So, nothing is locked if i don't touch MP? Not even a single armor pattern for crafting? Or something minimal like that?

Kudos, if this proves true.

If it doesn't however, it will be the second time.

Mike Laidlaw already confirmed. No impact on sp whatsoever. Plus read the FAQ that was posted to read further into the details.

If the characters are more or less set, I guess there won't be any facial customisation?

To quote somebody from the Twitter thread:

So wait, let me get this straight - you were willing to buy the game when it had SP. The SP hasn't changed but because there is ALSO MP you won't buy it?

People really...really hate Multiplayer communities.

Yeah that's one thing (among many) that really has my spidey sense tingling.  Waiting so long to announce it.

And if there was no MP you would be moaning about how they didn't say it earlier and the person you quoted would of shrunk back under his bridge instead of gloating because he guessed right on a 50/50 bet.

All the trophies are for the story there are no multiplayer trophies.

According to the leaked achievement list, there is an MP achievement. I suspect there will be more than one in the final list.

No they weren't? In that article you posted, they were even being COMPLETELY hoenst about being looking into MP options for DA:I, but that they hadn't decided yet on what it would be.

eh wrong from the MP FAQ

"How long has your team been working on MP?

·         Over two years. After Mass Effect 3 MP's success, we created a special team with veterans from the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises. Our lead MP designer and lead online programmer have been on the Dragon Age franchise since Dragon Age: Origins. The addition of designers, programmers, artists, audio, QA, and production from Mass Effect 3 MP will help us ship a really fun co-op game that suits our franchise."

They all ways knew there would be MP, thats why they were dodging question left and right. So like I said don't act like they honestly did not know if the game was going to have MP, Considering EA is very pro online,MP was a given

The MP FAQ clarifies:

There was a leak of DAI achievements with exclusive MP achievements. Is that the case?

·         There will be no exclusive MP achievements. Achievements are one way to keep players engaged, but with Dragon Age multiplayer, we have other ways to improve engagement. We will have a full challenge system implemented at launch, letting you pursue and track dozens of different challenges. Completing a challenge may also give you a reward. The challenge system will also be used to implement weekly operations. Every week, we will launch a new operation. Complete the operation, and you will receive a reward.

IMPORTANT QUESTION:

During one of the demos we saw missions on the war table that had you send agents, etc that had timers on them. We were told that the time passes even if you don't play the game, but that there are ways to speed up their completion.

Are the ways to speed up their completion playing Multiplayer matches with those agents?

Probably not, that's like the Galactic war assets you gained from ME3 MP

OR they might have been, you don't know the intricacies of what they would or wouldn't have done anymore than I.  It's just that what I've seen of the industry, it doesn't always seem to work like that, so it makes me take a step back and wonder what is going on.

No, that is EXACTLY how the industry DOESN'T work. Almost no industry works like that. YOu don't just give a company 100 million dolalrs and say "Go make me a game". You specify the budget they have for each specific aspect of the game, and if the developer doesn't want to do a particular aspect of the game, the funding to that aspect is not liquidized into the other aspects. it is CUT.

I don't think the article mentioned anything like that, but it would be kinda cool.

Other then making weapons class restricted where did you see the other items?

Combat Q&A for 1/3, do a search for "armor slots" and you'll see the forum thread on the other.

To quote somebody from the Twitter thread:

There's a difference between possible bad design (removing legitimate options) and deliberate dumbing down (to fit with an MP mode). Even DA2 didn't go as low as to set insane limits on the number of skills you could have hotkeyed at once, and you could plow through that game with just the attack button.

They've literally learned nothing from DA2's flaws at this point, because the class setup is the exact same, and the equipment appears to be even more restrictive.

Well atleast it won't mess with SP at all, but really is this the big news they were talking about? I guess there won't be nothing huge at Pax then

They might have a playable MP demo

Awesome! I didn't play ME3's multiplayer much, but I had a great time with what I played. I'm sure this will be just as great if not better.

I DO have a question though; is the co-op restricted to being online, or can my wife and I play together on the same television? Thank you!  :)

I've always been apathetic towards multiplayer, but I'm happy for everyone else still! If there had to be MP I'm glad it's like this anyway. Teamwork is neat. Maybe I'll get together with 3 other people who are indifferent and we'll complete like half a match together before shrugging and going back to SP.

Damnit, I knew this was going to happen. I've said my piece in the giant thread, but I'm done with this until I hear actual reviews. No pre-order, no day one purchase, nothing. And keep in mind, I bought DA2 and ME3 sight unseen.

People laughed when I said we were getting a gimped SP mode (limited weapon choice, limited armor slots, limited skill slots) because it would fit in perfect with a multiplayer mode. Now see what happens?

Yep. This is most likely the reason why warriors cannot dual wield anymore, why warriors cannot use bows, why rogues cannot use swords, why we have Focus, why healing and support magics are gimped, why the abilities are locked and only allowed up to 8 for consoles (won't be surprised if this holds true to PC as well)....

As for restricting the classes to make them unique...Why is it that armors are not restricted (you can technically wear any armor) but weapons are ?

On the FAQ they responded about the leak achievement and said there aren't achievements MP related.

So far, MP sounds fine. There's basically no connection between the two, from what they said (while for ME3 they announced the GR from the start).
I'll probably try it...though I don't know when. I doubt I'll stop playing the SP during the first run.

My major problems with ME3 weren't caused by MP (while I didn't like at all the bonus ending, I'd have still disliked the endings without it, and the autodialogue was still my major problem) so I'm not that bothered, as long as what they said about the non relation between the two modes is real.

Not just equipment but magics as well.

It is true that in general the industry works like that but at the same time you do have stories of complete mismanagement of the budget because no stipulations were made to what parts of the budget should be spent on what, see for an example All Points Bulletin.

Perhaps not, but I'm talking about it from EAs perspective, the ones giving the money, if they hadn't decided they wanted to include mulltiplayer.

To be clear, the 'hotkey' on console are more then the previous games. The lack of the using talents in the radial menu is what they removed. We don't know about PC howewer.

If DA:I was horribly mismanaged, I think the MP should be the last of anyone's worries. :/

Like I said Bioware was clowning,

I'm sure there was a plan. Not sure what it was, but they followed it faithfully.

I am open to MP, but like I said they should have just done this from the get go.
