that won't be useable by my PC or any companion. :P

Tish its actually not as bad as you think those armors are limited to but a few enemies :)

I assume not since no one seems that upset about it. I just know my luck too when they restrict things like that (In MMORPGs, I always get fantastic non-transferrable drops that are completely useless) :P

"Oh wow, look at that fantastic light saber that uses strength that just dropped! Except, I'm a level 24 imperial agent who uses cunning, and I'm pretty certain no companion I get ever uses a light saber. And...it's non-transferable. Oh, well, time to vendor it I guess."

Regarding the Legion of the Dead, I agree that it's weird to see it jump from height to height for different races when you looted it from Dwarven corpses.

That said, one must also remember that the Legion accepts all. They accepted a Pentaghast (IIRC) and certainly an Elven warrior. It's not unreasonable to assume they'd craft Legion style armor for different races among their ranks.

The Legion accepts all

I just made my dwarf for nightmare difficulty. He's awesome and I feel like I'm playing for the first time again.   Since I'm playing on nightmare, he's mostly likely going to be my canon one. He's going to be a templar that support the mages. I'm loving the sword and shield combat. My party members will be Dorian( first same-sex romance ever), Varric, and Blackwall. My close friends will be (Varric, Cole, and Vivienne.) I won't care too much about the others approval or disapproval, and not even much for the people that I want him to be close to. I'll complete 100% of everything, so this play-through will take a while to be finished. :D

Gay dwarf ftw!  Let me know what you think of Dorian's romance.  Funny enough, as someone who pretty much exclusively does s/s romances, my lady dwarf might be the first 'straight' romance that I've done since Alistair in DA: O.  Unless she falls for Sera, I suppose.

You'll be the first to know. Did you romance him on your qunari? This actually my first in any Bioware game. I got the love/hate for Sera.

Yeah, I went with Dorian for my qunari.  I'm going to go with Bull for my male dwarf.  And either Sera or Blackwall for my lady dwarf.

Dorian's romance is really good.  It's probably my second favorite m/m romance out of all of the Bioware ones.  Only Kaidan's is better, so far.

Of course, I haven't done Bull's yet either.

Hah! A Tevinter outcast who feels his homeland is not beyond saving, who left because his father couldn't handle his son liking other men, in a relationship with a Qunari.

Lot of irony there it seems. I like it. They wouldn't expect it to happen, that someone from that land would fall in love with a Qunari.

I'm almost tempted to do a S/S romance with Dorian myself. But then there's a female Inquisitor with Bull, or Nasir with Josephine after Nasir with Cassandra, and female elf with Sera, and female elf with Solas, etc.

Yeah, I imagine that there was an implied middle finger being presented to his father when we had the "we're not just friends" conversations in front of him....  Gotta love it.

I'll be making a female dwarf for Blackwall (Solas would have been nice too, if he was any option for her). I'm playing a male cadash for Cassandra now.

I have a feeling I won't be able to play anything other than dwarves.

I know the feeling, but at least give the qunari a chance! I feel that Blackwall is underrated, which is why I'll be bring the grey warden along with me. Plus I didn't do his personal quest on my first play-through.

Blackwall is awesome both as a companion and as LI   Just re-spec him for double handed weapon. Since he's one of the most interesting characters I have no idea why BW didn't advertise him before the game release. We knew almost nothing about him.

Right now my favorites are Blackwall, Cassy, Vivi and Varric.

Leliana was the first SS romance I ever played through, mostly because I have had a hard time playing a male PC. I liked it so much, I'd have to say that's probably my canon world (though I always wished I could have more conversations with her about how elves were treated). I finally managed a male warden PT because I really wanted a Morrigan romance, then I wanted to see if the Zevran one differed as a male Warden. I still much prefer playing as a female PC, but I'm also really looking forward to the Dorian and Cass romances, currently planning a Qunari rogue for Dorian and Dwarf rogue for Cassandra.
