I'm also waiting for the dwarves to play a bigger role in the story. My favorite part of DAO was going to Orzammar, and getting into the dwarves politics. That moment was also so fun, because I was this Casteless dwarf and everyone didn't like me interfering. Also, talking to Zerlinda and trying to help her father accept his grandson. Seem like that what's our dwarf warden commoner and dwarf Inquisitor will have in common, which my dwarf inquisitor is going to be pro-chantry while my dwarf warden didn't like the chantry that much.

I can't decide what faith my dwarven inquisitor is going to be! I really liked what we learned of the Dwarven religious practices and had an awesome time integrating that into my concept of my Warden, and it would be cool to revisit that from the perspective of someone who is culturally Dwarven but not...pious or reverent, because they're a surfacer.
On the other hand, Andrastrian dwarf is a cool idea (besides Burkel, he can suck it). How would you navigate through that, especially given that as a member of a Lyrium smuggling family, you've probably been very privy to Chantry corruption? There's also the possibility of Imperial Chantry, since dwarves have such a tight relationship with Tevinter, but I don't think Cadash has spent much time at the embassy there or anything, so that'd be a reach. Plus I don't wanna be Imperial Andrastrian.
I've also sort of conceptualized my Cadash as a bit of an insufferable hipster, so maybe she worships the Creators, because it's "so less mainstream and more...natural....the noble elves man, they're so spiritual." LIke she gets a Dalish tattoo even though she doesn't know what it means because it makes her feel "connected" or something.

The chant doesn't mention Dwarves at all, in fact one of the sisters i think in origins tells a dwarf warden something along the lines of, "Why would the chant mention heathens?" or something close to that. I cracked up, and was like, "I'm not a heathen!" and she dismissive, like "Of course you aren't dear, you just don't know anything." LOL WTF? XD
come to think about it my poor Lady Aeducan had a really rough time being a Surface Dwarf and visiting Orzammar, everyone back home is calling me a murderer even though I was framed and most of them know it or are starting to question the story Bhelen said, but hey I'm called murderer and exile to my face while im there. Then the surfacers are calling me names like Heathen, and greedy dwarf, a kinslayer, foreigner and so on.

I bet a serious Dwarven sect of Andrastrianism would find a way to put themselves in. After all, there has to be some translation they can tweak to make it seem relevant, or maybe some long lost book, or...idk. People are pretty good at adapting religions to their culture.

Besides the carta connections, I wonder how important we will feel by being a dwarf. What I mean is what situation in the game "plot wise", could a dwarf be better at then the other races? (besides magic Resistance) I mean since DAO The Dalish/city elves seem to be the most relevant next to the humans, and the dwarves are left to feel like the "just there" race. I am glad we are getting to be a surfacer this time round and being in the high ranks of the carta instead of the lowest (still love my brosca). I am hoping that we will get to use our carta connections to get supplies and maybe have our own carta troops (like part of the scouts or military). Also would Cadash and Brosca know each other, hmmm probably not but that would be cool. Also would we get to meet the cadash family? or a least a few of them? I hope so!

Surface dwarves probably have a little more potential to be Andrastian because they are exposed to it more and according to Dwarven traditions they are kind of considered less than nothing.

I'm more curious if Varric knows about the Cadash house. I imagine most of the quests or other options relates to the protagonist's Carta connections. Sorta like the quest in ME1 where an old contact tries to blackmail you about your past if you were raised on Earth. I also hope we get to meet Shale. ![]()

The guy at Orzammar's gate always made me laugh. "Oh....kinslayer? You're definately not getting in.

Well my pre-role playing, since I don't know much about how Cadash is in the Carta, I want him to like worship in secret, and not be able to fully show his faith until becoming the Inquisitor. I feel that our Carta is well-known, but also a little under the radar since we're a smuggling crime group, and I don't think many good citizen would like a couple of smugglers running around. I also wonder if we're going to have some connection with the Carta that was in the Legacy DLC.
Varric might have a connection with our smuggling group, since he's part of the merchant group and they'll probably do business with the smuggling crowd.

This could be really good or really bad, if I recall how Varric talked about the "merchant" families. What are the odds that the Tethris family and the Cadash family have bad blood between them over a lyrium deal or something?

I believe he's going to have a lot to say us, just being another surface dwarf. I think he may know of our little family, but something tells me that he never got a chance to meet our character.

I think regardless of how our "new" friendship (apart form him and hawk) with him starts, I am sure as a fellow surface dwarf we would have a decent amount of things to talk about. Plus now that I think about it our cadash maybe able to understand varrics emotional pain when it comes to branka more than the other races. Since we would know how cruel the carta life can be. What do you two think?

I do hope that we get a lot of good Varric-Cadash content.
I was also reading part of WoT again, where they talked about how well the dwarves and tevinter got along, which makes me want more Dorian Cadash content too!

Hrm, I wouldn't want that written in as part of the dwarf path. What if someone wants to play a Cadash who is very not sympathetic to people's emotional pain, you know?

I am sure there is an option on weather or not to be sympathetic. There could be some Dorian/Cadash content. I am just trying to think of dwarf exclusive stuff that could be in the game.

Well for one, I think Varric personality might be affected if you gave him a piece of that shard. We'll probably get the option to emotional connect with him, just like Veeia said, someone probably wouldn't want to play a caring Cadash. Our Carta might not be that cruel, since we're consider a family. Personally, I feel that we're going to be able to connect a lot with Varric. I'm looking forward to Hardling as the leader of the scout, and also reaction from everyone that an ex-carta member is leading an important. Especially walking out of the Fade as a dwarf, and having this "magic touch" on our hand. I wonder If people will denied our dwarfness lol.

I think they said Dagna could make an appearance, and there's the scout leader who is also presumably a casteless-surface dwarf (I can't imagine someone working as a scout on the surface who'd never seen a tree up close before and hadn't had time to adjust to the sky...) There could be some fun conversations with both of them, and it sounded as if we may have ambassadors from factions we ally with at Skyhold.

Oh! Maybe we could get Blackwall exclusive dialogue too, since the Grey Wardens are so keen on dwarves. Could be awkwardly amusing too, since Cadash is a surface dwarf and doesn't necessarily have to care about the Deep Roads/darkspawn at all.
Blackwall: Yours is a noble people. Once, I encountered a regiment of the Legion of the Dead. I cannot imagine a more honorable group of people.
Cadash: Hah! You mean the Legion of the Dreadfully Boring? If you ask me, they're an embarrassment to our race. Who just gives up on life like that, when there are so many elves to smooch and vintage wines to taste?
Blackwall: ....
