The Multiplayer does not have any impact on the single player game. This doesn't speed up advisor missions.
So what is the goal of MP? Doesn't affect SP (good), Items gained in MP don't transfer to SP, No MP achievements etc.. Is the whole purpose of MP just so people can play with friends? If MP has no point other than playing with friends why not do it as a DLC or Expansion.

So MP 100% optional to install and doesn't have to be installed if you don't play MP at all? I haven't been really following this much since I am in the middle of playing games and watching movies.

You're seeing what you want to see. Providing feedback = does not equal SP was designed around MP.
What feedback are they providing, how encounters work in MP and what is fun in MP. how does applying what is fun and works in MP to SP game which has different maps and environments that need encounters especially designed for them improving the SP game.
I know you want to see MP as having no effect at all on the SP game but Bioware themselves have said they used the MP to test encounters for the SP game which is directly affecting the SP. If they do that what other systems and features are they changing because of MP.
If you don't mind the SP game being designed around a different game with different features then fine but to say the SP is not affected is ridiculous.

The point is to enjoy it. There is no added benefit to making it a dlc or expansion (outside of likely costing something).

What's the difference if it doesn't affect SP?
I believe they've said it goes along with the SP story. Not knowing how exactly that'll work, that could be why.

Why not include it in the main game? It's a separate team working on it - it's taking no resources from SP and will be ready at launch. Why delay or make it wait when it's not hurting the SP portion? Seems simple enough ![]()

Would it be more precise to say that DAMP doesn't affect the story of DASP? Because I'm pretty sure that's what they mean. There will always be alternate, outside factors that affect gameplay between iterations in a franchisr, whether through change in technology or innovations in gameplay in other games/modes.

Can I just say something like that sounds awesome.I remember when DAO was intended to have a unique MP and SP campaign mode!
I'd love to play the game through with a co-op buddy kind of like Borderlands I suppose. More depth in story telling with the dialog choices etc. But to be able to go through the entire game cooperatively could be cool

Since there's been zero info on what influenced what, it's pretty silly to assume anything.
I could be as simple as how enemies behave against a certain class type or an idea on how to make something flow better. Who knows?

I am not an expert on AUS gaming prices but what I know shows fairly high prices are pretty much a standard for ALL games in the Aussie market, not just EA/DLCs. So I don't know how much your comment holds up there.
I asked a legal teacher..they explained it in a far more complex way than I can. It has something to do with markets, and developers do influence the micro markets and goverment legislation.

It would be cool but with Borderlands it's a much simpler thing to do since there is no branching dialogue trees, no NPCs to recruit/talk with, etc. Baldur's Gate tried this back in the day - it was not a smooth experience and while it's fair to say a more elegant solution could be had, a co-op game built around a story with choices/companions would probably take a fair chunk of extra work to function smoothly as a co-op game. SWTOR is probably as close as you could get to this idea and there were plenty of moments where I cringed at what my party members chose to say to NPCs xD

Both game modes exist in the same installation and are not separate, just like Mass Effect 3. The optional part is if you press the Multiplayer menu option.

How are your hopes destroyed? If the MP doesn't color or modify your SP experience in any shape or form, what do you lose? How does it hurt your enjoyment of the game?
Curious minds want to know!

Looks remarkably like the ME3 diagram...
Considering the GR and the promotion of MP characters in WA, I don't see how someone could've made a diagram where the two modes weren't related at all.

It does'nt hurt my enjoyment of the game at all.I'm just disappointed in the knowledge that pure single player driven game franchises are becoming a thing of the past.

The new divinity game uses an RPS mini game to resolve conflicts which is interesting.
Before playing particpants would probably have to come to some agreement. Even agreeing to disagree would be viable with the game tossing a coin to break deadlocks. That could be fun too.

And apparently it's nothing special either, just a wave battle mode with randomly changing maps.Atleast make the multiplayer worth playing.

What are the benefits of a pure single player game? What do those benefits provide, that cannot exist in a single player rpg with a multiplayer mode on disc?
