Now this is a multiplayer/co-op that makes sense (unlike people's suggestion of joining the story). Can't wait to play this, had a lot of fun in ME3 mp

meh. It's basicaly an exact mp3 clone (not that that's bad, but it's nothing new...) without the galactic readiness...
Much deeper customisation though, and class abilities. And banter!

You have item and armor crafting in MP, which seems fantastic.

I'm on my cellphone so I can't be bothered to read the article, but does it say if the MP is connected to the SP campaign in any way?
The MP characters are your Inquisition "recruits"
Like the ME3 N7 squads were like spec ops teams.

Okay i have only 2 questions
1. why does it have to be co-op and not competitive? i hate working with others....
2. can i play it by myself
1. Because it's a story-based game.
2. Yes.
Much deeper customisation though, and class abilities. And banter!
And stages. And a different way to unlock classes.
I guess it's exactly the same as ME 3 MP in that you fight monsters.

Awesome, looking forward to playing it.
Question though, being they're calling it co-op, does that mean it can be played with just 2 players, or is it another 4 player experience like ME3's MP? I read through the article and didn't find anything relating to how many players can play.

Let the new forum nerf wars commence! Assuming they're doing the same weekly balance changes that Mass Effect 3 got.
This does seem like it'll take up a decent amount of my time after I'm done with SP.
Ah crap, I'd totally forgotten about those days.

I think an actual pvp game would take more resources than BioWare would care to invest in for a game marketed as primarily a singleplayer game. It might have leaderboards, but that is probably it competitive wise.
And for the second question, I imagine you can solo it if you want too(I don't see why they wouldn't let you), however you may be denied some content since some areas require certain heroes to access the loot.

This looks awesome. I never played the ME3 multiplayer but this seems like it is going to be SO MUCH FUN.
...now I just have to start not being horribad at DA combat so I don't end up getting everyone else killed.

Part of the fun is learning to play MP well with friends or making new friends while you learn xD I loved Vanguard but with some of the latency adjustments in MP I often got downed fairly often when first learning it - but man it lead to some great moments with people ![]()

Don't worry about it, many people will be horribad to start out and most people will go out of their way to help you out, at least that is how Me3 mp was and still is for the most part.

I've actually playtested more DAI MP than SP. Having been one of the primary QA on ME3MP, I gotta say I really like where DAI MP is going.

Is it safe to assume that the Sky Warrior is one of these specific MP characters, and that recruiting him in SP unlocks him in MP?

I enjoyed the ME3 MP well enough. I just hope that it is a completely separate piece to the single-player game. This especially includes NOT having to suffer a severely limited single-player interface because they wanted people to be able to feel comfortable switching between the two modes.

You'll always have dicks, but dicks are part of life.
Most of my MP experience with ME3 was overwhelmingly positive.

So, in the Gamescom demo we had the Avvar sky warrior showing up, briefly participating in a Fallow Mire fight, and then offering to join the Inquisition after the Inquisitor killed the Hand of Korth.
Is it safe to assume that the Sky Warrior is one of these specific MP characters, and that recruiting him in SP unlocks him in MP?
No, the unlocks will be MP driven - you will unlock new characters/etc as you earn gold via MP. It's not tied to SP in any way from what has been revealed.

It is not connected to SP - it's just meant to be a co-op campaign with characters that are supposed to be like recruits in the Inquisitor's army doing missions for him/her.
It could be interpreted that way. Loosely connects could also mean it feeds back into SP in some way. I'd prefer they explicitly state that MP has no effect on SP. We will see as info shakes out.

If it's similar to ME3 then you should be able to solo it or play with 2, but the missions might be harder as a result.
Also some loot is hidden behind areas that only mages/warriors/rogues can access, so if you don't have a balanced group it might mean less loot.
