Twitter thread on 8 slots. Radial menu power select is gone, although you can switch up your 8 abilities "in the field," whatever that means.

Precisely.  And it means you can switch them up outside of combat anywhere.  Exactly like Diablo 3.

I checked and saw it, only access to 8 skills is somewhat jarring but I wait til I get my hands on it. As for the loss of sustainables, Not a huge concern for me because stack enough them on top of eachother and the game gets laughably easy. Nothing wrong with more challenges for the Nightmare guys to hurdle

As long as no SP content is locked behind MP content (I don't even approve of SP content being locked behind SP content, like NG+), and the SP is balanced to suit the lack of MP play, I would have no objection.

What about MP content being locked behind SP content?

Well let's say for the sake of argument that sustainables are not in the game, since for some reason you aren't accepting this yet despite the numerous gameplay videos and demos shown. So for argument's sake, how would you feel about this?

Truthfully? I'd be fine with it. I don't have a burning attachment to any particular talent or skill, so I'd adapt.

Just makes things a bit harder in general, like all the other things I mentioned.

So I guess they don't have a solo mode either, at least  :(

Are you Anthropophobic or something?

I don't see that being a thing, at all.

If anything, you might be able to unlock the Avvar Warrior class by recruiting and Avvar Warrior in SP as an alternate to waiting for the Avvar Warrior character card

It's called deduction. If you can come up with another reason why Bioware would cut parts of the established gameplay system (sustainable abilities and radial menu) rather than enhancing it, I'd love to hear it.  The fact of the matter is it makes game development much, much simpler when you keep the same gameplay system in multiplayer and single player.  And they have.  Therefore, the gameplay system was designed to accommodate multiplayer.  Multiplayer isn't the sole reason for all of the gameplay design decisions, but it is something that needed to be taken into consideration every step of the way.

And I never said "dumbed down."  That's an opinion, which is not the point I'm trying to make.

Because you can't have multiplayer with more than 8 active abilities at once and you certainly can't have sustained abilities. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go figure out how the hell I'm supposed to play my World of Warcraft character that has over 30 keybinds.

You see, none of these changes you're attributing to being a result of MP are requirements of having a MP which creates a bit of a flaw in that whole "deduction" thing you have going on over there.

Some people just hate multiplayer.

But it can be easily ignored, people who hate MP can just play the SP mode only, seems childish to suddenly start hating & endlessly criticising inquisition when they ain't being forced to play the MP

When I want to socialize, I go out.  But when I play video games:

I don't want my fun to be dependent on other people

I don't want other people's fun to be dependent on me.

And I don't trust that MP and SP "won't touch at all"  Not a bit.  So if there was a "solo mode" for this agent thing, at least then I could be sure I don't have to MP get get everything.

I hate green peppers. I'm going to find everyone I know and let them know that I hate green peppers. I will find the green pepper fan club and tell them how much green peppers suck and I hate them and they ruin my pizza and pasta sauces.

What about MP content being locked behind SP content?

I'm completely indifferent to the state of MP content.

I will not play with other people.

However, if the MP content can be played by a single player, then I would not want it locked behind anything, no (not even other MP content).

I think they've said you could enter with less than a full group(assuming the lobby works like ME3 this means you can also enter solo).

How doable that is will most likely come down to personal skill.

I do not trust this to be true.

Look, you're not going to believe anything they say until the game comes out and proves their words true. So instead of moping on the forums, find something else to occupy your time and come back once the reviews are out.

I do not trust this to be true.

Especially since Bioware has to give players incentive to try out the multiplayer to begin with.

Can't wait to see the PC UI.
30 key binds you say? Cool. Hope that happens for you. It would be...radiant.

Every developer will try to give players incentive to at least try it, doesn't make it any less optional than it is

If there is a incentive to play then the MP can't be ignored can it?That's the whole point.

It has nothing to do with trust but with your insecurity.

It's baseless.

What difference would that make? His issue is about the quality of the sp not how good the mp is.
