I've been trying to search for this as well. I've found there is a level 8 medium armor called "Carta Coat" (dwarf-only) that is in a chest in Hinterlands. I remember seeing it and tossing it at Varric because I couldn't use it. I don't know what it looks like on someone Not-Varric. This video shows where to find it:

I know it's not the same as crafting with your own medium-armor schematic. However I DID see this comment on a different thread so maybe you can still make Legion of the Dead armor for rogues:
 

I don't have any silverite atm so I can't verify this. (Have not unlocked Emprise du Lion yet.)

 

  That would be amazing.  I have silverite and the Legion of the Dead armor on my qunari save.  When I get home, I'm going to try crafting one and putting it on Varric.  If that works, I'm definitely going to give that armor to Graeme when I get him where he needs to be (unlocked Emprise du Lion and Hissing Wastes).  To hell with the fact that he'll be zipping around the battle in heavy armor.  I want him proper dwarven armor, dammit!  In the meantime, I'll follow that video since I'm in the Hinterlands with him now and get that Carta Coat for him (even though I'm too low to wear it now).  Thanks!

 

After more than 20 do-overs(and I'm not exaggerating), I have finally made the one I'll like to spend over 200 hours on. But I did forget to pick the british voice, so I'm scare to start over just to do that  .

, there is a bug that automatically changes the voice back to default.  It happened to my qunari, so I just ended up going with

to avoid it.  That might work out for you.  Of course, by then, you might have gotten used to the British voice.

 

Dave, you should do Josie or Blackwall with Agatha, imo. They're the cutest/most fun options for lady Cadash, imo.

I'm leaning towards Blackwall.  I think Josie is a little too sweet for me.  I know she's got a twinkle in her eye at times, but I like my lady LI's (on the rare occasion that I go with one) to have a bit harder edge to them.  I was thinking maybe Sera would have that edge, but I had wanted to romance Blackwall way back before we knew he was straight, so at least I'll get to romance him in some capacity if I go with him.

 

I just really like doing s/s romances and I feel guilty when I don't.  It's like, here I am on the board ringing the gong for more s/s romances, and then when they offer them, I choose an o/s romance for my lady character.  I feel obligated!  Which is dumb, but that's how I roll!

No Dave, that's how I feel too! I felt really guilty doing a o/s romance my first PT! Especially with my lady! I'm bisexual, so it's not a struggle, but I prefer women and I'm married to a dude so I REALLY prefer to do do f/f if I can.

But Sera did not work for her at ALL and Josie is just a bit too sweet for my tastes. I am sure that I will find a character for Sera, and probably Josie eventually...but yeah. Disappointed a bit with the f/f romances. Glad I at least love Dorian, so the m/m isn't a wash for me. (I'll do IB but probably with a woman because I prefer to play female)

I'm very disappointed with f/f romances.

 

Sera - she acts like an irresponsible teenager which if you want a mature relationship is big Nope. When you tell her to grow up she's all butthurt. Not to mention this whole talk about "Little people" gets boring and tiring pretty fast.

 

As for Josie - I guess she could be good m/f LI, but as f/f (at least to me) she feels flat and not interested.

 

And what's even worse - BW really knows how to make good f/f romance (Leli and Sam - I'm talking about you gals) so I don't get it what went wrong this time around.

I got my hands on the Legion of the Dead schematic and the 2H maul. I do not currently know if there's a matching helmet yet or if there's another dwarf-specific armor in the game. If you do know, please share so I can hunt it down. Here's the information on the Legion of the Dead armor (where to find it, what it looks like, etc). I'd love to see this armor on a dwarf male, too, so share screenshots if you've got your hands on it.

If I wanted to make a Dwarf and wanted to run with Varric too, should I do a DW Rogue, an Archer, or a Warrior? I'm inclined to the Rogues as I have a Warrior elf already.

It doesn't matter. Play whatever class you like. My character Merry is an archer and she works with Varric & Bianca just fine

I'd go Warrior as then it can balance out with Varric being a Rogue, but as long as you have fun that's what counts.

I did an archer on hard with Cole and Varric in my party, so I think you could handle anything that comes your way.

Sera to me is controversial and people seem to either love her or despise her and she is that character, but I am glad for a character whose personality is "quirkiness" to be given the full stretch rather than just being cute or endearing. But Josephine to me had all the romance and storybook love I always wanted for f/f. No evil exes, no super tragic past, but a full character.

 

I guess it really is subjective.

 

My cadash fit Sera pretty well surprisingly. They came from the same place in a lot of ways. And Banuc understood her and why she did the things she did. Was really curious about how she could be so idealistic, but weirdly enough Sera's quest kinda cemented the similarities in her mind. But I mean Sera was perfect for this playthrough, and i think liking or disliking the romances is 90% of the time subjective.

I love Sera. A lot. But she requires a certain kind of character to work well with, and Hella was the exact opposite. That happens.

Unfortunately I don't know if Sera has a place in any of the kind of stories I want to tell with any of my dwarf characters. So she's going to be pushed back until I play Qunari or human.
