It is being forced on us though.   I'm paying for a product that doesn't focus all its attention on what its primary point of engagement is.  If I wanted to pay $60 dollars for a game that tried to metaphorically chase after two rabbits simultaneously, I'd buy Spec Ops: The Line.

Ummm, the SP is like 200 hours I say it's got alot of attention than many games do. And "being forced on you" would be forced to play it, not download it

That's still not "forcing" though, as the content is entirely optional. Your SP experience will hardly be affected by the existence of MP.

I look forward to the two hour long videos of someone's solo platinum run.

I'm just excited for the flame wars, e-shaming and e-praising.

I wish I could view the glass as half as full as you do.  I really do.

So do I, but it's a bit difficult after a four-game slide down the ol' hill of quality it's a bit hard not to take things with a giant grain of salt. Especially when the Combat Q&A made it quite clear this thing is still shackled to the turkey that was DA2. And I liked DA2 more than a lot of people did. Now the reasoning for a lot of the (over) simplification comes out, and people refuse to see reason.

If there's no tangible benefit then what  is the point?

I wish I could view the glass as half full as you do.  I really do.   But you're right about The Witcher 3.  That game won't let me down.  Based CDPR.

I've seen nothing in The Witcher 3 that makes me go "Oh cool!" I just see more Witcher 2, which isn't a bad thing, but I have yet to be wowed. I want them to do something to wow me :(

Again,Mass Effect is a different beast since you only control one character and that's Shepard. In Dragon you are able to control everyone in the party,I just don't see how the multiplayer is going to solve hurdle.

Uhm, by the fact each player controls there own character, since you don't need to control every member of the party you can focus on your own individual character.

and even though Mass Effect was different in that you didn't actively control squad mates you still had to issue orders and commands for them to use abilities so the same concept can still apply even though each game executes it differently.

Well I am a hopeless optimist, but as a person that really enjoys single player games and sees no value at all in multiplayer(really if i want to talk to my friends I would just, ya know, go outside or call them or use any of the other trillion social networking features on the internet) I am not worried about the state of single player games.

That being said I do feel the co op being here is sort of silly, but hey, not forced into it so like I said im not worried.

I see your point, of course. What I meant is that, contrary to what happened in ME3, you actually don't have to play it to get a rewarding ending or something like that. I would've actually been pretty pissed if that had been the case. PvP would have been bad as well (just like swooping... very bad). But again, I understand your point of view. I personally see the MP as an additional adventure which I'll be able to play with my friends. Some kind of big sidequest which doesn't get in the way of my Inquisitor's own quest. But that's just me :)

Fair point.
Still....I think...I'm done for the night.

Okay there's that, but what is the actual goal in the multiplayer? In ME3 the multiplayer had a point since you were defending areas previously claimed by Shepard and company from being taken back.

Sorry, but I don't play multiplayer just to have mindless fun.

I don't know if this was addressed earlier, but...

A'koss @Megin_Akoss

FYI, in the IGN video they mention 4 MP classes (including the archer) but in the DA FAQ they only mention the core 3.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Each character is a subset of one of the three main classes.

Laughing internally as that one guy rushes into a room head-on and gets stomped.

That's always worth it.

It was said in the video we're playing the grunts in MP and running errands for the inquisition. You know, the stuff the inquisitor can choose to send soldiers to do in SP.

Edit: Replied to another post.

I guess everything works if you're ignoring half of the criticism.

And everything sucks if you only see the negatives.

I have another question:

How will points/killing work? Will it be like ME3 where you had kills and assists? Will all xp be shared? (I recommend XP be shared)

What about loot? Will it be a sprint to the chest and whoever opens it first gets the goods? I read about gold being shared, but the video also showed characters opening chests, so how does that work?

Lol,that reminds me of the time I suckered another player into getting killed in AC:R's multiplayer once.

You're stepping into the booties of the Inquisitions soldiers that go and do side stuff that the Inquisitor told you to do.

Hmm....maybe it's not so bad after all.I can rest easy knowing the multiplayer won't just be "there".

Well, what's more important? MP not affecting SP or MP making you feel like you're doing something in relation to SP?

They said that our advisors would tell us the missions in MP and it would flow with the game. It's kind of the best of both, IMO.
