Hold on, 2 ends seven years after Origins, and Inquisition is set ten years after Origins, three years after 2. Pretty sure...

30's and 40's are elderly now? Man, I'm just now getting out of college and I guess I have 7 years until retirement.

I gotta admit this thread is obvious trolling bait, but at least it's amusing.  :P

It is subjective. If you asked someone who is 30-40 years old then of course he/she would say that's not old. However, if you asked a teenager then yes, 30+ is old.

@Tamyn, Anders hit on Oghren in Awakening, keep them two in your party for awhile and you will see Oghren brushing Anders off of him. So, no, Anders isn't changed.

I'm not talking about who he hits on. I'm talking about a personality and voice transplant. And I don't want to get into a long discussion about it here.

He didn't seem different to me.  That is your opinion and this is mine, him hitting on males though was in Awakening, so he being bi is in Awakening, if paid attention to Oghren and Anders chats.  So, in essence it will be a forever deal.  Voicing for characters, meh, don't care. Voice changes doesn't bother me.

Out of those 3 Varric was the only one I would have been interested in romancing in DA:I but even so, I prefer the new characters as LI's.

I'm good with leaving Morrigan and Leliana to my Wardens. I'm fine with Cassandra, Josephine and Vivienne :)  ;)  :P

I'm surprised people are upset about Leliana and Morrigan not being options in DAI, the possibility of them being the romances in Origins alone was enough of a reason for me, its really no different than Kaiden/Ashley and Liara not able to join you in ME 2 cause of them being romances in ME 1 and not going on the suicide mission.

Heartbroken as I am over Varric, you should really give the new characters a chance. How do you know they're not just as great as the returning ones?

Ditto.

Haha. No double-dipping your romances in the Dragon Age series!

Think about how hurt people would feel if morrigan and lelianna started to go flirting around with another pc leaving there wardens to dry.

Well it seems like I will get best romances for me ^^; Cullen, Dorian, Cassandra, maybe Solas, so many that I hoped to get. We have had our changes with Morrigan and Leliana already. Though lack of romance with Varric makes me little sad, it'd have been good ^^

This.

Apart from that, just imagine how people would react were they romancable in DAI....it'd be a veritable sh*tstorm.

What are you talking about, OP? Cassandra is romanceable....

The only thing you gotta worry about when in a romance with her is hiding the books and sheets of paper or else she'll stab them.

If Leliana and Morrigan were in a relationship with the Warden then it should stay that way; if not then they are probably not interested in a romance at this stage.   As for Varric, well it's been revealed in comics that Bianca is a real woman as well as his crossbow, so it would seem as if he is still not over her; it makes sense that he is not a possible romance.

It is a pity they couldn't have introduced a new character or brought an old one back for dwarves.   They do seem to get short changed over the romances.    I know that humans are the dominant race in Thedas but even so having only 4 out 12 companions/advisors as non human races seems a bit uneven.    If Solas is a romance then that would make 3 out of 8 non human romances, which is a slightly better ratio, but if not, then only 2 out of 8 which is worse.

That said, I'm really looking forward to the new ones.   My male characters seem to have a bigger choice than my female, particularly as my female PCs are straight and I'm really not attracted to horns but you never know, even Iron Bull might grow on me once I get to know him.

So far as I'm concerned the best romances were Alistair, Zevran and Fenris but I wouldn't want any of them turning up as romances in this game.   I was really annoyed with the bug that had Zevran bedding Isabella and/or Hawke when he was meant to be devoted to my Warden (even if dead), so I'd prefer no option of any bed time with old companions, whether romantic or just a fling, so my memory of the previous romances isn't ruined.

Exactly. Cassandra's not a fanatic.

She's religious, but she doesn't hostilely proselytize nor does she follow Chantry doctrine like its Maker-given law.

Cassandra is just an angry woman who wants peace and justice, even if it means going against her duty and faith.

People are putting way too much attention towards these romances, it's only a small part of the game. In my opinion, they made a good choice - Morrigan and Leliana were Warden's potential LIs and as for Varric, it wouldn't fit his character.

If you want to romance Leliana and Morrigan then go play DAO.

Thank you, been saying this for years...

You know, one of the great criticisms of the romances in BioWare games tends to be the availability of the romances for all the different orientations, but that doesn't bother me even though I will never explore some of those romances. However, what would bother me and greatly would be if the romances in BioWare games started blatantly exhibiting a lack of loyalty once you initiate them, and that's what it would mean if Morrigan and Leliana were available to go around the block with the Inquisitor - that they are showing a lack of loyalty to their previous romance with your previous character because it's not like they likely ever gave your Warden a break-up notice.

It's why I would call Jacob's romance the single worst one ever and slap in the face of any FemShep who romanced him. He didn't even tell her he was breaking up with her. He just jumped into bed with someone else.

And that's what people are asking for when they want Morrigan and Leliana to be available as LIs.

What was it with femshep, she was under Alliance arrest for a few months and in that short space of time Jacob cheated on her and managed to knock up another woman. Really Bioware. Like I never liked Jacob much but that really butchered his character even more. At least if they went this route with the Inquisitor your Warden has been AWOL with 10 years, it's been a long time.

I'm actual happy that our old LI's are off limits myself, fingers crossed for a good reunion scene perhaps.
