While I might get some flack for this I have to ask: Why ever since Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age Origins is our player character not allowed to make racist remarks? In Mass Effect 1 you can make an entire speech of pro-human and anti-alien garbage on the Normandy and in Dragon Age: Origins the Dalish Elf at least can make it clear he/she thinks of humans in rather unflattering terms and can make this point clear right up to endgame.
Come Dragon Age II however and not a single racist comment from even the most aggressive and depraved of Hawkes no matter what dialogue you pick. This sticks out even more since practically every race at one point makes disparaging remarks about you - CIty Elves, Dalsih Elves, Qunari etc etc. Each of them will call you a derogatory title and not once is Hawke shown being offended by this or being allowed to throw back 'Knife Ear' or 'Hornhead' in response. While I understand the need for it and have no desire to play as a racist nutbag it's somewhat surprising considering I could play as a human hating elf in Origins. Blood Magic as well - Even on Friendship path with Merrill your character always defaults to 'Blood Magic shouldn't be used if possible' and you're not allowed to act like you don't care if it's blood magic or any other magic and at worst you get grudging acceptance.
Will the Inquisition go back to Mass Effect 1 style and allow us to change the character's views on the races and religion? Playing as a Qunari, even one not loyal to the Qun, should by all rights get different responses compared to the human noble who was raised as a devout Andrastian and possibly was meant to join the Templars. That and every other character has their own chips: Even Varric apparently doesn't like Qunari and Cassandra still makes assumptions on Mages.
