Why is realism brought up in other instances, but then discarded when it comes to LI's appearances?
other way around
People say X, Y, and Z are realistic, why aren't they in the game? Others say it is fantasy and has no requirement to be realistic,

Sorry but it works both ways. You also can't say that some things are unrealistic and therefore shouldn't be in the game, and then turn around and say that you want the female warriors to look like supermodels.

I didn't say that, anywhere
furthermore, I'd be on the other side of the argument. I'm fine with having unrealistic aspects to a fantasy game, and very attractive warrior women is on that list of things I'm perfectly fine with seeing.
That is as long as they aren't flat out ridiculous, wearing outfits that are completely improper or impractical and such
They know their LIs suck, so the longer they wait to tell the BSN the less time they have to spend listening to everyone ******. Bioware is homophobic and racist against Dwarves!
XD
Dragon Age, dark fantasy?!
oh that's a good one, and as for space ships and such, Tuchunka, Omega, and planets like Korlus would be physically dirtier than anything on Thedas
Well yeah Dragon Age is considered a Dark Themed fantasy story, and yeah you named 2 alien worlds and a space station which has nothing to do with how humans look in ME when that is a futuristic world with technology to make them all look good
Well yeah Dragon Age is considered a Dark Themed fantasy story
Why? Thedas is no darker than Middle Earth is
Tamriel, the Witcher universe, etc... are all significantly darker

I dunno:
1.Demons
2. Darkspawn spreading a disease that destroys/corrupts all life
3. Grey Wardens having to taint themselves and have their soul destroyed to kill an Archdemon for good.
4. Broodmothers
5. Golems in general and the Harvester in particular
6. Lyrium addiction
7. Red lyrium
8. The Tear
9. Tevinter in general
10. Flemeth
Thedas is not exactly a light and fluffy place.
Solas "confirmed?" as an elf only romance, no word on sexuality yet

you'll be hard pressed to find a game with conflict in it thats "light and fluffy" its just in comparison that it seems so, compared to the games in the same genre (fantasy RPG) as it, thedas is the softest game world

light and fluffy? Of course not, but its not as dark as numerous other fantasy/literary game worlds
Kinda disappointed IB and Dorian are the only two options for gay males. Really wanted Solas. Oh well. At least I really like what I've seen of Dorian so far. ^o^
No, I wanted to romance Cassandra since DA2. DA:I is letting Cassandra finally fall to my characters charms.
Aaaand, now I'm disappointed about straight Solas. /holding out for queer Viv

A fricking men.

Exactly. There is still a chance for Vivienne to be bisexual or gay. And there is still a chance that Blackwall is the last LI and, if so, I can't imagine that he would be straight too.
I'm happy for the straight elf gal players and I'm holding out becoming too upset at this point because there are alot of ways that this can shake out that the LGB community isn't on the short of the stick again.
I can't imagine that he would be straight too.
Let's face it... The only chance he's not straight is that he's not a LI.
If the last LI is Vivienne, and she's bisexual then that means everyone has 3 options *except* gay guys.
That's utterly not fair. And that's when I will *really* start complaining.
why? the difference between 2 and 3 options is not all that much
I also don't quite get it,all this referring to a group of people who want a m/m or f/f romance as gays and lesbians. It's just to keep it simple,is it? Cause there's hella lot of straight folks who also wanna do this.

How often have there been less options for gay male romance in BioWare games?
How often have there been *no* options for gay male romance in BioWare games?

Well, everyone has choices in the game, particularly if you are open to a little role play.
Beyond that I think BioWare are entitled to tell the stories they want to tell.
That entitlement should not extend to the player base dictating the plots, love interests or totting up quotas.
(assuming the comments were not ironic under Poe's Law... but even if so, point still applies
)

you are aware of the fact that of all game developers bioware are one of the most inclusive when it comes to this yes? i have many complaints about how bioware have done things recently but this is not one of them, they wouldnt have 1 less gay option out of spite

One of these days we'll get our turn. I refuse to give up hope on Bioware in this capacity. If any game developer will do it, it's them. Just one game where we don't get the least (or tied for the least) options. I'm not even asking to have the most. Just not the least.
