Wait, what happens if multiple players choose the same character?

Then they play the same character.

I don't want to argue about that scene here but pre-extended cut there was no way for Shepard to live in a space station with no working tech in a galactic dark age.

Also, if your issue the mp is going to cut scene in the sp from you do to integration points that you're missing the point here the DAMP has no way to do that be cause it non integrated.

The breath scene there for head canon purporses only, there's no cannon saying Shepard died in that ending as well.

Source?

An argument rendered utterly irrelevant by two things: one, I cannot find a lick of proof that that breathe scene is in before the EC, and two: the EC

I've been on the forums since DAII, and it was the fans that exaggerated, not BioWare.

Also, I've no sympathy for anyone who didn't see the ending coming back in ME2.

1) Some things were.

2) It was there and was gated, the EC (or a patch near the release of the EC, i don't remember) only  lowered the War Readiness required to get it so playing MP was not needed anymore.

I was hoping it would be coop in singleplayer story where a buddy takes control of a companion during missions.

I was expecting something more like this too, specially after their panel at PAX East 2012 (at 3:15)

That sounds fun.

At least part of the Javik content was, though I'm not sure why it matters. Fans seem to have this imaginary scenario where it was possible for Javik to be included in the budget of the vanilla game.

That's a character skin and dialogue, all of which are pre-recorded and hardcoded into the game. They have to be, or the patch would be freaking huge.

They are not, however, content.

I got the breath scene because I played MP a week after ME3 launched, so it was definitely there. But yeah EC fixed this.

That makes you the first identifiable person I've found that said that, so you'll forgive me if I don't believe you.

Fans have definitely exaggerated more, but it's hard to interpret "the rachni have a huge effect on the ending" as anything but an exaggeration.

Funny, I remember that as a fan quote that BioWare neither confirmed or denied.

Also, now that the game has MP, I want to mod it even more.

In all honesty I can not imagine a scenario you would not want to mod a game or just find a reason to mod it.  smiley face

In ME3 you could have a party of all Asari Justicars or Geth Engineers. I suspect that it will be possible to have 4 Rogue>Archer types as well.

It wasn't accidental. That was the best one I could find.

And while he did not say so explicitly in the post I quoted, he did say so implicitly. His remarks lead directly to the conclusion that the design was intentional. There's not even any induction required.

But this isn't my fight. I don't care whether the ME3 team lied. I only care about MP insofar as it effects the design of SP. And if they share a UI, it does.

The quote you used also implied that it was for the sake of the iOS app in the exact same fashion, which makes my tangent into "how crazy would we seem if we thought they were trying to sell iPads" seem very valid.

For the most part, I simply don't believe it was part of some overarching marketing incentive plan to get into MP. If it was just someone thinking it might be cool to have a tie-in to encourage people to try out a certain type of content, that doesn't really bother me. I don't want developers getting involved in trying to decide what type of content we want to play though. Sell us the game you want to make, whether we buy it or not is how we decide what we want to play.

They've said it doesn't affect the story. They've said there's no gated content.

That is not the same as having no effect.

I expect the mechanics and the UI were both designed with MP in mind from the start. That would explain the significant lack of utility spells and abilities. Everything seems to be combat-focussed.

That might suit MP very well, but it's certainly not how I would choose to design a roleplaying game.

Not certain, but there may be more utility spells seen in DAI than in the previous series (eg bridge repair). Perhaps waiting to see what is available might be prudent.

Yes.  Yes it is ridiculous.  People got burned by the last Bioware game.  And will get skittish when they see patterns repeating themselves.

Let me get this straight.  Bioware has been making fantastic games since 1998(Baldur's Gate) but since they made a mistake(multiple huge ones admittedly) with their most recent game it's okay for people to throw sludge and apprehension towards anything else they do? And that's not insecurity? 10+ years of great games doesn't get you any leeway?

I am secretly hoping this isn't possible.

It's already been confirmed that that's possible.  You can also end up in a situation where there's available loot but you don't have the right class in your party to unlock it.

Not sure if trolling or not.  But let's play along:

1) You know what, I play the Walking Dead games and The Wolf among us.  Single player games.  You know what's fun about them?  I can play the game by myself, and later chat with others about their choices, and how things unfolded differently.  I don't need to pwn walkers with my bros to make it a social experience.

I would, however, be royally p*ssed if it turned out that assurances that I don't have to do so turned out to be.,.inaccurate...Especially if it had already happened once before.

2 How do you know there's no way?

1. 100% Story base point and click game. Not the same as a genre that stated as a mp game.

So I'll as again, are you anthrophobic? Because you seem dead set to being alone.

2. Is there a war asset system? Can you send and gold, materials, or characters from mp to sp? Does it effect the completion rate of your agents quest? So far all answers are no.

So it has no way to effect the sp.

I hope they have special banter just for those occasions.

"Wow, you're good looking."
"Not too hard on the eyes yourself. Hey, have I met you before?"

Did you not play the game without the Extended Cut and played the MP?Because I can confirm the Breath scene existed long before then.

I'm amused that we're already calling it DAMP. Its one of those treasures like XBone.

If what they're saying and what they posted is right, then this is really all I could hope for under the circumstances. I don't have to play it. I can have a complete to myself SP experience blissfully unaware of the MP. They seem to be taking pains to make that clear with multiple questions in the FAQ.

Javiks voice files were present. Mostly the outrage was his central role as catalyst in original concept, and being DLC on day one for such an important race.

Kasumi in ME2 was done the same way. Voice files mean nothing  being that the mission to get him, and his skins were download only.

Then you obviously haven't looked very hard. Here's a YouTube video published March 11, 2012 that includes the original endings and breath scene: https://www.youtube....h?v=4gssML_aVmk

The quote is by Mac Walters in this interview: http://popwatch.ew.c...-3-mac-walters/

Now I am usually the last person to jump on the "Biower lied" train. Anyone who's spent significant time on the ME3 boards can attest to just how distasteful I find the venomous attitude some fans have. But in these particular two points it is documented and you are simply wrong.
