Exactly. The only thing that sucks about me having to roll a male character to romance Dorian is that poor, glamorous Dorian is going to hook up with Thedas's ugliest man, because I am terrible at making male characters. It might make romantic cutscenes a bit awkward seeing my model caliber husbando swooning over Gollum, but I will persevere. B)

Ha! With me, it's the opposite. I can never make any female character even remotely pretty (at least, to my standards anyway), the exception being DA2. In Origins, it was really difficult for me to play as a female, I tried several times before switching to a male and played through the whole game with little to no problems (ORZAMMAR). Weird.

If you need help in making a female warden just look at others that people have shared online (without mods to) they look awesome. As far as DA 2 goes I just use default female Hawke I think she looks the best

This made me lol, why can't you just suck it up and be like the rest of us other straight males who are going to play as a female to romance Sera? It's not going to kill you.

I disagree with this. Everyone should play the character they feel most comfortable with. I am male and I'm gonna play a female character and I'm not sure if I'll ever play a male character in Inquisition.

Well, with me it is the other way around. I'm overwhelmed with the amount of romance options this time around and can't really decide which one I want to go for first. Viv seems really interesting, but then there is also Cullen and IB and maybe Solas... I guess I go wherever my character leads me, no?

The only one I will never ever be able to romance is Josephine, because my sister has the same name

Well, hopefully there will be someone to your liking once the game is released and you get to know the characters.

I used to be the same way, first time i played all 3 Mass Effects and both Dragon Age games I played as a male cause I am a male. But as I said in another post I got tired of always playing a male cause we have been forced to play males in how many games in the past? So it was refreshing to play another gender for once though as far as romances go my females are always only into other females lol. Female Warden romanced Leliana, Female Hawke romanced Isabela and my femshep went from liara to kelly to finally traynor lol. I think though in recent years we have gotten a lot more female protagonists in games I mean we always had Lara Croft in Tomb Raider and Samus in Metroid, but I think Lightning in the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy showed me just a cool a female main character can be when they are done right.

I agree. Though I didn't do it because I became bored; I just go with my gut on these things. If it feels right, I'll do it.

That being said, I will be rolling with a female elf mage who will hopefully romance Solas. My gut tells me that it will happen, and I don't care what anyone else says about that.

I was slightly disappointed at first but then Josephine wiggled(was tempted to write "scribbled" there) her way into my heart.. but i am somewhat apathetic to the other LI's though. I have a little bit of interest in Cassandra, no interest in Vivienne (assuming she's going to be a LI, which is likely), and no interest in any of the males (none of them seem very interesting to me). I was very interested in Sera for my traditional Elfquisitor but she's a lesbian so he'll be forever alone.(i don't play female characters, i find it near impossible to rp as a female)

There's a serious romance thread infestation going on. And it's very contagious.

People thought making Sera unavailable for straight players was a superior way of making a game than making her (as well as the others) available.

Make a character you don't like in order to play the romance you like. It is the better way of playing the game according to people.

I'm not bitter. Not bitter. Not bitter.

Who said anything about making a character you don't like? Most people in this thread seem to be advocating making a character who is different from your go-to or self-insert character in order to experience gated content (among other perks). But I do "get" the argument that many people are not planning multiple playthroughs and would rather contain all of their desired experiences into one.

I know, right? But I know quite a few folks that honestly don't have the time for multiple playthroughs. If I had more responsibilities or was a more ambitious person, I wouldn't have time either, but the game's release coincides with my hiatus from school, so I'll have the time to obsessively play this game.

I just recently graduated with my bachelors and had a job at the same time and I always made time to play lol, then again I'm one of those people who doesn't study and still gets good grades lol

My prettiest warden I ever played ended up accidently being Isolde's twin. My first playthrough, and I was highly shocked when I got to Redcliffe.  I was all "who is this ******, and why does she have my face??"

I'm not great at making original females it seems, sadly.

I'm pretty antitheistic, but I don't really care that Cass and Cullen are religious. If they can love my nonreligious Inquisitors anyway, it's not that big of a deal.

You know I wish people who were upset with the romance options would realize something. IT'S OPTIONAL.

Well some people really want to romance someone but just don't like any of the characters enough.

This made me lol, why can't you just suck it up and be like the rest of us other straight males who are going to play as a female to romance Sera? It's not going to kill you.

It's not sucking up if you say you prefer to play as a lesbian. It should be ok for someone to prefer playing as their own gender and romancing someone of the gender they're attracted to just as much as you do not.

I find (in anime anyway) that female x female romances do romance right where male x female tends to be nothing but fan service and perv jokes with little romance.

lol wat

Hey, I would bet that your ability to manage your time well enough to not have to abandon your hobbies is also a factor in your academic success. I almost envy that, except for that I actually do love forgetting the outside world and letting hobbies and relationships take a backburner while I obsessively study, It's a huge flaw of mine. :(

Sorry, back on topic.

Studying obsessive aint bad. Your only flaw is that you allowed a desire demon kitty to take over ur avatar lol :D
