Which is not to say I don't like them, but none of them really seem to be my type of romance. I am a heterosexual who is agnostic, and I generally like to roleplay my characters within those boundaries. Which is to say my religious beliefs are important because I treat the chantry similarly to how I treat such things in real life. I feel like Cassandra/Cullen will be too religious for my tastes, and of course both of them have been portrayed thus far as a bit hardened. I don't see a ton of emotional resonance coming from them.

Sera is the only one of the romance interests out of the 6 revealed so far that looks like a fun romance for me, but she's a lesbian. Which is of course not to say I mind homosexual romance options, I don't. It's just I feel like the romance options available to me are fairly thin. I'm also disappointed by thus far revealed romance options because this more or less confirms I won't be able to have the love interest I choose on my party.

I'm hoping at least one of the two romance interests that are yet to be revealed are more my speed. I really just want a cute girl character who is good with people. Or someone independent and strong but nice. I guess I'm picky like that. From what we know of Josephine that actually sounds a lot like her doesn't it? I just haven't seen much of her yet so I'm not sure what to think as far as that's concerned just yet. I'm hoping she's what I'm looking for. I'm going to look up some more stuff about her! :D

Mostly though I just hope that the non-party member romance interests will actually be complete romances. The romance options included thus far that are not on the MC's party (in Bioware games so far) never seemed to be as compelling as the party romance options. Here's hoping I'm wrong!

What do you hope from the two romaining romance interests yet to be revealed? If you're disappointed a bit like I am why?

Good Lord, do a simple forum search (or even just scan the first two pages!) Before making "I don't like romances, wah!" Thread # 538.

Honestly, I like the diversity thus far and appreciate the length they have gone for each as they seemingly have, I think it's the best they could have done with the characters they have. Personally, I would have liked a couple more rogue romances in general seeing as we only have Sera and only female Inquisitors can have her, I also wouldn't have minded a male romance who isn't so large yet into men but doesn't have to rely on magic to defend himself, hence why a bisexual male rogue somewhere would have been preferable or maybe even an advisor.

My thread here will be able to answer any of your Josephine questions to the best of our ability. ^_^

As for the non-companion LIs, the advisors got the same writing budget as companions so they will be just as full in the romance department.

Cassandra's personal story in Inquisition involves her questioning her duty and faith, according to her writer David Gaider.

Maybe you should give her romance a try before assuming too much.

I think judging romances in a game that isn't even released yet is foolish

This is why I avoid playing self-insert characters in RPGs. What I enjoy about the RPG genre is the ability to experiment with/"try on" different identities and beliefs. Realistically, I would not be romantically interested in any of the men or women in any Bioware game to date, but I can conceive of and create characters who might be.

Yeah I am starting to see that the concept of "role playing" is lost on a lot of people these days

No they have grown on me, initially I was underwhelmed but after sticking around and looking at the various fan threads I'm more positive and hopeful for what's in store now. Also you can always romance Sera, just roll a fem Inquisitor, I have to do the opposite for Cassandra.

I don't get it how people say that they dissapointed already. Seriously thou. I've always failed to predict with 100% accuracy which companion I'll like and which I won't. And I always ended up romancing people I never intended to romance though I was pretty sure in the beginning.

I can't say about males obviously, but I don't see how it's so bad for now. 3 (or 4 if it turns out that Vivienne ia available) options is more than enough to pick someone, really. We had a half of that in previous games and still the majority of people were able to find someone they like.

You know I wish people who were upset with the romance options would realize something. IT'S OPTIONAL.

No, I expect to meet my quota of romancing one bisexual female with an exotic accent per game.

This made me lol, why can't you just suck it up and be like the rest of us other straight males who are going to play as a female to romance Sera? It's not going to kill you.

It's even funnier since usually straight men don't mind wathcing two girls making out. Like, at all.

Exactly. The only thing that sucks about me having to roll a male character to romance Dorian is that poor, glamorous Dorian is going to hook up with Thedas's ugliest man, because I am terrible at making male characters. It might make romantic cutscenes a bit awkward seeing my model caliber husbando swooning over Gollum, but I will persevere. B)

I'm not one of them lol I don't see the point in guys getting all hot and bothered over lesbians when they have no need for us guys lol. I am a yuri fan however thats why I was so happy and excited when Sera was announced to be lesbian, cause I find (in anime anyway) that female x female romances do romance right where male x female tends to be nothing but fan service and perv jokes with little romance.

I'd say it has to do with the fact that one might prefer their own gender; that being said, I don't disagree with you. It made me lol too :P

I myself am going be rolling as a male character from time to time even though I am female. In fact, my main two canons start with two male wardens. Yet in DA2, my Hawkes were always female (don't ask me why, I don't really know). It's all personal preference, though I also suggest that you just suck it up if you want to romance Sera and just go with.

And if you don't want to do that, well then, I can't help you. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but it's the truth.

Hehe, you can always make a character based on someone you like looking at. Maybe another game character, someone elses Inquisitor or Hawke or something like that, it'll make things easier.

It worked for me.

Lol I understand, when I am given the choice I prefer to play as females since in the past you were always forced to play a male in RPGs. And even though I am a male that got boring after a while so I started playing as females in Bioware games (keep in mind my female characters always prefer women lol) and I found it to be refreshing to play a female hero instead of the typical male hero. Thats why in Dragon Age all my head canon characters will always be female heroines cause we need more of them.

Well, I'm not really excited but I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm disappointed.  Maybe I wasn't expecting anything spectacular to begin with, but I'm willing to work with that we have... I mean, who knows, some of the romances could be really interesting.  I'll reserve judgement until I've experienced them first hand.

I used to be the same way, first time i played all 3 Mass Effects and both Dragon Age games I played as a male cause I am a male. But as I said in another post I got tired of always playing a male cause we have been forced to play males in how many games in the past? So it was refreshing to play another gender for once though as far as romances go my females are always only into other females lol. Female Warden romanced Leliana, Female Hawke romanced Isabela and my femshep went from liara to kelly to finally traynor lol. I think though in recent years we have gotten a lot more female protagonists in games I mean we always had Lara Croft in Tomb Raider and Samus in Metroid, but I think Lightning in the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy showed me just a cool a female main character can be when they are done right.
