Some people man. The same ones I saw praising announcements are the same now turning on those BECAUSE FUKKN MP EA H8S ME!

"I love the idea of only one spec! That makes it so much more important! And a more limited skill set is great because it becomes more tactical what I upgrade versus having all the power! Biower ur so luvlee!"

to

"THIS IS ****** BULLSHIT! THE ONE SPEC IS JUST SO THEY CAN BE LAZY AND TACK ON A MP MODE WITHOUT EXTRA WORK! BUNCH OF DICKS! AND THIS IS WHY SP SKILLS ARE LIMITED OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'D DO THIS TO ME!"

Question: Are MP characters' genders fixed, or are there male/female options for each character?

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw

They are characters, so their genders are fixed, but there are men and women warriors, for instance.

User

MP doesnt have an impact on SP but does SP have an impact on MP? Like you can only play a mission once youve 'unlocked' in SP?

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw

Nope. Consider them separate.

The latter part is where I disagree a bit, as I know I often utilized S&S for my AW in DAO by choice, even though there are no offensive Talents. And there are those that have played Rogues utilizing 2H weaponry, though no Talents were used there either. Leaving the Player the options of choice sometimes is preferable over insuring that they make the recommended selections.

But I am guessing that this is meant to be about better balancing for co-op, so lesser choices are abandoned. Still, I miss having choices beyond the set type.

That's fair, but it's independent of Multiplayer since it was an issue with Dragon Age 2 as well.

I know things are moving fast in this thread, but wanted to come back to this.

So tevinter(for launch) is MP only? Hopefully we are just talking about a randomly generated dungeon?

"Where are we?"

"Some Tevinter whatchamacallit's hunting grounds. Apparently there is some crazy herbs here that the Inquisitor loves to smoke and he's running low."

I could not be more pleased. Thank you BioWare. Even the ME3 MP devs are back! Good times ahead. Can't wait.

I would hope the Devs in charge of creating the combat encounters already know what each enemy does so they can design suitable encounters for the SP game.

You'll read into it what you want to, obviously.

Have you ever had a project where a fresh set of eyes, or new idea ended up helping you perfect something?

Right before the Tevinter MP Mage Towelie asks "You wanna get high?"

inXile may be joining those ranks, assuming they don't screw up Wasteland 2 and Tides of Numenera.

Based on what ive played with Wasteland 2 in beta...i'm not impressed by them at all.

Frankly inXile is too green as a developer to be in the same class as the other four mentioned. Then again, if you really think the other four are the only developers of RPG's outside of Japan, someone is not paying attention to the RPG genre as a whole when the likes of TaleWorlds, Almost Human, Undead Labs and Ascaron entertainment are around. And those are the small timers.

Then again, the RPG market in Japan is still thriving when the market as a whole is beginning to fail. I may not like it but the Soul series is popular. We also have the weird stuff by NIS America,Capcom dips into it every so often, and don't forget Vanillaware. Of course, there is no difference between these studios anyway, they are all making RPG's of a different color.

This might open up a can of worms anyway, but hey, that's what opinions are for.

It looks almost identical to ME3's multiplayer, but I had a lot of fun playing that so can't say that I'm complaining. And It doesn't affect SP? Even better.

DA2 being so heavily rushed that the final Act is held together with duct tape and aluminum foil makes this argument a little shaky.

Plus, games are supposed to advance, not regress. DA2 backslid from Origins, and DAI seems to be continuing down the same path. I thought "player options" was supposed to be one of the few things learned coming out of that whole mess. Hell, for all it's flaws, ME3 actually restored stuff from ME1.

Which are free...

Free...and DLC...I'm sorry the last time EA ever allowed Free DLC was when the ME3 ending enraged everyone.

Said it before and will say it again:

Tacked on multiplayer will deduct gameplay from the single player experience due to the fact that of the time it takes away from the developer teams, wont surprice me if this game flops on its head just like ME3, GG Bioware il be waiting for reviews to come out before il even touch this mess.

How does a separate team working on the MP independent of the SP [and it's been in dev for 2 years for the MP] mean tacked on? Hyperbole alert!

Wouldn't know that. Only played back when when we had to. But it makes sense I guess. They expect to make that money through buying item packs which you could have bought with in game currency you get while playing...

Well now you do :) The free MP DLC is something they did deliver on w/o fail and so there's 0 reason to doubt that promise.

I'll probably give the MP a go as I enjoyed a little of the ME3 stuff, but I'm reserving judgement on the lack of impact on SP until I actually play the game. People harped on about the galactic readiness thing but that was only the most obvious crossover to pick on. What irked me a little was finding myself on an N7 mission in SP {before I played MP} and thinking 'there's something weird about this place...oh, i know, it's obviously a multiplayer map repurposed for single player.' I really hope I don't wander into any dungeons in Inquisition and get hit with the same immersion breaking realisation.

And all the MP DLC packs of course... Which seems highly relevant to this particular subject.

No, since the argument is that weapon restriction is a design decision idependant from MP, which it is, since it's in DA2 and DA2 has no MP.

I would also find this acceptable. :)Everything. If there were no MP, you could play a dragon. If there were no MP, every companion would be a bisexual romance. If there were no MP, it would be a fully classless system where you could equip anything you wanted. If there were no MP, it would be totally open-world instead of semi open world. If there were no MP, they'd have five hundred different spells and abilities instead of just two hundred. If there were no MP, your PC could be the Warden, Hawke, or the Old God Baby.

I could awnser this, but it would be pointless. Since you clearly cannot see why other players are concerned.

Some things are getting restored from DAO. For example, we can equip companions with armours again, instead of a fixed outfit. Tactical camera is back.

Weren't all the MP dlc free?
