Again why is it a important factor for ppl to bring sexual fantasies into a game, its a game for crying out loud, what is it you sex fiends.

Isn't including the option to cater in some way to one of the most natural aspects of humanity a little more essential to include in roleplaying than slaughtering countless people? ;) Not that I have any problem with violence in fiction/entertainment, but sex belongs just as much, and I'd say it belongs a lot more than it's usually represented.

Plus, being that it's an RPG, this is all optional, there should be many different ways of doing things. I personally like a wild Isabela style character, that's a fantasy of some sort sure, but so is being a sword swinging or magic hurling badass who kills anyone who bothers you. There's no point to ever go the psychoanalysis of the audience route, and certainly not calling people sex fiends, unless it's meant as a compliment that is!

Do we have any hints as to who the unknown potential romances are? There are two that we don't know about, right? I want to keep my mage-romance streak going...

Solas' VA made a statement like, "You'll be pleased" in response to a question about romance content, so people are assuming that this is evidence that he's one of the LI's.

A dev tweeted, "Soon", in response to a question about if they were going to announce that Blackwall was an LI.  It could also mean "soon, you'll know that he's not", I guess.

There's really been no hint about Vivienne other than the fact that they released a "You wish you were my valentine" card for her back in February.  People assume she's in because otherwise there would be more guys than gals as LI's, but people also said that there would be no way that there would be a 6-3 gender gap in companions as well.  I'm not completely convinced.

Varric was recently confirmed as not being an LI.

So it means that it's now down to Solas, Blackwall, and Vivienne with little evidence for each of them.

I like them, but am not blow away. As pretty as the graphics and character designs are.. No one is honestly a LI that I would go out of my way to get.

But like I said, it will be up to the LIs or impress/catch my attention.

I completed 15 dao playthroughs with dlcs expansion.
I completed 1/2 of da2, sold it for a bargain $40 and bought another just a few months ago for $10. Finally completed a playthrough and gave it away to some street urchins.

And DAI costs $69. Deluxe is $89. Cud be wrong.

I don't know; I heard some folks griping about how she was too "girly" for a warrior.

You know despite being a bloody girl.

The main issue was she had a generic look. Completely possible to make a character look just like her as your Hawke. She didnt really have a iconic, just her look, so that was what needed to be fixed. Also it is just better for characters to have realistic features with flaws attached. Side by side, DA2 Cassandra has a bit cartoonish look and while DAI cass is not perfect, she is better that way IMOH

Tell that to Mass effect :P

Every other Female was a "warrior" and apparently ignored that rule.

Can't really compare someone like say Ashley or Miranda who probably cared about how they look compared to a woman like Cass who could probably careless about how she looks. Plus looks in a sci fi setting are not really comparable with a dark fantasy setting (which tends to be in a dirtier and grittier world apposed to the more cleaner atmosphere of space ships and space stations)  Also the ME team is a completely different team than the DA team and the DA team seem to actually make an effort to make things more realistic than ME ever did when it comes to their characters and looks. (as realistic as they can in a fantasy game that is)

Eh, this was always something I didn't really care for in Mass Effect. In fairness though, people in the MEU also had the benefits of super advanced medical technology that can regenerate skin and keep you looking good as new. I rather like the more grounded, rougher look of DAI's combatants, with the exception of Vivienne, who is surrounded by the shroud of fabulous.

I cannot agree more with the people who make the point about how unrealistic it is for all of the females (and males for that matter) to have supermodel good looks.  It's not the futuristic ME world; it's a "dark" fantasy world.  I also find it amusing that some of the same people who use "realism" as an argument against including a larger variety of races and sexualities are the same people who are now complaining that the ladies aren't all feminine and "girly".  She's a dedicated warrior.  While this isn't mutually exclusive to being feminine and girly, it's not in Cassandra's character.  It is in Vivienne's character, though, which is why she's not as "hard" looking as Cassandra and Sera.

And the same goes for the guys.  People complaining about how Iron Bull isn't attractive enough need to remember that his character isn't one that is concerned with looks.  If you like a guy who cares about his looks, look to Dorian, who is classically handsome and not "hard" looking.

My point is this:  There's a variety in the LI's.  You might not love all of the characters, but I applaud Bioware for giving us more options than ever before.  Sure, not everyone will be happy with this approach, but there's no way for them to please everyone all the time.  If this time, you're not pleased, enjoy the game for what it's worth and hope that the next game you'll be pleased.  It's exactly what I did in DA 2, when I couldn't be bothered about any of the LI's.

The one thing that bothers me about the LIs is how they all seem to be wearing very heavy eyeliner. It looks a little weird.

As long as they confirm Solas, I'm pretty happy. My only problem is with Sera... for reasons. Cole related reasons.

Dragon Age, dark fantasy?!

oh that's a good one, and as for space ships and such, Tuchunka, Omega, and planets like Korlus would be physically dirtier than anything on Thedas

Also, why is realism being brought up when it comes to LI's appearance, but every other time someone brings up realism, they are immedaitely jumped on with the "Its fantasy it doesn't have to be realistic"

Such as?

Elves and magic - yep, "it's fantasy".

"Everyone ready to jump in a hero's bed no matter how he treats them and such" - nope, that's not very realistic. Yes, it's Thedas, and it's pretty normal to be bi or gay there, no big deal (except for Tevinter) but that's it. It doesn't mean everyone will be like this. Not even the majority of people.

Why is realism brought up in other instances, but then discarded when it comes to LI's appearances?
