Like the title suggests, I recently purchased the game, without having played the first game or the prequel(Records of Agarest War: Zero). Now, I'm pretty much aware of the whole 'Generations' mechanic, but I don't know anything about the story itself, so going into the sequel without playing either of the 2 other games doesn't feel right. Should I play it or wait 'til I play the first one or Zero? Decisions, decisions...

I checked Wikipedia/GameFAQS, got no idea. You might have better luck asking hyah.

Thanks! It looks like a promising thread. Just posted my inquiry there. Hope I get some more responses here, though.

Apparently Records of Agarest War 2 is in another universe then the original and the prequel. I played Generations of War first which I think is a better option since you won't be able to see a certain plot twist coming from a mile away.

Generations of War seems to be just the European version of the first game. So you say I should start with the first one, then? If the sequel is in another universe, then perhaps there wouldn't be much trouble getting into it, right?

Damnit I keep getting them mixed up sorry. I would go for the sequel first since you have it now and there won't be any story spoilers since alternate universe and all that.

After that I'd go with Record of Agarest War Zero (I think that's the American name) then go with the first one.

You can also get the first one on your tablet or phone if you really want to.

I actually like it when I first tried out the demo long time ago but don't own two full games. i recommend that you go to the store online to get free Content that's made for the game. if you're playing the game on PS3.
