I didn't even say I "accept" it, just that this was the most compelling reason I've seen for me to do so
And it's still a sad thing if that's compelling to you.

Yes. YES. YAAASSS BIOWARE YAAAASS!

My year = made. Yep. If the DA MP team is as dedicated as the ME3 team was, then we're in for a fun ride! I want to say more but I see this is not yet the place for a proper discussion.
Away!
Why do you think they wouldn't have done both? Or that they wouldn't have made design decisions regardless of MP? The idea of them not testing SP encounters, etc in the SP atmosphere is absurd.Fresh eyes yes but not going to a different system with SP features missing and a few random maps that might not be the ones from SP to then test if the MP game is fun to take that encounter design and put it in SP. I would be happier if the SP encounters were designed especially for the part of the game they are in and tested in that encounter using all the features and assets of the SP game available.
As far as I recall Sebastian was available 'for free' with the Signature edition. If you didn't get it you had to buy it.
never said maps i meant character and armor packs
I was exactly right on how the multiplayer was gonna be like!

I like it and I hope it bleeds into the single player somehow with more XP for playing it and specific content. Also, I hope I am able to interact and see my MP characters in the single player, that be really cool.
People wanting idiotic nonsense like this "because it would be cool " ^^^^^^^^ is why I hate MP

I believe you got it for free with a pre-order, but if you didn't then you have to buy it even if you got the game new.
Although the whole thing is irrelevant to the discussion because the MP micro-transactions are most likely what funded the DLC, not From Ashes.
I know! How dare people want things you don't want.
The ****** gall. ![]()
Well I guess that settles it.
The character and armours dlc are free. The packs in the MP can be acquired very well without paying real money.
really? i will shut up now
I have to say, I am a bit disappointed.
I was really really hoping for MP that was interwoven within the single player world/game,
Do you realise what a shitstorm that would have caused?
Yeah, the development is funded via microtransactions. I wasn't talking about personal unlocks.
The DLC itself is funded by EA. If a lot of people buys it, you can be darn right that EA will order more be developed.... Is that so bad? Demand and supply at work here.

We are getting so much stuff with this game that wasn't in DA2 even WITH multiplayer.
Bioware said they tested encounters in MP and used the feedback on SP, that is MP directly affecting the SP game something they said does not happen.
What other systems or features were changed or added to SP because of the MP game. If what Bioware first said was true, that the SP game and MP game were separate and not affected each other then I would have no problem with MP but they have said themselves that this is not true.
I would preferred if the SP game was designed on its own and created for the best it can be not the best MP can be and added to SP.
I know! How dare people want things you don't want.
more like they have succeeded in having Dragon Age "dumbed down for the Call of Duty masses" how dare they want to dumb it down even more but Whatever

You know...comments like this lead me to believe that some gamers don't like the rest of humanity or at the very least have an amazing low opinion of them. Perhaps I'm reading too much into their statements.

You know, there are less condescending ways of saying you don't like what Bioware's doing with DAI.

I'd almost agree with this, except I'm sure CoD lets you use more than one or two weapons per class.

Yeah, no, I think he really believes he's better than the so called "masses" he thinks BioWare is trying to appeal to. Like the vast majority of players should be considered second class and he's some kind of truer Dragon Age fan. >_>
You just said more to make me accept this MP than anyone else has so far
What he said is clear from all the communication so far from Bioware so dunno why you wouldn't be convinced before reading that post.
I don't really know how I should feel with this announcement, but so long as BioWare has a separate team to develop multiplayer and it doesn't affect the single player experience in any way or hinder entire DAI development progress and decrease the game quality as a whole.
So long as multiplayer stays optional I'm fine with that. That said I'm playing BioWare's games for the story/character, and I personally think they should stick with that since it's what they do best.
A thing that I wonder, with the ME3 MP they created classes very different from the basic SP ones. I wonder if it'll be possible that they'll create character with different weapons (a warrior with two swords, for example).
According to the FAQ on the official website, that's what they're doing. For example, the Legionnaire is a Sword and Board warrior while the Reaver is a Two-Handed weapon warrior.
